After the train left Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station in Delhi around 6 pm on Friday, an unidentified person called the railway helpline 139 and claimed that a bomb had been planted in a sleeper coach of the train, officials said.

Scared of scolding, 5 minor Durg girls flee home; Ngp RPF rescues

Nagpur: Afraid of being scolded by the parents for bunking school to visit a picnic spot around 50km from their town and returning home late, five minor girls, all classmates from a Durg school, boarded a train to Mumbai. On reaching Nagpur, they stepped out to look around and curiosity drove them to a tent set up for urs devotees on platform No. 8 of the Nagpur railway station, only to be rescued by the RPF. The incident occurred on July 22 during a routine patrol under 'Operation Nanhey Farishtey'. RPF staff noticed the girls in suspicious condition near the tent and alerted woman head constable Manju Sharma, who immediately reached the spot. As the girls struggled to explain their presence at the platform without any elder accompanying them, they were taken to the RPF post for further inquiry. When the girls were counselled in the presence of a Childline representative and sub-inspector Jhuma Ingle, they narrated the entire story. The girls visited Mahadev ghat, a popular picnic spot near Raipur, without informing anyone from family or school. When they failed to reach home by the usual time, they started worrying about the possible reprimand and decided to leave for Mumbai and boarded a train. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like American Investor Warren Buffett Recommends: 5 Books For Turning Your Life Around Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo To ensure their safety, the RPF completed necessary documentation and escorted the girls to Mayo Hospital for medical check-up. Bihar: Man dies of suffocation in overcrowded Intercity Express, 3 others unconscious

One person was killed and several others fell unconscious after an unprecedented rush of Kanwariyas in the Bhagalpur-bound Intercity Express train caused suffocation for many passengers on Wednesday evening, railway officials said. Representational image. The incident took place between Bakhtiyarpur and Barh railway stations of Danapur Rail division of East Central Railway. The deceased has been identified as 41-year-old Ranjit Kumar, a resident of Dalismanchak village of Barh who worked as a daily wage mason in Bakhtiyarpur. After his day's work, Kumar boarded the Danapur-Bhagalpur Intercity Express (13402) with other workers to return home. The train was packed with passengers and Kanwariyas. Due to the extreme heat and humidity, he started feeling breathless when the train was near Athmalgola station, eyewitnesses said, adding that Kumar fell unconscious soon after. When the train arrived at Barh railway station, GRP and RPF personnel took him to Barh sadar Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival. 'Prima facie, it seems the incident happened due to suffocation. The Barh GRP has registered a case of unnatural death, and the body has been sent for postmortem,' a GRP official said, adding that preliminary review stated the cause to be heat-induced unconsciousness. Meanwhile, East Central Railway (ECR) officials claimed that they are not sure if the passenger died of suffocation or some other health complication. 'Postmortem will reveal the exact cause if the person died of suffocation or heart attack,' the official said.

Food Thief On Moving Train: Passenger Steals From Vendor's Cart, Faces Heat Online

Last Updated: The co-passengers did not object to his act and were seen laughing at his petty theft. What might have started as a mere prank for entertainment quickly turned into petty theft aboard a crowded train. A video has been going viral on social media, which shows a shocking scene of a passenger stealing from the vendors. While he might have thought that his antics were hilarious, the Internet is far from being amused. The clip begins with vendors trying to make their way through the narrow passage between the seats as they balance huge bags of goods on top of their heads. The young man, who was sitting on the upper berth, called one of them and looked through his bag, acting as if he wanted to buy something from the vendor. When he showed no interest and the vendor was about to walk away from that place, he sneakily took a packet of juice from the bag, without paying. His expression showed no signs of hesitation or guilt. He was clearly pleased with his petty theft. And he did not just limit himself to stealing one item. As vendors passed through the corridor one after another, he kept stealing food items, including samosas, a water bottle, and other fried snacks. He thinks stealing from poor vendors is "comedy". This guy needs to be detained. — Tarun Gautam (@TARUNspeakss) July 19, 2025 Internet Is Furious Over The Man's Actions As seen in the video, his co-passengers found his act amusing. They laughed at his inexcusable actions instead of discouraging him from doing so or even informing the poor vendors about what was happening. What was clearly theft was treated like an entertainment show for the other passengers. The viral video was shared on X with the caption: 'He thinks stealing from poor vendors is 'comedy'. This guy needs to be detained." Unlike his co-passengers, the Internet was furious about the man's act. Many expressed their anger and disappointment over this incident, with some even calling for strict punishments. One person said, 'It is not about his problem; it's about the people sitting beside them, and no one is saying anything. And everyone is taking fun of it!!!" Another added, 'Stealing from the poor and calling it content? That's not a prank, that's a crime. Lock him up." 'I'll never get why Indians think bending the rules is a genius move," said a different user. A user also tagged Railway Police and asked for punishment, saying, '@RPF_INDIA identify and fine him for this misdemeanour crime. People cannot be allowed to get away with stealing from others like this. Where is rule of law?" Since the video was posted on social media, it has garnered over a million views. view comments First Published: July 24, 2025, 09:39 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
