Man Utd announce four more squad number changes as transfer becomes official
Manchester United have so far only signed two new faces this summer but there has been plenty of change behind the scenes with a host of stars selecting new squad numbers Manchester United have confirmed that four stars have decided to change squad numbers following a major reshuffle. The Red Devils had already announced that Marcus Rashford had given up the club's iconic number 10 shirt, with summer signing Matheus Cunha claiming the digit. And it has now been announced that Diogo Dalot has chosen to change his shirt number ahead of the 2025/26 Premier League campaign. The Portuguese defender will now don the number two shirt as a Red Devil. He has claimed the digit from Swedish centre-back Victor Lindelof, who vacated the shirt at the end of last season with his contract expiring. Dalot, 26, has donned 20 since his arrival from Porto in 2018. Previous owners of the number two shirt include Brazilian right-back Rafael and iconic former star Gary Neville. Dalot's change is not the only alteration behind the scenes. The Red Devils have also confirmed that youngster Shea Lacey has claimed 61, Bendito Mantato will now wear 70, while Reece Munro has switched to 65. United have also completed a deal for young defender Sonny Aljofree to join League Two side Notts County on loan. He penned a new deal with the club before departing. Another man who signed on the dotted line this summer is Cunha, who has since chosen the number 10 shirt. "Yeah, wow. It's something that you always dream about [wearing the No. 10]," Cunha said about his new number. "I can mention many players that use this shirt. It's so easy for me. "Of course, I think the one that I always think about when I see this number in this shirt for me was Wayne Rooney. He was someone that I grew up to watch him play and I have [watched] many games now. "Then I swapped shirts with Marcus [Rashford, after a game] also, I have his shirt in my home. But, of course, we know many players used this shirt -- [Ruud] van Nistelrooy, [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic." He added: "It's the dream not only to use the shirt, but with all the history they have around the number, it's something beautiful that I have the privilege to do it. "With every single number, it will be a pleasure to use the shirt. But, yeah, with this one it's something different. Then, of course, the responsibility is coming, and I hope I can do everything like goals, assists and help the team." Man Utd chiefs 'surprised' over new £2bn stadium decision after Ratcliffe call
Manchester United have been surprised that Foster and Partners', who they have hired to build their new £2billion stadium, have also chosen to take on the redevelopment of the San Siro. Manchester United have been surprised that Foster and Partners - the architecture firm who will build their new £2billion 100,00-seater stadium - has also opted to take on the redevelopment of the San Siro. Those in Manchester have fears over whether the company, does not have offices in Milan or Manchester and are based in London, will have the resources to take on two mammoth projects. Sir Norman Foster's relationship with Sir Jim Ratcliffe was key in the firm being picked to design the Red Devil's new stadium, which is due to cost around £2billion. Foster has said the project will take five years, but with the iconic Italian stadium now also on their to do list, City AM has claimed that there is concern over how they will manage both assignments. The Premier League giants confirmed their plans to leave Old Trafford and move to a new 100,000-seater stadium back in March. The new stadium will be the largest in the UK and built on club-owned land adjacent to Old Trafford. Ratcliffe said the intention is to create "an iconic football stadium". The Ineos chief said: "By building next to the existing site, we will be able to preserve the essence of Old Trafford, while creating a truly state-of-the-art stadium that transforms the fan experience only footsteps from our historic home." Ratcliffe also said: "The north of England has won 10 Champions League medals, London has two. But London has Wembley, Twickenham, Wimbledon and the Olympic Village. The north of England deserves a stadium where England can play football, where we can hold the Champions League final, and one befitting of Manchester United's stature." The design for the new stadium in Manchester is an a very early stage, consisting so far of some conceptual videos and images rather than detailed plans. AC Milan and Inter Milan have confirmed they will redevelop the San Siro, which remains one of the most historic stadiums in the world and hosted the Champions League final as recently as 2016. The Milan stadium project is a long-running saga. Previous plans for a 60,000-capacity stadium inspired by the city's Duomo called 'Cathedral' in 2019 was abandoned after the clubs failed to get the backing of the local authority and they have now had to look elsewhere for the redesign. Milan and Inter had announced plans to pursue separate stadium builds before coming back together last year in a joint redevelopment project on the site of the San Siro.

🎥 Celebrate Kevin de Bruyne's birthday with this UCL stunner
Few players have commanded the level of reverence that Kevin De Bruyne has earned across his glistening career. From Genk prodigy to Chelsea unwanted, Bundesliga stardom with Bremen and Wolfsburg, and ultimately, Man City legend, the Belgian great is unquestionably one of the top attacking midfielders in recent decades, if not longer. Advertisement But his time at Manchester City will no doubt see him remembered as an all-timer both for the club and the Premier League at large, with his influence extended to the continent in the Champions League. A stunning long-range effort from the Ghent native against Real Madrid is one of the best of his career, with a blockbuster strike beating fellow Red Devil Thibaut Courtois to earn City a 1-1 first-leg draw at a silenced Bernabéu, setting them up for a 4-0 thrashing of the Spanish giants a week later. Man City would go on to claim UCL honours with a 1-0 win over Inter the following month to finally put a rubber stamp on the club's continental ambitions, with KDB at the heart of it all. Advertisement And with today being the day of his birthday, despite his move to Napoli, De Bruyne's legacy at the Etihad remains cemented. 📸 Julian Finney - 2023 Getty Images

'Cursed' ghost town theme park in the hills lies abandoned with chilling explanation
'Cursed' ghost town theme park in the hills lies abandoned with chilling explanation The once-bustling amusement park is now an eerie bastion of faded splendour It drew visitors from far and wide with its unique attractions A chillingly abandoned "ghost town in the sky", which captivated crowds in its heyday, now lies deserted amid the hills of North Carolina, having succumbed to financial woes over ten years ago. Left to decay under the mercy of the weather, the Old West-inspired amusement park, previously a magnet for movie stars and stunt performers, now languishes as a haunting reminder of former grandeur. Yet, there might be a glimmer of hope for its revival. One particularly daunting rollercoaster rises above desolate saloons at Buck Mountain's summit, at an impressive elevation of 4,650 feet. Local travel outlet Blue Ridge Mountain Life noted that some have dubbed Ghost Town Village as a "cursed amusement park." The concept of the attraction originally came about when the land was purchased from a townsman known as Uncle Dan Carpenter back in 1960. The narrative has it that R.B. Coburn stumbled upon the tale of Carpenter's sheep being lost in a vast cave on Buck Mountain, as reported by The Sun, reports the Mirror US. This Western-themed park quickly became a beloved destination (Image: Youtube ) Coburn, intrigued, sought out Carpenter who then revealed the location where his sheep had gone missing, sparking the vision for the park. Inspired by his experiences in the ghost towns of the Midwest, Coburn envisaged transforming this site into a time capsule for visitors. Article continues below The construction of the park was a Herculean task that saw the concerted effort of more than two hundred locals come together to erect about 40 constructions at the pinnacle of the mountain to comprise the ethereal township. Approximately 120,000 square feet of construction emerged, utilising 91,000 metres of lumber, 60,000 metres of plywood, and a staggering 9,000 kg of nails. The park threw open its gates in 1961, rapidly establishing itself as a premier destination in Western North Carolina and becoming a hub for TV western stars from series like Laramie and Wagon Train to shoot their scenes. Audiences were particularly captivated by the staged gunfights that took place hourly on the main street, with the unique selling point being the rides darting in and out of the mountain's flanks. One rollercoaster was called the Red Devil (Image: Youtube ) However, over time, the attraction began to deteriorate, leading to a decline in visitor numbers, akin to falling off a cliff. The park was further beset by infrastructural woes, including issues with water, power and sewage systems. Workers also started airing their concerns regarding unpaid wages, culminating in the park ceasing operations after the 2009 season. Yet, there is a glimmer of hope on the horizon according to the National Amusement Park Historical Association. Despite being dubbed the "cursed amusement park" by Blue Ridge Mountain Life, owing to numerous failed attempts at revival, salvation may be at hand. On May 9, a post on NAPHA's Facebook page disclosed that an interested party from Florida is considering the purchase of the now-defunct theme park. That very post also indicated that the proprietor, Jill McClure, is keen to sell it for use as an entertainment venue rather than to interests with different intentions. Article continues below However, the site has reportedly been earmarked for a housing development instead. The new owner reportedly intends to revamp the area into "a venue featuring country music, rodeos, and festivals, aiming to keep the park family-friendly."

Man Utd target Real Madrid star as Ramsus Hojlund transfer twist emerges
Manchester United made a fast start to the summer transfer window by signing Matheus Cunha for £62.5million, but the Red Devils have found it more difficult in pursuing their next targets Manchester United fans are having to be patient for their next signing, with Matheus Cunha's arrival yet to be followed up. The Red Devils triggered the Brazilian's £62.5million release clause to bring him in from Wolves and quickly turned their attention to Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo. But acquiring Mbeumo has proven more difficult. Brentford are demanding at least £60m for the Cameroon international, who's already indicated that he wants to join United over other potential suitors. Old Trafford chiefs are reluctant to pay that amount given that they haven't been able to sanction a big sale so far this summer. Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Antony and Alejandro Garnacho could all bring in significant funds, but finding buyers for the attacking quartet is no easy task. Ruben Amorim's focus isn't just on Mbeumo either, with the Red Devils' goalkeeping situation uncertain. Emiliano Martinez is claimed to be United's priority but Amorim and Co. have alterantives who could challenge Andre Onana for the No.1 spot - or even replace him. Here's a round-up of the latest transfer news from Old Trafford. Real Madrid star targeted Manchester United have identified Real Madrid goalkeeper Andriy Lunin as an alternative to top target Emiliano Martinez, according to reports in Spain. As reported by Spanish outlet Defensa Central, United have spoken to Lunin's agent, Jorge Mendes, about a deal for the 26-year-old. But they only want to pay £13m, a far cry from Real's asking price of around £20m. Should Manchester United sign Andriy Lunin? Have your say in the comments section. Hojlund twist emerges Napoli have reportedly joined Italian rivals Inter Milan in the race to sign Rasmus Hojlund. Inter were installed as the favourites to sign Hojlund, 22, earlier this month but now Napoli are claimed to have held talks. Antonio Conte is looking to bolster his forward line with already includes a former Red Devil in Romelu Lukaku.
