Rays Get 3 Homers, Strong Start From Pepiot To Avoid Sweep With 6-5 Win Over Athletics
Josh Lowe, Yandy Díaz, and rookie Jake Mangum homered, Ryan Pepiot posted a quality start, and Tampa Bay avoided a three-game sweep with a 6–5 win over the Athletics on Wednesday afternoon. Trailing 2–1 entering the bottom of the sixth, the Rays batted around and scored five runs. Lowe's leadoff shot tied the contest, Brandon Lowe followed with a double to extend his major-league-leading hitting streak to 18 games, and Díaz put Tampa Bay ahead with a two-run homer. Pepiot (6–6) pitched six innings, allowing four hits and two runs – on Brent Rooker and Max Schuemann solo homers – walking three with nine strikeouts. He fanned five of his last six batters. Mangum got the Rays on the board with an inside-the-park homer, crushing a slider to the deepest part of the park just out of reach of center fielder Denzel Clarke. The first such homer by a Rays player in two years, it was the 24th in franchise history. Max Muncy also homered for the As, which got three hits from Schuemann. KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Danny Jansen hit a two-run home run and finished with three RBIs, Taj Bradley pitched two-hit ball for 6 2/3 scoreless innings and the Tampa Bay Rays beat the Kansas City Royals 5-1 on Tuesday night. Yandy Díaz and Jonathan Aranda had three hits apiece for the Rays.

Walls, Diaz lift Rays to 8-4 victory, series win over Mets
Taylor Walls and Yandy Díaz had two hits and two RBIs apiece and the Tampa Bay Rays remained hot with an 8-4 win over the New York Mets on Saturday. Junior Caminero homered to lead off a five-run fourth inning for Tampa Bay, which has won eight of its last 11 games and leads the majors with a 17-6 record and 134 runs scored since May 20. Josh Lowe and Brandon Lowe each finished with two hits and an RBI. Drew Rasmussen (6-4) won his fifth straight decision despite allowing seven hits and four runs in five innings. He struck out three. He had allowed two runs over 29 innings in his previous five starts. Brandon Nimmo had three hits and two RBIs while Brett Baty and Ronny Mauricio each homered for the Mets, who lost consecutive games for the first time since a three-game skid from May 18-20.
