Diljit Dosanjh's fluent interview in English irks netizens amid Hania-Sardaar Ji 3 controversy: ‘Everything is a lie'
Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh has been trending online since the last few days but sadly not for the right reasons. He is being brutally trolled across social media by netizens who are hurt that Diljit is sharing the screen with Pakistani actor Hania Aamir in his upcoming film Sardaar Ji 3. A few months ago after the Pahalgam terror attack, rumours were rife that Hania, who was all set for her Bollywood debut, would be replaced in Diljit's film as Pak actors were banned. However, when the trailer was shared, fans were introduced to Hania as a prominent character in Sardaar Ji 3. This is because the film was shot before the war-like situation between India and Pakistan. Amid this controversy, an interview of Diljit has now surfaced online where he can be seen speaking in English. Diljit Dosanjh and Hania Aamir For the longest time, Diljit Dosanjh has maintained that his English is not perfect and he often finds it difficult to express himself fluently in the language, opting for Punjabi instead. Even during his car ride with Shakira before the 2025 Met Gala, Diljit was on his phone learning English from Chat GPT in a viral video. Well, a few weeks ago Diljit sat down with Recording Academy/Grammys President Panos A. Panay for a chat. A clip from the same has now surfaced on social media, where the Punjabi star is speaking in English. Netizens, still angry about Hania Aamir's casting in Sardaar Ji 3, are now accusing Diljit of lying that he can't speak in English, calling it all an 'act'. Under a Reddit thread, one social media user claimed, 'When the Grammy President calls, you can no longer continue your act of not knowing English😂,' whereas another comment read, 'His English, marriage, patriotism everything is....I don't know what to call ACT maybe?' A netizen stated, 'Everything about him in the public domain is a lie!!,' whereas another wrote, 'OMG he was acting all along of not knowing english lmao. Such a fake guy 😱😱. Hope they throw him out of border 2. And we have been hyping this man eww, he used india as a cash cow only and fooled us all along . Thank God he's mask has been peeling off slowlys.' A comment also read, 'Loser! Liar! I remember watching so many interviews where he put on a convincing act of not knowing English. How convenient?! The fact that he is married with a child yet continued his public admiration for a much, much younger Kylie Jenner. This man is problematic. And despite the backlash, he's now releasing his film with Hania Amir.' There were some, however, who came out in Diljit's support. One such internet user shared, 'Are ppl dumb to think he knew nothing at all like he literally speaks English in his vlogs and stuff? Hes just comfortable speaking in his language otherwise normally and not so fluent in English. It's not some giant conspiracy or act,' whereas another wrote, 'Go watch the full interview OP, he clearly states at the beginning of this interview to the Grammy President that he doesn't know fluent English, but he's been learning and wants to try speaking it more, hence him doing this interview. So by your logic, a person shouldn't learn new skills, and if they do, they were fibbing lol.' Sardaar Ji 3, also starring Neeru Bajwa, is set to release overseas on June 27. It will not be released in Indian theatres.

Did Beyoncé Indirectly Spark This New Grammy Category?
The Recording Academy has announced some new categories as the industry prepares for the 2026 Grammys. One of which is the sole new country category: Best Traditional Country Album— which means the existing country album category will now be the Best Contemporary Country Album category. Many believe the change was prompted after Beyoncé took home wins for Best Country Duo/Group Performance, Best Country Album, and Album of the Year for COWBOY CARTER. On X, one user noted that this was the second time the Recording Academy introduced new categories following Bey winning in music categories outside of Hip-Hop, R&B, and pop. Culture historian Mikeisha Vaughn tweeted, 'Beyoncé won Best Country Album, so they had to rename/create new categories like Best Contemporary Country Album + Best Traditional Country Album in an attempt to differentiate from 'traditional' (white) country music. Go racism!' Music/culture journalist Njera Perkins commented, 'That 'Cowboy Carter' win really pissed folks off huh? Way to move the goalpost.' Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. explained to Billboard, 'The community of people that are making country music in all different subgenres came to us with a proposal and said we would like to have more variety in how our music is honored. They said, we think we need more space for our music to be celebrated and honored.' He noted that the switch will align country categories with other genres that already differentiate contemporary from traditional albums and performances. 'It makes country parallel with what's happening in other genres,' Mason continued, 'But it is also creating space for where this genre is going.' The goal is for this new category to benefit artists who fall outside of mainstream, commercial country music. Mason did confirm the proposal for Best Traditional Country Album had been previously submitted several times before finally being approved this year. Mariah Carey Earns Her First New Hit In More Than A Decade
Mariah Carey debuts "Type Dangerous" at No. 47 on the Radio Songs chart, earning her first ... More non-holiday airplay hit in over a decade and her fortieth overall on the list. LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - FEBRUARY 04: Mariah Carey speaks onstage during the 66th GRAMMY Awards at Arena on February 04, 2024 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo byfor The Recording Academy) Getty Images for The Recording Academy For more than a decade, Mariah Carey was one of the most reliable hitmakers on American radio. The R&B and pop superstar churned out smash after smash, and radio programmers and DJs eagerly awaited anything new from the singer, knowing it was likely to appeal to a massive audience. Over time, as is always the case, Carey's power at radio dwindled. Recently, her success has largely been limited to her holiday fare. Thankfully, the chanteuse's latest release has reversed that trend, and it earns a lofty airplay debut upon its arrival — the kind Carey hasn't claimed in more than a decade. "Type Dangerous," Carey's brand new single, debuts at No. 47 on Billboard's Radio Songs chart. The ranking details the tracks that reach the largest total audience throughout a single tracking frame across all radio formats. Billboard notes that as it debuts, "Type Dangerous" earns the singer her first placement on the competitive roster in more than a decade. Her last entry came in 2013 when she was joined by Miguel on "#Beautiful." That tune ended up soaring to No. 17. Since then, it's been staples like "All I Want for Christmas Is You" and other older hits (to a lesser extent) that have kept her on the airwaves. As it arrives, "Type Dangerous" gives Carey her milestone fortieth career hit on the Radio Songs chart. That total includes 24 top 10s and 11 No. 1s. Several of her chart-toppers ruled for double-digit frames, including "We Belong Together" (16 weeks), "One Sweet Day" with Boyz II Men (13), "Dreamlover" (11), and both "Hero" and "Someday" (10 each). "Type Dangerous" is a quick success at radio, debuting on five different airplay tallies at the same time. The tune opens at No. 7 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay list, which is an incredible starting point for any track, as it's relatively rare for cuts to open inside the top 10 on radio lists. The newly-launched track also becomes a quick top 40 win on several other charts, as it appears at No. 15 on the Adult R&B Airplay chart, No. 24 on the Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay ranking, and No. 31 on Rhythmic Airplay roster.

Diljit Dosanjh says, 'We need to look beyond nations and focus on Mother Earth', amidst trolling for 'Sardaarji 3' with Hania Aamir: 'Countries are at war...but..'
Diljit Dosanjh is set to star alongside Hania Aamir in 'Sardaarji 3'. The actor, singer just dropped the trailer of the film, but was heavily trolled for working with Hania. There were speculations whether Hania will be a part of the film after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam. Post that, the tensions between India and Pakistan exaggerated further. However, it is now confirmed that Hania is very much the female lead in the film along with Neeru Bajwa. The film will release only overseas and not in India after Pakistani artists are banned here. Diljit got trolled for the same. Amidst the trolling, in an interview with Grammy with Recording Academy President Panos, Diljit spoke about art having no boundaries. He said, "Countries are at war, and we don't have control over these things. But I believe music is something that unites nations. I feel blessed to be part of something that spreads love across nations.' He added further, "I think we need to look beyond nations and focus on Mother Earth. All these borders are part of the same Mother Earth, and I belong to her.' Diljit quoted a line by his Guru and said, "Hum aadmi hain ek daami (We humans are here only for a brief moment). We are here for very limited time, we should not waste our time fighting with each other.' He further added, "Politics is different space, I don't want to make blunders by speaking out of turn. But for me, every second is precious, and I want to live it to the fullest.'
