The discussions also covered ongoing efforts to reach a permanent ceasefire in Gaza and ensure the immediate and adequate delivery of humanitarian aid to the Strip. Additionally, the two ministers discussed regional and international initiatives aimed at ensuring the upcoming Saudi-French-led international conference in New York yields practical outcomes that advance the goal of a just and lasting peace based on the two-state solution. Safadi stressed the importance of more countries recognizing the State of Palestine as a reaffirmation of their commitment to the two-state solution. They also addressed the latest developments in Syria. Safadi highlighted the need to support the Syrian government in reconstruction efforts based on principles that safeguard Syria's unity, security, and stability, eliminate terrorism, and preserve the rights of all Syrians. Safadi expressed appreciation for Finland's efforts to promote security and stability in the region. Both ministers agreed to maintain ongoing cooperation and coordination in service of their countries' mutual interests.

The event gathered young Jordanian leaders, government entities, and national institutions to reaffirm Jordan's commitment to integrating youth as key partners in shaping the present and future through a human rights lens. Constitutional and Legislative Reforms Al-Abdallat highlighted tangible government measures to realize this vision, including constitutional amendments, lowering the age of candidacy, and modernizing laws that enhance youth participation in political, social, and economic spheres. Crown Prince's Global Role He emphasized Crown Prince Hussein's pioneering international efforts, notably his leadership in promoting UN Security Council Resolution 2250 on Youth, Peace, and Security. 'The Crown Prince was the first to champion this resolution globally, calling on governments and the international community to recognize youth as peacebuilders, not just victims of conflict,' Al-Abdallat said. Alignment with International Obligations He also noted the government's alignment with international human rights commitments, particularly the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) recommendations, which call for enhanced youth involvement in public life, climate action, development, and human rights. In a direct message to young people, Al-Abdallat urged them to play a vital role in protecting human rights and upholding the values of good citizenship, asserting that they are the 'backbone of the modern state and the true guardians of justice, equality, and human dignity as envisioned by His Majesty.' Civil Society Collaboration Noha Mehrez, President of Tadamon, underscored the importance of engaging with decision-makers, particularly government units like the Human Rights Unit, given the critical role of civil society in implementing national strategies. In'am Asha, Executive Director and Advisor at Tadamon, said that the ongoing series of Youth and Technology Conferences reflect the organization's commitment to executing national programs and political will through sustained partnerships between civil society and official institutions. Dr. Zohour Gharaibeh, Project Manager of 'Sawt,' highlighted the significance of enhancing women's and youth participation in politics, aligning with the outcomes of Jordan's Political Modernization Committee. Ruba Matarneh, Secretary General of the Jordanian National Women's Committees Network, stressed the value of coordination among civil society organizations. She noted that unified efforts amplify impact and improve policy influence and government accountability, especially concerning youth and women's engagement in public life.

Bahrain's Youth Minister Highlights Kingdom's Empowerment Efforts at UN ECOSOC Youth Forum
Her Excellency Mrs. Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, represented the Kingdom of Bahrain at the opening session of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) Youth Forum held at the UN Headquarters in New York, USA. The forum was held under the theme: 'Working with and for Youth to Develop Inclusive and Sustainable Solutions for the 2030 Agenda.' On the sidelines of the forum, Minister Tawfiqi took part in a ministerial meeting organized by the UN Office of the Secretary-General's Envoy on Youth, focused on enhancing youth participation in policymaking and decision-making processes. In her address, Minister Tawfiqi emphasized that empowering youth and integrating them into decision-making is a cornerstone for building more inclusive and sustainable societies. She noted that involving young people in shaping policies that directly affect their lives reflects trust in their capabilities and creative potential. The Minister also participated in a panel discussion titled 'Effective Youth Engagement in the Workforce,' where she showcased Bahrain's pioneering experience in youth sector development. She explained that the Ministry of Youth Affairs has transitioned from merely implementing programs to acting as a facilitator and enabler, which has led to the establishment of 23 youth-led associations specializing in areas such as talent management, leadership, and innovation. She pointed out that many of these initiatives are run by young volunteers, allowing them to gain valuable experience and skills, eventually preparing them to serve as mentors for future generations. Minister Tawfiqi reiterated Bahrain's commitment to enabling youth to contribute meaningfully to addressing national challenges and strengthening their roles within institutions, thus building a resilient and sustainable youth ecosystem. During her visit, the Minister also attended the commemoration of the 10th anniversary of the adoption of UN Security Council Resolution 2250 (2015), which acknowledges the role of youth in promoting peace and security. Additionally, she participated in a special event hosted by the Russian Federation Mission, which focused on Russian policies supporting and empowering youth. On the sidelines of the forum, Minister Tawfiqi held several high-level meetings with senior UN officials, including Mr. Dennis Francis, President of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly, and Mr. Felipe Paullier, the UN Assistant Secretary-General for Youth Affairs. These engagements reflect Bahrain's active international role in promoting youth development and its commitment to achieving the goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
