2 killed, 6 injured after car rams into parked lorry in Lipis

(PDRM pic) PETALING JAYA : Two people were killed and six others injured when a car crashed into the back of a parked lorry at Km37 of the Lingkaran Tengah Utama highway near Kampung Chegar Perah in Lipis, Pahang, early this morning. Lipis police chief Ismail Man said the 45-year-old driver of the car was travelling with seven family members from Klang to Raja Perempuan Zainab II Hospital in Kota Bharu to visit relatives. Ismail said Roslawati Mat Daud, 50, and Aqif Azfar Azman, six, died at the scene from severe injuries. 'The driver is believed to have lost control of the vehicle before it crashed into the rear of the lorry, which was parked by the roadside,' he was quoted by Berita Harian as saying. The driver and five other family members were taken to Kuala Lipis Hospital for treatment. Ismail said the 33-year-old lorry driver and his assistant were on their way from Melaka to Ketereh to deliver furniture. They had stopped by the roadside to relieve themselves. Neither was injured.
