One electrocuted, 3 injured during Muharram preparation in Giridih
1 2 Bokaro: A youth died and three others sustained serious burn injuries when a Tazia came in contact with a 11,000-volt high tension wire while they were preparing for Muharram procession in Giridih district on Sunday. The incident occurred around 11.30 am at Changosingha village. The deceased was identified as Mohammad Azad. "Some people were placing the Tazia when it came in contact with the high-tension wire. A person was killed and three others were injured," Giridih deputy commissioner Ramnivas Yadav told PTI. Dhanwar's block development officer, Devender Kumar Das said that the administration will extend support to the families. "This is an unfortunate event," he said. "Probe will be conducted to find out if the wire was installed at a safe height. Also, the height of Tazia need to be probed," said an official.

Muharram 2025: One dead, three injured in electrocution incident in Jharkhand's Giridih
One person lost their life and three others sustained injuries after accidentally coming into contact with a high-tension wire while making preparations for a Muharram procession in Jharkhand's Giridih district on Sunday, officials confirmed. The mishap occurred around 11:30 am in the Chakosingha area, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Ghodthambha Police Outpost, located approximately 200 km from Ranchi, the state capital. According to Giridih Deputy Commissioner Ramnivas Yadav, the incident happened when the top part of a 'Tazia' structure touched a live wire while it was being positioned. 'One individual died, and three others were injured when the Tazia made contact with a high-tension wire during the procession preparations,' Yadav stated.
