Chakravarti Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan, television's grand historical epic, continues to captivate audiences with tremendous storytelling, grand visuals, and strong performances. The show recounts the extraordinary journey of one of India's most legendary monarchs. The show recently witnessed a historic moment: King Someshwar's Rajya Abhishek. Ronit Roy exclusively detailed the track with Times Of India TV. Here's what he shared: Ronit quipped, "We know that the elder brother of King Abhijit Nair has passed away, and he's crowned Someshwar, the next king. And, of course, the king's son wanted to be crowned. That's why he killed his father. And that didn't happen. So, the mother, of course, is in cohorts with him, and she wants the son to ascend the throne." He shared details about the upcoming track, "The further drama is that. Now, what will happen? So, in the process, Someshwar is training his son Prithviraj to become a warrior, not to become a king. To become a good ruler and, you know, become a good human being. And, of course, there is always the imminent danger of the Gurids attacking. So, all the drama is being played out over the next week or so." When asked about playing a king on TV, what makes Historical drama different from the daily soap, "So, I mean, it's like playing any other character. It's not much different. And, of course, you know, you feel different because you are wearing clothes that you would not normally wear on a regular day. So, that's the difference. The look is different. The setting is different. But apart from that, playing this character or playing any other character, there is not much difference in terms of building a character. As he is crowned king, the kingdom looks to him with hope and reverence, setting the stage for a new chapter in the royal lineage of Ajmer. Talking about the track, Ronit Bose Roy shared, 'Portraying King Someshwar has been an incredibly enriching experience for me — not just as an actor but as a person. He's a man of profound integrity, who carries the weight of the kingdom with quiet strength and wisdom. The Rajya Abhishek sequence is an emotional milestone in the show, and it hit me on a very personal level. As an actor, I've always been drawn to roles that challenge me internally, and this one definitely did. I remember standing on set during the coronation scene, with the grand costumes, the heavy crown, the chants echoing around — and for a moment, there was complete stillness. It transported me. It didn't feel like a scene being shot. It felt like I was genuinely stepping into the shoes of a king whose every move mattered. Playing him has reminded me why I became an actor in the first place — to tell stories that matter, and to lose myself in characters that have something profound to say.' Ronit Roy bags his first Hollywood project!
