Check your Fire TV Stick now or you'll miss out on a blockbuster free upgrade
Fire TV users are being offered a massive free upgrade but you'll need to install this app to get it. Fancy something new to watch but don't want to pay premium prices for Netflix, Prime Video or Disney+? You might want to install the Tubi app on your Fire TV Stick as soon as possible. This service first launched in the UK last year with it offering the option to stream for free. Now the team behind the platform have just announced a massive boost to the content that's available. It's been confirmed that there is now over 40,000 movies and shows that can be viewed for free - that's double what was in the Tubi library when it arrived in 2024. From this month you'll be able to tune into content from premium studios such as AMC Networks, Lionsgate and Sony Pictures Entertainment. With those firm's now supplying access to their back catalogue you'll see things such as Ghostbusters (2016), District 9, Elysium, I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997), the Resident Evil franchise, The Mist, The Devil You Know, Remember Me, and Redemption (2013) in the Tubi app with more content coming soon. 'Since launching nearly a year ago in the UK, Tubi has doubled its library size, cementing its position as offering the biggest collection of free movies and TV series in the UK,' said Ross Appleton, General Manager, UK, at Tubi. 'With rising costs and fragmentation in streaming, Tubi will continue to offer viewers extensive content choice and a highly personalised viewing experience. All for free.' Along with Fire TV Sticks, the app can be also found on devices such as Apple TV along with most smart TVs and smartphones. You can also just log in via the web. A full search function is also included to help narrow down the things on show and only offer up the shows and movies that suit your tastes. Tubi doesn't offer the very latest blockbusters but there's plenty of things to watch and all for free.

Platforms like this have become increasingly popular as the cost of living has gone up and households have cut down on the number of services they pay for. All you need to do to access the seemingly endless free content is sign up to an account online. You can then download the app across a range of compatible devices - including Fire Sticks and mobile phones - to make the most of their content, wherever you are.
