Junior Caminero homered to lead off a five-run fourth inning for Tampa Bay, which has won eight of its last 11 games and leads the majors with a 17-6 record and 134 runs scored since May 20.
Josh Lowe and Brandon Lowe each finished with two hits and an RBI.
Drew Rasmussen (6-4) won his fifth straight decision despite allowing seven hits and four runs in five innings. He struck out three. He had allowed two runs over 29 innings in his previous five starts.
Brandon Nimmo had three hits and two RBIs while Brett Baty and Ronny Mauricio each homered for the Mets, who lost consecutive games for the first time since a three-game skid from May 18-20.
The series loss is the first for New York since it dropped two of three against the Boston Red Sox from May 19-21.
The Mets are one of three teams who have not been swept in a series this season, along with the New York Yankees and Cincinnati Reds.
Tylor Megill (5-5) gave up six runs (three earned) in 3 2/3 innings. He struck out five.

Chargers LB Denzel Perryman released from police custody following gun charges
Los Angeles Chargers linebacker Denzel Perryman has been released from police custody, and the L.A. County District Attorney's Office has declined to press charges, according to public records. Perryman was released from custody at 2:03 p.m. PT Monday, according to records. Authorities arrested Perryman on Friday for multiple gun violations, the L.A. County Sheriff's department said in a statement. Ron Butler, Perryman's agent, confirmed Monday that charges had been dropped. County Sheriff's Department said 'South Los Angeles Station deputies conducted a traffic stop' on Perryman at 9:30 p.m. Friday for 'vehicle code violations.' 'During the traffic stop deputies discovered five firearms in Mr. Perryman's vehicle, two of which were assault style rifles,' the statement continued. 'He was arrested and booked on weapons violation charges and was cooperative with deputies.' Perryman was held without bail at the South Los Angeles Sheriff's Station, according to the statement. Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh said earlier Monday that he visited Perryman in jail on Sunday. Harbaugh addressed media before Perryman was released from custody. 'He was in good spirits,' Harbaugh said. 'I love Denzel. He's always done right. He's never been in trouble. Got a beautiful family, and we're just letting the due process play out.' Perryman, 32, was drafted by the Chargers in 2015. He spent his first six NFL seasons with the organization before stops with the Las Vegas Raiders and Houston Texans. He returned to the Chargers on a one-year deal for 2024. He re-signed with the team this past March on a one-year deal.

49ers receiver Jauan Jennings (calf) remains out of practice
Before training camp opened, reports emerged that 49ers receiver Jauan Jennings wanted a new contract or a trade. He didn't hold out. He could be holding in. Jennings suffered a calf injury during training camp on July 27. (It apparently was an aggravation of an offseason injury.) He has yet to practice since then. On Monday, 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan was asked about Jennings's ongoing absence. 'Same thing with his calf," Shanahan said. Shanahan then was asked if it's "definitely health-related, not business-related"? 'You can ask him that, but he tells me it's his calf and the calf shows," Shanahan said. "So, got to be delicate with those calves.' It could be a combination of health and business. If Jennings was happy with his contract, maybe he'd push through it. Because he isn't happy with his contract, he isn't. Jennings is in the second year of a two-year, $11.89 million contract. The contract was surprisingly light, given that he had a Super Bowl LVIII performance that had him on the short list of potential MVP candidates, before the 49ers lost to the Chiefs. Last year, Jennings had a career-high 77 catches for 975 yards and six touchdowns. With Deebo Samuel gone and Brandon Aiyuk still recovering from a torn ACL suffered during the 2024 season, Jennings seems to merit an increase. He may not be doing much until he gets one.

Reese Olson injury update: Tigers pitcher doesn't need shoulder surgery, hopes for return
Detroit Tigers right-hander Reese Olson is sidelined with his second shoulder injury in as many years and ruled out for the remainder of the regular season. Now he's just hoping the Tigers will make a deep postseason run. If that happens, Olson could pitch again in 2025. If not, he won't pitch until 2026. "Hopefully, the boys make a deep run into October, and I can contribute at some point in October," Olson said Monday, Aug. 4, just seven days after the Tigers ruled him out for the regular season. "That's what everyone mentioned when I first got hurt. We've got some good news going there." It's another year with a right shoulder injury, but the right shoulder strain he suffered in July 2024 isn't the same injury as the right shoulder strain that has sidelined him in July 2025. "A little bit different," Olson said. He doesn't know what led to the latest shoulder injury. "You don't want to be labeled as a guy who gets hurt all the time," Olson said. "I guess I got to look at my routine. I feel like I do everything I need to stay healthy. I feel like I do the same, if not more, than some guys that stay healthy. It's just frustrating. I just chalk it up to bad luck." An MRI showed a right shoulder strain. "It sucks to sit on the sidelines," Olson said, "but I'm going to do everything I can to get back out there." Olson hopes to return to the Tigers during the postseason, even if that means coming out of the bullpen. "I want to contribute to the team," Olson said. "No matter what that's going to look like in October — it's probably not going to be starting, but if I can get back and contribute in any way possible, I hope to do that."
