A man drove his car onto the Railway Platform in Gwalior on Thursday in search of his wife following a domestic 3 am, Sub-Inspector Ravindra Singh Rajawat was patrolling the platform with his team when they spotted a white car entering the platform from the Jhansi end and moving towards the Agra side. The sight of the vehicle shocked passengers waiting at the Rajawat immediately stopped the vehicle and questioned the driver. Ranchi: The Railway Police Force (RPF) have planned several measures, including deploying additional personnel at important railway stations across Jharkhand, to manage the lakhs of devotees who are expected to arrive from different parts of the country to offer their prayers at the Baidyanath Dham temple in Deoghar during the auspicious month of Shravan, which commences on Friday. Among them are Ranchi, Hatia, Jasidih, Dhanbad, Deoghar, Jamshedpur, Bokaro, and Chakradharpur. Hand-held metal detectors and bomb disposal squads would also be posted at some stations." Police would monitor the crowd at railway stations through closed-circuit television cameras, he said, adding that plain-clothed personnel would also keep watch over anti-social elements to prevent crimes, including pickpocketing, theft, and loot. An RPF official added that his organisation and GRP would set up helpdesks at Ranchi and Hatia railway stations to serve devotees in different ways, including medical treatment and guidance. "The devotees suffering from any physical injury would be given first aid and, if needed, referred to a medical team," he said. RPF would also create holding areas outside the stations during rush hours, from where passengers would be released as per their train timings. While an eye will be kept to prevent the entry of ticketless passengers, the RPF said it will stop passengers from boarding sleeper and AC coaches without valid tickets.

A bomb threat via email was received at Bhopal's Raja Bhoj domestic airport on Monday. According to the details, the email, received by the airport director, stated that explosives had been planted on the airport premises. The email also mentioned that the airport could be blown up at any time. Subsequently, the police were informed by the airport management, and investigations were ongoing. The police were trying to reach the sender via the IP address, it was known. The security at the airport was also being reviewed. On July 5, the Chhattisgarh Sampark Kranti Express, going from Delhi to Durg, was delayed by almost an hour after it was halted at Jhansi railway station following a bomb threat, which later turned out to be a hoax. After the train left Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station in Delhi around 6 pm on Friday, an unidentified person called the railway helpline 139 and claimed that a bomb had been planted in a sleeper coach of the train, officials said. Teams of the Railway Police Force (RPF) dog squad and bomb disposal squad were called in. Other train arrivals were also diverted to other platforms. Earlier this month, a private airline's office at Pune airport received a bomb threat, following which checks were conducted at the international airport. However, nothing suspicious was found. 'You must evacuate the building urgently, people will die," it stated. A customer care executive of the airline read the email at around 6.45 am and alerted authorities, an official from Vimantal police station said. After being alerted, personnel from the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) and local police conducted extensive searches in and outside the airport premises.

The officials of Prakasam district police, the Elite Anti-Narcotics Group for Law Enforcement (EAGLE), Railway Police Force (RPF), Government Railway Police (GRP), and the dog squad on Thursday conducted a joint inspection at Ongole Railway Station and its surrounding areas. The teams as part of an extensive inspection to eradicate trafficking of ganja and drugs searched the Visakhapatnam-Kollam Express (Train Number 18567) coaches, station premises, and also examined parcel service centre. Superintendent of Police A.R. Damodar said, 'The goal is to make Prakasam a drug-free district, and the police department is working hard towards it. We are conducting extensive awareness programmes at every college and school to prevent the youth from being affected by drugs. Also, those addicted to drugs and marijuana are being admitted to the de-addiction centre'. He said that cases are being registered and action taken against those who are supplying drugs. The joint inspections will continue at railway stations, bus stations and parcel service centres, he added and warned that strict action will be taken against anyone transporting, selling or consuming drugs. The SP urged the public to call toll-free number 1972, the local police or dial 112 or the police WhatsApp number 9121102266 to register complaints or to share information. He assured that the details of those who give information would be kept confidential. Ongole DSP R. 1 2 Lucknow: In a joint operation, Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and Railway Police Force (RPF) arrested two individuals and seized 30kg of ganja worth approximately Rs 30 lakh at Lucknow Junction railway station on Saturday. Acting on a tip-off received on Friday, the team, led by inspector Ajmer Singh Yadav and sub-inspector Pankaj Kumar, intercepted the two accused who alighted from 12536 (Garib Rath) at platform 4 around 7am. The two accused, Sukhal Baitha, 65, and his wife Lilavati Devi, 55, from Mushari village, West Champaran, Bihar, were detained.
