Raising Cane's is opening 5 restaurants next month. Did your state make the list?
As summer continues, more eateries are expanding, including Raising Cane's. The Baton Rouge, Louisiana-based chain is known for its chicken fingers, Cane's sauce and Texas toast. According to a Raising Cane's representative, new locations are opening in four different states next month, including California, Nevada, Illinois and Florida. Here's what to know about next month's Raising Cane's openings and where they'll be. Which states are getting new Raising Cane's locations? New locations will open: What is Raising Cane's known for? The company sells chicken sandwiches and chicken finger combos including crinkle-cut fries, Texas Toast, coleslaw and Cane's sauce, which the company said is made with a "special blend of spices." Raising Cane's owner Todd Graves initially planned to call his restaurant Sockeye's, a nod to the salmon he once fished in Alaska. However, a friend suggested he name the company after his yellow Labrador Retriever, Raising Cane, who spent lots of time at the construction site of the first Raising Cane's location at the north gates of Louisiana State University. The dog, Cane I, served as the company's mascot until he died in 1998, according to the company. He was friendly and loved to wear Graves' sunglasses, the company said. Raising Cane's second mascot, Cane II, stepped into her role in 1999. She was a therapy dog who visited hospital patients around the country. As the company mascot, Cane II spent time at the company's Restaurant Support Office and attended community events until 2016. Most recently, Cane III, born in 2017, was appointed mascot. "She loves visiting Raising Cane's Restaurants and receiving belly rubs from crewmembers," the company said, noting that Raising Cane's fans can follow her on social media at @RaisingCane3. Saquon Barkley is rightfully nominated for three ESPY Awards
Saquon Barkley's big year earns him multiple ESPY Award nominations. It's hard to envision someone having a better year than Saquon Barkley is having. He attended the Philadelphia Eagles' Super Bowl victory parade. He earned an extension. He has appeared on Good Morning America and The Tonight Show. He even worked a shift at a Raising Cane's in the drive-thru window, and that's just some of what he has been up to since the Super Bowl wrapped. His victory lap continues. The ESPY Awards approach, and the reigning NFL Offensive Player of the Year's name is on the ballot in three different categories. He's nominated for Best Athlete – Men's Sports. He's up for Best Play, and of course, he's among the choices for Best NFL Player. Other nominees for best men's sports athlete include Buffalo Bills quarterback and NFL MVP Josh Allen. Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is on the list. So is the Los Angeles Dodgers' do-it-all man. Shohei Ohtani. The Best NFL Player award pits him vs. Allen, Denver Broncos CB Patrick Surtain II, and Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson. In the Best Moment category, his reverse hurdle must beat out Trinity Rodman's overtime goal that sent the United States' Women's National Team to the Olympic semifinals, Tyrese Haliburton's game-winning shot in the first game of the NBA Finals, and Sabrina Ionescu's three-point shot that won game three in the WNBA Finals. This may not sound very objective, but it just feels like he should be the favorite to win all three awards, although we know things never seem to work out that way. Watch the ESPYs on ABC. The date is July 11 at 8 p.m. EST.

Raising Cane's Just Opened Its First Location In This Southern City
When Raising Cane's opened its first location in Southaven, Mississippi this week, a long line of customers was already waiting. It's no wonder, because the new restaurant gave 20 lucky customers free Cane's for a year, according to WREG in Memphis. The Louisiana-based chicken chain is known for chicken fingers dipped in Cane's Sauce, a proprietary and top-secret recipe. Combos come with a side of crinkle-cut fries, cole slaw, and Texas toast. WREG says a 10-year-old, Adam Hamed, got his parents to drive him from out of town at 6 a.m. for a chance at free chicken. The store opened at 10 and Hamed was 83rd in line. 'It's the sauce and the chicken tenders. That's what I love — the sauce,' said Hamed. As for the woman who was first in line, Suzette Hughes from Milington, she slept outside the door. 'There is no place like Cane's… no place like Cane's… no place like Cane's,' she told WREG. 'I got here last night, about 8 last night, camped on the sidewalk. Had my blowup queen-size air bed. That's where I slept.' Those who didn't win a year's worth of chicken still got something for their efforts. The chicken chain gave out a commemorative hat and free box combo card to the first 100 buyers of a combo. Raising Cane's has added more than 800 locations since the original restaurant opened near LSU's campus in 1996. Read the original article on Southern Living

These 10 restaurant chains have the happiest workers, study finds
Among the nation's major restaurant chains, In-N-Out is still supreme when it comes to the satisfaction of its workers, according to a new study. The California-based burger chain took the top spot for a 10th straight year, according to an analysis by William Blair, an investment bank and financial services company. The annual report spans 11 years and is built on over 530,000 reviews of almost 90 restaurant brands, according to Nation's Restaurant News. This year's study found that when they weren't serving up Double-Doubles and Animal-Style fries, 91 percent of In-N-Out workers would recommend the job to a friend. The percentage marked a 5 percent jump from last year's study, according to industry publication QSR Magazine. The top three chains when it comes to employee satisfaction remained unchained from 2024 to 2025, with In-N-Out followed by Raising Cane's and Dutch Bros. Hardee's was the lowest-ranked brand at 39 percent. See the top 10 below: Rank Chain Recommendation Percentage 1. In-N-Out 91% 2. Raising Cane's 82% 3. Dutch Bros 78% 4. Chuy's 78% 5. Peet's Coffee & Tee 76% 6. Caribou Coffee 74% 7. Lazy Dog 74% 8. Portillo's 73% 9. Longhorn Steakhouse 73% 10. Chick-fil-A 72% In-N-Out is the only chain that has been in the top 10 every year for a decade, according to William Blair's analysis. So what is it that's making workers at In-N-Out, Raising Cane's and others feel good about their job? Getting a raise isn't everything, according to the study. In fact, the authors found that compensation and benefits had the lowest correlation of six measured attributes, according to Nation's Restaurant News. The top factors were instead culture/values, senior management and work/life balance. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. Building demolition underway for new Midtown Nashville Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers spot
Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers draws some devoted fans. Among them are stars, including Post Malone, who collaborated with the fast food chicken chain to open a custom-designed pink Raising Cane's in Midvale, Utah. Plenty are regular people, such as Suzette Hughes of Millington, Tenn., who camped out for 14 hours to be the first customer at a new Memphis location. And soon, Nashville's newest location, which will be at 1819 Broadway in Midtown, will earn plenty of attention from downtown workers and students at nearby Vanderbilt University. Nashville's newest Raising Cane's will be at 1819 Broadway in Midtown in a parcel next to Red Door Saloon. The building, actively under demolition on June 10, was previously home to Crye-Leike Realtors. Once complete, Raising Cane's new build will encompass nearly 6,000 square feet. City permits indicate the new spot will have walk-up and indoor service with space for outside dining. There is no word yet on what kind of decorative flair Nashville's newest Raising Cane's will have, if any. Though all of the stores have murals, nodding to the design of the first Raising Cane's in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, some are flashier in design than others. For example, Tennessee's flagship location, which opened on Lower Broadway a year ago, boasts a five-foot-six-inch tall statue of the yellow labrador that serves as the restaurant's namesake and two locally built guitars custom-made for Johnny and June Cash. But, as with the nearly 900 locations throughout the country, this store will boast chicken fingers — and lots of them — served with Texas toast, French fries and on a toasted bun.
