Ukhuwah Programme Reflects MADANI Government's People-Centred Leadership
PORT DICKSON, July 20 (Bernama) -- The Ukhuwah Kepimpinan Kerajaan MADANI programme held here today clearly reflects the MADANI government's commitment to making service to the people the cornerstone of its leadership. The Backbenchers Club (BBC) said the programme involved the participation of MADANI government MPs and members of the administration in various community initiatives, including a major gotong-royong at Pusasda Mosque, Kampung Telok Pelandok, and Kampung Pachitan. A Rahmah Sale was also held, offering essential goods at affordable prices as a reflection of the government's concern over the economic challenges faced by the people. 'The programme was further enlivened with a communal feast and a meet-and-greet session with the local community. This relaxed and meaningful atmosphere encouraged open interaction between leaders and the people, thereby strengthening the spirit of togetherness. 'It is a manifestation of MADANI principles that celebrate the values of compassion, mutual respect, and unity within society,' it said in a statement. According to BBC, the presence of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim further underscored the people-centred approach, namely a leadership that goes to the ground, listens to the people's concerns, and responds with empathy and tangible action. 'This is an example of the value of ihsan and social responsibility, which are the pillars of the Malaysia MADANI philosophy,' the statement said. It added that members of the administration and MPs would continue to support the ongoing organisation of such programmes. 'Only by engaging with and understanding the pulse of the people can we build a nation that is more inclusive, just and dignified, in line with the grand aspirations of Malaysia MADANI,' said the statement.

PA MAPPA XX run in Kuching draws 2,500 participants
KUCHING: The Public Service Department (JPA) successfully hosted the 20th Larian Majlis Amanat Perdana Perkhidmatan Awam (MAPPA XX) at Kuching South City Council Square (MBKS), attracting 2,500 participants. The event marked Kuching as the third stop in the MAPPA XX series after Kuantan and Batu Kawan. The run saw participation from civil servants and the local community across Sarawak. Flagged off by Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian at 6.30 am, the event featured three categories: 3 km, 5 km, and 10 km. Dr Sim and senior officials from both federal and state civil services also took part in the 3 km Walkathon, demonstrating leadership and solidarity. Beyond the run, attendees enjoyed booth exhibitions by government agencies, including the Pensions Division, Public Service Department, and Sarawak Health Department. Mobile Rahmah Sale At Bawang Assan Community Hall Tomorrow
SIBU, June 20 (Bernama) -- The Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN) in Sibu will organise a mobile Rahmah Sale at the Bawang Assan Community Hall, here, tomorrow (Saturday, June 21). Irene Wong, special assistant to Sibu MP Oscar Ling Chai Yew, said the mobile sale will offer a variety of selected daily necessities at special prices to reduce the burden on the people's cost of living. 'The sale has received overwhelming response from the community as it directly benefits consumers by offering quality goods at lower prices,' she said in a statement today.

Rahmah sale brings big savings to shoppers in Seremban
SEREMBAN: 'The prices are much cheaper than the market. I can save a lot' - that was the reaction of a buyer at the Rahmah MADANI Sales Programme (PJRM) organised by the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) here today. Contractor Hasrul Hashim, 38, from Ampangan, said the sale gave him great relief in managing his family's expenses especially with the increasing prices of basic goods in the market. 'It's not just a cheap sale, but a monthly saver. This is my second time at a Rahmah Sale programme, and my first to this sale here. I'm excited because the prices of the goods offered are a lot cheaper. 'Even though there's a supermarket right in front of my house, I prefer coming to this sale. I can save up to 60 per cent on purchases. So I hope the government will continue to hold this kind of sale and at more places,' he said when met by Bernama at the PJRM in Dataran Ampangan today. Housewife Mariam Abdul Kadir, 68, described the sale as not only helping her financially but also saving her time and energy because the location is closer to her home. 'This sale is held near a restaurant, so while I was here for breakfast, I decided to stop by. From a distance, I notice the signboard displaying much cheaper prices for various items like eggs, sardines and flour,' she said. A food trader, Zalina Yeon, 65, said the programme not only benefits those with limited means but also provides small and medium-sized traders with the opportunity to buy goods for sale at lower prices. 'I always go to this kind of sale. I'll check the prices, and if they are reasonable, I'll buy. This sale offers affordable prices. When we can get raw materials at lower prices, it allows us to sell our food at cheaper prices too,' she said. The programme, which opens from 8.30 am to 12.30 pm, offered, among others, fresh chicken at RM7 per kilogramme (kg), grade B eggs (RM9), five kg of cooking oil (RM25) and one kg of wheat flour (RM2.50). Meanwhile, Negeri Sembilan KPDN director Muhammad Zahir Mazlan said PJRM recorded a total sales value of RM51.95 million through 21 series involving 732 programmes across the state since last January.
