Vijayawada: Dr YSR Horticulture University chancellor and Andhra Pradesh governor S Abdul Nazeer said horticulture continues to play a pivotal role in ensuring nutritional security and enhancing farmers' income. Andhra Pradesh witnessed phenomenal growth in the horticultural sector during the past few decades, and horticulture has been identified as a sunrise sector with a production of 275.13 lakh metric tonnes from an area of 15.98 lakh hectares across the state. These must become the new paradigm to bridge the last-mile gap and empower farmers with timely, personalised, and actionable knowledge. "Even though the achievements of our farm scientists are indeed laudable, it remains a reality that the tangible benefits of many scientific advancements are reaching the farming community with a significant time lag – and even then, only to a limited extent," Abdul Nazeer noted. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Do you have a mouse?
