Ukhuwah Programme Reflects MADANI Government's People-Centred Leadership
The Backbenchers Club (BBC) said the programme involved the participation of MADANI government MPs and members of the administration in various community initiatives, including a major gotong-royong at Pusasda Mosque, Kampung Telok Pelandok, and Kampung Pachitan.
A Rahmah Sale was also held, offering essential goods at affordable prices as a reflection of the government's concern over the economic challenges faced by the people.
'The programme was further enlivened with a communal feast and a meet-and-greet session with the local community. This relaxed and meaningful atmosphere encouraged open interaction between leaders and the people, thereby strengthening the spirit of togetherness.
'It is a manifestation of MADANI principles that celebrate the values of compassion, mutual respect, and unity within society,' it said in a statement.
According to BBC, the presence of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim further underscored the people-centred approach, namely a leadership that goes to the ground, listens to the people's concerns, and responds with empathy and tangible action.
'This is an example of the value of ihsan and social responsibility, which are the pillars of the Malaysia MADANI philosophy,' the statement said.
It added that members of the administration and MPs would continue to support the ongoing organisation of such programmes.
'Only by engaging with and understanding the pulse of the people can we build a nation that is more inclusive, just and dignified, in line with the grand aspirations of Malaysia MADANI,' said the statement.

Anwar refutes claims of failed multibillion-ringgit investments
PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has firmly rejected allegations that multibillion-ringgit investments in Malaysia have failed to deliver results. He stressed that these investments, particularly in the manufacturing sector, have significantly contributed to economic growth, job creation, and wage improvements. Anwar revealed that 3,494 manufacturing projects approved by the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) between 2021 and June 2025 have seen an 86.4% implementation rate, with 3,095 projects already operational. The annual implementation rates were 90.6% in 2023 and 79.2% in 2024, while the first quarter of 2025 recorded 49.8%. 'Critics ask, 'Where are the results of these billions in investment?' The truth is, 86% of approved projects are up and running,' Anwar stated during the Prime Minister's Department monthly assembly. He directed the Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry, Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz, to publicly share data on operational projects in key regions like Kulim, Johor, Sarawak, Sabah, and the Klang Valley. The prime minister emphasised that these projects, particularly in digital and green industries, have generated 50,000 new jobs in the manufacturing sector in Q1 2025. Additionally, the median wage in the sector rose by 5.4% to RM2,745, aligning with the new minimum wage of RM1,700. Anwar also highlighted the efficiency of the Invest Malaysia Facilitation Centre (IMFC), established in December 2023, which has processed 28,166 investor applications with a 99.9% resolution rate. These applications covered approvals, permits, foreign worker quotas, utilities, and taxation. 'The civil service's role in facilitating these investments must be acknowledged. Their efficiency ensures that announced policies translate into real outcomes,' he added. – Bernama

Malaysia reduces new debt to RM77 billion in 2024, says PM Anwar
PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim revealed that the government has successfully lowered annual new debt to RM77 billion in 2024, a significant drop from RM99 billion in 2022. Speaking at the Prime Minister's Department monthly assembly, he emphasised that this achievement aligns with the administration's commitment to prudent fiscal management. 'The new debt incurred was RM99 billion in 2022, dropping to RM93 billion in 2023 and further to RM77 billion in 2024. The government promised to reduce new debt, and we have fulfilled that,' Anwar stated. He dismissed claims that the government was increasing overall debt, clarifying that only interest payments on older debts remain unchanged. Anwar, who also serves as Finance Minister, highlighted the gradual reduction in the fiscal deficit from 5.5 per cent in 2022 to 4.1 per cent in 2024, with a target of 3.8 per cent this year. He explained that a measured approach ensures development projects and market confidence remain unaffected. 'We manage the national economy like a household. If income is RM5,000 but spending is RM7,000, that's a deficit. Now, we're reducing expenditure step by step,' he said. The Prime Minister also commended Malaysia's improved global competitiveness, noting an 11-place jump to 23rd in the IMD World Competitiveness Ranking 2025. This progress, driven by economic reforms and administrative efficiency, supports the MADANI Economy Framework's goal of placing Malaysia among the top 12 competitive economies by 2033. Anwar cited the International Monetary Fund's (IMF) approval of Malaysia's fiscal reforms, including the Public Finance and Fiscal Responsibility Act (FRA), as evidence of the government's disciplined approach. – Bernama

KPKT Selects Kampung Tok Kepak For MADANI Adopted Village Programme 2025
ALOR SETAR, July 21 (Bernama) -- The Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) has selected Kampung Tok Kepak in Kodiang as one of the locations for the 2025 MADANI Adopted Village Programme (KAM). In a statement, the ministry said the programme aligns with the government's efforts to narrow the development gap between rural and urban areas under the MADANI aspiration. A total of 15 high-impact projects have been planned and are underway in the village. These include five under KPKT's KAM 2025 initiative, four under the BP1 Assistance Programme, two from the Urban Community Development Programme (PPKB), two by the National Landscape Department (JLN), one by the Kedah ICU, and one by the Ministry of Education (MOE). 'These projects focus on both physical and social development, aiming to enhance the quality of life for Kampung Tok Kepak residents, especially in terms of public facilities, economic opportunities, and community empowerment,' the statement read. Among the completed projects is the demolition and reconstruction of the village community hall, a collaborative effort between the Department of Local Government (JKT) and the Kubang Pasu Municipal Council (MPKP). The upgraded facility, now known as the Kampung Tok Kepak Community Hall, was officially launched on July 19 by KPKT secretary-general Datuk Wira M Noor Azman Taib. During the event, he expressed hope that the new hall would serve as a hub for community activities and be well cared for by local residents for their shared benefit. Other projects currently in progress under the KAM initiative include road resurfacing, upgrades to the KEMAS preschool and Tok Kepak Mosque, enhancements to Sekolah Kebangsaan Tok Kepak, installation of LED streetlights, landscaping works, and the construction and repair of homes for eligible residents. The total investment exceeds RM3 million. 'These efforts reflect KPKT's strong commitment to empowering rural communities through balanced, inclusive, and people-centric development,' the ministry added.
