Rivals Five-Star: The positional MVPs

INDIANAPOLIS – Another Rivals Camp Series is in the books after an impressive Rivals Five-Star event at the Colts' practice facility in Indianapolis on Tuesday. Here is a breakdown of the MVPs at each position. MORE FROM INDY: Highlights and analysis | Teams that should be pleased | Gorney Awards | Biggest surprises RECRUITING INTEL: Mid-South | Florida | West | Southeast | Midwest RIVALS FIVE-STAR MEDIA DAY: All the news, notes and interviews | The All-Lobby Team | How solid are the commitments? | Roster RIVALS FIVE-STAR INTERVIEWS: Jaden O'Neal | Trae Taylor | Chase Calicut | Samu Moala | Jake Kreul | Felix Ojo | Peyton Houston | CJ Sadler | Richard Wesley | JaReylan McCoy | Carter Scruggs | Nolan Wilson | Carson Sneed | Derrek Cooper | Devin Carter | Jayden Wade | Joel Wyatt | Kaden Henderson | Nick Abrams QB MVP: Teddy Jerrad Teddy Jarrard, the Kennesaw (Ga.) North Cobb signal-caller was one of the biggest eye-catchers of the day. He was the quarterback challenge winner with a strong performance in that event, showing off great accuracy and touch. Advertisement He's already 6-foot-4, 200 pounds, but he's also very athletic and he shows off while throwing on the run. He does a good job of layering the football and throwing with anticipation. Jerrad was very consistent all camp long and was a worthy MVP. RB MVP: Derrek Cooper It's tough for running backs to shine in events like this but not all running backs are Derrek Cooper. The Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade Madonna standout just does everything well. He holds his own in run blocking but where he shines is in space. He ran great routes during the one-on-ones and also had a good showing during the 7-on-7 action as well. WR MVP: CJ Sadler CJ Sadler had a terrific showing during the event. He was able to show his ability to get in and out of his breaks quickly during one-on-ones and the 7-on-7 portion of the day. He caught several touchdowns for his team in 7-on-7 and was a consistent and reliable target for his quarterbacks. Advertisement What really stood out to me though was his competitiveness. Sadler can be quiet out there but he gets after it. He also took several reps at defensive back and more than held his own. Some lucky college will get an electric playmaker that can be used in a variety of ways. OL MVP: Kevin Brown Kevin Brown, the future Penn State offensive lineman, usually excels in these settings. Rivals Five-Star was no exception. Brown is very good in pass protection because he's both agile and strong. Power moves didn't really work on him because he's so strong at the point of attack. But finesse moves are difficult for defenders too because he redirects very well. Advertisement Brown won reps all camp long against some of the best defensive line prospects in the country. SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS WITH PENN STATE FANS AT DL MVP: Khary Wilder Picking a defensive line MVP was difficult because there were so many outstanding options but Khary Wilder got the nod. The Ohio State commit consistently beat offensive linemen at the snap and then used a variety of power moves to knock them off balance. Wilder had some of the longest arms of any prospect in attendance, which he used to keep offensive linemen from getting good hand placement. Even if Wilder's first move wasn't successful, his constant motor, aggressive hand techniques and improved strength helped him win nearly all of his one-on-one reps. Advertisement SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS WITH OHIO STATE FANS AT LB MVP: Nick Abrams Linebackers are always at a disadvantage in showcase events like this but Abrams was able to shine in drills, one-on-ones and during the 7-on-7 tournament. The 6-foot-1, 220-pound Maryland native had the speed to keep running backs in check for the majority of the day but what really helped him disrupt quarterbacks and receivers was his length. Abrams had the longest wingspan (83 inches) of any linebacker in attendance and nearly 34-inch arms, which helped him knock down passes that quarterbacks weren't expecting. Advertisement During the 7-on-7 tournament, Abrams was able to show his speed and awareness in space, helping his team win the tournament. DB MVP: Jontavius Wyman The defensive backfield was so deep and nearly all of them made noteworthy plays but Jontavius Wyman got his hands on the ball more than everyone else and consistently forced quarterbacks into bad throws. The Miami commit isn't the biggest defensive back but he has all the traits college and NFL scouts are looking for – elite movement skills, long arms, excellent football instincts and good ball skills. There were multiple plays where Wyman baited quarterbacks into dangerous throws. Despite measuring in under 6-foot, Wyman consistently won in jump ball situations as well. 2 Texas A&M WR commits listed as Top 5 Rivals Camp performers

2 Texas A&M WR commits listed as Top 5 Rivals Camp performers Texas A&M's wide receiver future will depend on quarterback play and, of course, offensive coordinator Collin Klein's performance during the 2025 season. However, if starting QB Marcel Reed improves from the pocket combined with Klein's solid playcalling, the future is very bright for two incoming 2026 wide receiver commits, as four-stars Aaron Gregory and Madden Williams were reportedly two of the top-performing pass-catchers during the Rivals Camp Series. Ahead of the annual Rivals Five-Star event taking place in Indianapolis at the end of the month, Rivals recruiting insider Sam Spiegelman detailed the top performers, which included Gregory and Williams, who both increased their recruiting stock before their official visits this summer. Last weekend, Gregory was one of three Aggie commits to shut down his recruitment. At the same time, Madden Williams, who Florida State is heavily pursuing, will take his official visit to Texas A&M on June 20, his final visit of the summer. Here's what Spiegelman had to say about each player's Rivals camp performances: 2026 4-star WR commit Aaron Gregory "Gregory has been one of the crown jewels of Texas A&M's 2026 recruiting class. After turning in a monster junior season for Douglasville (Ga.) Douglas County, Gregory has enjoyed a sensational offseason, including a strong showing in Atlanta." "The future Aggie has a knack for wow receptions. He's extremely smooth with outstanding polish and the ability to get open. He's a problem for opposing defenses with the ability to work at all different levels of the field." 2026 4-star WR commit Madden Williams "Williams was the Wide Receiver MVP in Los Angeles. Another step forward as a route-runner and playmaker with size, speed and toughness to operate outside the numbers, Williams also flashed more polish and won in various contested-catch situations working on the perimeter and back in the middle of the field. Williams also showed the ability to separate against some elite cornerbacks." "He's another Texas A&M commit who has taken advantage of a big offseason." Gregory's smooth transitions, downfield speed, and soft hands will make him an immediate threat once he finds his groove with the Aggies. At the same time, as Spiegelman notes, Williams has improved as a route runner and could become a nightmare matchup in the middle of the field against zone coverage. Both players, paired with four-star wide receiver commit Mike Brown, currently represent Texas A&M's future at the position. 2026 4-star Edge and Texas A&M commit invited to Rivals Five-Star event

2026 4-star Edge and Texas A&M commit invited to Rivals Five-Star event .@Jordanbcarter22 ✈️ RIVALS FIVE-STAR 4⭐️ Texas A&M commit Jordan Carter is officially LOCKED IN to join 100 of the best prospects in the country to compete in Indianapolis on June 23-24 🔥 — Rivals Camp Series (@RivalsCamp) June 13, 2025 Texas A&M's 2026 recruiting class will be well-represented on the big stage later this month, as four-star quarterback commit Helaman Casuga and four-star Edge rusher Jordan Carter have been invited to compete in the annual Rivals Five-Star event in Indianapolis, Indiana, on June 23-24. Casuga received his invitation on Thursday, while Carter announced that he will head to the Colts Stadium on Friday. This is an impressive feat for Coach Mike Elko and his staff, considering that both players are committed to the program, including Carter's announcement via TexAgs that he has likely shut down his recruitment after his official visit to Texas A&M last weekend. Rival Five-Star is a chance for the top 100 players in the 2026 cycle to compete at the highest level and showcase their elite skillsets to help solidify their standing as the best prospects at their respective positions. Casuga's 6,475 yards and 60 touchdowns during his first two high school seasons booked his ticket, while Carter's 62 tackles, 13 sacks, and 17 tackles for loss during his 2024 junior season are equally eye-popping. According to Rivals, Carter is currently positioned as the 146th-ranked prospect in the 2026 cycle, the 13th-ranked defensive end, and the 19th-ranked prospect in Georgia. Standing at 6'4" and over 230 pounds, Carter's length and elite first step have made him one of the more feared pass rushers in Georgia, and should continue to rise in the recruiting rankings after his 2025 senior season. Knowing Texas A&M's success in developing defensive linemen, it's no surprise that Carter is excited to join the Aggie ranks. Ohio State lands commitment from four-star DE Khary Wilder

Khary Wilder had many other top programs pursuing him but after spending a weekend at Ohio State and talking through the plan with that exceptional coaching staff, the four-star defensive end found his new home. On Tuesday, the four-star defensive end from Gardena (Calif.) Serra committed to the Buckeyes and is not planning any other visits. 'It was just seeing how much of a priority I am for them,' Wilder said. 'Spending time with coach (Larry) Johnson and coach (Ryan) Day, coach (Matt) Patricia and all the coaches, they made me feel like a real priority and like I was really wanted there and that was the place I could call home. 'It was great meeting them. It was great sitting down and hearing their plan for me to dominate throughout my college years, how they see me fitting, my skill set and what I can work on and how I can build on my game to even before I get there and while I'm there, too. 'Coach Johnson was giving me tips and drills on what I could work on now for little things about my game that I could perfect and do better.' Wilder has always had dreams of playing in the pros and the four-star defensive end who shined at the Rivals Camp in Los Angeles and will be at the Rivals Five-Star in a couple weeks is fully aware of all the success the Buckeyes have had across the board especially along the defensive line. He wants to be the next one. 'The NFL has always been the goal, that's been my dream, so seeing coach Johnson and Ohio State's track record of producing top-level d-linemen and NFL defensive ends, just seeing that really motivates me and encourages me,' Wilder said. 'If I'm a priority for them and they want me to come and they see me fitting and playing in their system and they're putting out so many NFL guys at my position, that's one step closer to my dream.' Notre Dame, Washington and UCLA were the other frontrunners but once Wilder finished his Ohio State visit, he knew what he was going to do. 'It was really hard to say no to all of them because they all spent time building a great relationship with me, reaching out, talking to my coaches and my family and making me feel like a priority, too,' Wilder said. 'It was a decision I had to make but I feel very confident in my decision with coach Johnson and coach Day and coach Patricia and their plan for me.'
