India trying to develop full E&P deepwater technology ecosystem: Hardeep Puri
New Delhi [India], July 7 (ANI): India is trying to develop a full exploration and production (E&P) deepwater technology ecosystem, as the country plans to explore over 2.5 lakh sq km in the Open Acreage Licensing Policy Round 10, Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep said on Monday. In a series of posts on X, the Union Minister dubbed Round 10 as one of the largest offshore exploration bidding rounds globally. The Open Acreage Licensing Programme (OALP) provides potential investors with the freedom to select blocks of their choice by submitting an Expression of Interest (EOI). In a roundtable with representatives of the Offshore Energy Cluster in Bergen, Norway, the Union minister held discussions on technologies including well services, subsea operations, testing, maintenance operations, drilling tools, drilling submersible rigs, well completion services, high pressure high-temperature wells, drillships, monitoring technologies covering the entire gamut of hydrocarbons exploration, particularly deep sea exploration by the Norwegian energy professionals. Representatives from TechnipFMC, Reach Subsea, DNV Group, Odfjell Drilling, CCB Subsea, Shearwater, Innovasjon Norge, Norwegian Energy Partners, and Equinor India. Further, to provide momentum to India's efforts to achieve energy security, the minister visited the Northern Lights CO2 Terminal in Bergen, Norway. It is the largest carbon storage project funded by the Norwegian Government and partnered by Equinor, Shell, and TotalEnergies. 'This unique project can store up to 100 million tonnes of carbon dioxide. It has an open and flexible infrastructure to transport CO2 from capture sites by ship to a receiving terminal in western Norway for intermediate storage, before being transported by pipeline for safe and permanent storage in a reservoir 110 kms away from shore and 2,600 metres under the seabed,' the minister wrote in a post on X. 'We are reviewing this, and similar projects, to upgrade and expand India's energy capabilities. Norway's expertise in deepwater exploration, seismic oil surveys, offshore wind and carbon capture and storage (CCS) technologies aligns well with India's ambitious energy transition agenda,' he wrote. The minister also visited the CCB Energy Blue Hydrogen Plant, a first-of-its-kind commercial blue hydrogen facility located in Kollsnes as part of CCB Energy Park in Oygarden, Norway. 'It was interesting to see world's first commercial plant which produces blue hydrogen with integrated carbon capture and subsea storage. This strategically positioned plant is a joint initiative between CCB Energy (a part of CCB Energy Holding and H2 Production) and ZEG Power, leveraging proprietary 'ZEG-H' reforming technology with built-in CO capture. The captured carbon is transported to the adjacent Northern Lights facility for storage. The pilot plant produces around 1 ton of hydrogen per day while capturing nearly all associated CO2,' he wrote. (ANI)

India to develop Deepwater Exploration and Production (E&P) ecosystem with Norway
NEW DELHI: Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri on Monday announced that India plans to develop a comprehensive ecosystem for deepwater Exploration and Production (E&P) technologies as it prepares to explore over 2.5 lakh sq km under the Open Acreage Licensing Policy (OALP) Round 10. The tenth round of OALP is set to be one of the largest offshore exploration bidding rounds globally. The announcement came following the Minister's visit to the Northern Lights CO₂ Terminal in Bergen, Norway. The facility, funded by the Norwegian government and operated in partnership with Equinor, Shell, and TotalEnergies, is the largest carbon storage project of its kind. Deepwater Exploration and Production (E&P) technologies is the advanced methods, tools, and systems used to locate, drill, extract, and process oil and natural gas from reservoirs located deep beneath the ocean floor—typically at depths greater than 500 meters (1,640 feet). The Northern Lights project can store up to 100 million tonnes of carbon dioxide. It features a flexible infrastructure that enables the transport of CO₂ from capture sites by ship to a terminal in western Norway, where it is temporarily stored before being piped 110 km offshore and injected 2,600 metres below the seabed for safe and permanent storage.

True story emerges behind Hawthorn great Jordan Lewis's absence from three-peat function
Hawthorn's premiership heroes from 2013-15 celebrated the 10-year anniversary of the club's famous threepeat on Friday night, but the absentee of some high-profile greats caught the attention of devoted fans. Among those who missed the event were master coach Alastair Clarkson and 2015 Norm Smith Medal winner Cyril Rioli, with the much-loved Rioli still in a sad cold war with his former club. Know the news with the 7NEWS app: Download today Former superstar and four-time premiership hero Jordan Lewis did not attend the event at Melbourne Town Hall, either, due to his commentary commitments ... and fans were quick to point the finger. Fans raged on social media about Lewis's absence, gobsmacked that he wasn't given the night off by broadcaster Fox Footy. But former captain and Channel 7 star Luke Hodge has now explained exactly what happened. 'It was a great celebration,' Hodge said on Channel 7's The Agenda Setters. 'It was the three-peat so for all three years. It wasn't just the 2015 flag. We missed 14, because obviously we had a fair bit going on last year, so it was good way to celebrate, and majority of the guys got along which was great to see and, I guess, reminisce and talk about what we were able to (achieve).' Hodge was pressed on the absence of Lewis, which he revealed was simply because of an innocent mix-up. 'He got his dates mixed up,' Hodge said on The Agenda Setters. 'We threw around a couple of different dates. So he put in for a date to take it off from work on a Friday night, but then the dates were changed.' Veteran AFL journalist Caroline Wilson also said it was disappointing' Clarkson wasn't there. 'We wanted everyone to get along,' Hodge said. 'But obviously people had prior engagements. Clarko had to coach the following day. Lewie had to work. There's a few other guys that had prior engagements as well. 'So no doubt, when we do it again, we're going to try and make it a little bit more of a player catch-up every year from now on. So hopefully they'll get along to do the next year or in the years after.' Hodge said earlier this year that Rioli was not 'comfortable' with the idea of returning to the football club 'just yet'. 'There's been a number of guys that have reached out to Cyril. And we left on really good terms,' he said previously. 'When he retired he sent me a message saying 'thanks for all the development and help'. I've had no issues with Cyril ever, but it's almost like he's parted ways with everyone there.' Hodge caught up with Rioli in Round 10 this year when Gold Coast played Hawthorn in Darwin. 'I haven't seen him since about 2018. I saw (Gold Coast CEO) Mark Evans talking to him so I just wanted to go across and say g'day. 'It was just good, he was looking great, he had a smile on his face, he said his cousin (Daniel) was flying out there and has made a real difference to the Gold Coast Suns. 'It was great to see him.'

Taylor Barnard turns 21 a day after podium finish in Shanghai, says 'I need to look at race to understand what actually happened'
Image credit: Taylor Barnard/Instagram Taylor Barnard celebrated his 21st birthday with his teammates on June 1 and took part in the Formula E Round 11 race in Shanghai on the same day. The NEOM McLaren driver had won a podium a day before in the Round 10 race and had enough reasons to celebrate. Barnard has revealed that he did manage to get the podium in the first part of the Shanghai E-Prix, but he is yet to figure out how he managed to reach the podium. Taylor Barnar talks about his win in Shanghai Taylor Barnard not only got the third spot on the podium in Shanghai but also registered the fastest lap. He was 'all smiles after Race 1' and shared proof of his happy pictures with the trophy on Instagram. Talking to Formula E about the race, Taylor Barnard said, 'Honestly, my main emotion is that I'm a bit confused! I was sitting at the back for a very long time; I was quite good on energy but I didn't understand how the race was playing out. The team did a great job with the strategy because I came out of the pit lane in sixth so I thought, 'now I can fight!', but I need to look at the race after to understand a little bit better what's actually happened. I was really struggling with energy on the last couple of laps so I did my best in the last few corners. I'm super happy to get another podium, another 15 points in the bag.' On Sunday, Barnard finished tenth in the second race of the Shanghai double-header but was glad he finished it safely as he raced on a wet track in the rain. He shared a bunch of pictures from Round 11 on Instagram and wrote, 'Very tricky conditions out there today… Happy to take a point and bring the car back in one piece. Thank you to all of the fans who braved the weather, your support doesn't go unnoticed! Also, a huge thank you for all of the birthday wishes received today.
