‘Canada not your playground': Pro-Khalistani terrorist Pannun threatens Kapil Sharma
CHANDIGARH: Pro-Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun has threatened comedian Kapil Sharma, saying, 'Canada is not your playground' and telling him to 'take back his blood money to Hindustan.' Pannun, who heads the banned Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) and has been designated an 'individual terrorist' by India's Ministry of Home Affairs, issued the threat after the firing at Sharma's 'Kap's Café' in Surrey, British Columbia. Earlier, Khalistani terrorist Harjit Singh Laddi of Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) had claimed responsibility for the attack. In a video message, Pannun said, 'Canada is not your playground. Take your blood money back to Hindustan. Canada will not allow violent Hindutva ideology to take root on Canadian soil under the guise of business.' He questioned whether Kap's Café was 'just a comedy venue or part of a larger strategy to export Hindutva,' and added, 'One business at a time?' Pannun went on to question why Sharma 'who chants Mera Bharat Mahan and openly endorses Modi's Hindutva" was investing in Canada instead of Modi's India.

'Take Your Blood Money Back...': Pannun Threatens Kapil Sharma After Canada Cafe Attack
Last Updated: Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun issued a threat to Kapil Sharma, accusing him of promoting Hindutva on the pretext of doing business in Canada. Comedian Kapil Sharma's cafe in Canada's British Columbia recently came under attack in what authorities believe was a targeted strike linked to the banned Khalistani terrorist outfit Babbar Khalsa International (BKI). Days after the attack, pro-Khalistani separatist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun issued a fresh threat to the comedian. The cafe – named Kap's Cafe – had just celebrated a soft opening, drawing attention for its elegant pink-and-white interior, floral accents and a menu of artisan coffee and desserts. However, shots were fired on the property late Sunday night , although no injuries were reported. In a video message, Pannun – the leader of Khalistani outfit Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) – accused Kapil Sharma of promoting Hindutva on the pretext of doing business in Canada, and the country will not allow such ideas to take shape on its soil. 'Canada is not your playground. Take your blood money back to Hindustan. Canada will not allow violent Hindutva ideology to take root on Canadian soil under the guise of business," he said in his message to Sharma. Pannun also asked if Kap's Cafe was 'just a comedy venue or part of a larger conspiracy to export Hindutva". Notably, the SFJ — banned in India — had released a threatening video warning Kapil Sharma to 'take Hindutva money back to India." Harjit Singh Laddi, a BKI operative designated as a terrorist by India, claimed responsibility for the attack on Kapil Sharma's cafe in a video message. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has announced a Rs 10 lakh reward for information leading to Laddi's arrest, underscoring the gravity of his suspected involvement in cross-border extremist activities. Despite the setback, Kap's Cafe has vowed to remain open and continue its mission of serving as a safe, joyful space for the community. 'We opened Kap's Caffe with hopes of bringing warmth, community, and joy through delicious coffee and friendly conversation. To have violence intersect with that dream is heartbreaking. We are processing this shock, but we are not giving up," it said in an Instagram post. This attack follows a growing trend where Khalistani-linked gangs abroad are targeting Indian-origin businesses and figures, especially those who are publicly pro-India or high-profile. These groups have been known to use violence, threats, and extortion as tools to assert ideological dominance and push separatist narratives. view comments First Published: July 12, 2025, 14:28 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Khalistani Terrorist Threatens Kapil Sharma Days After Canada Cafe Shooting
Pro-Khalistan separatist group Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) founder Gurpatwant Singh Pannun has threatened actor-comedian Kapil Sharma, saying "Canada is not your playground" and threatened him to "take back his blood money back to Hindustan". In a video message, Pannun, who was designated an "individual terrorist" by the Ministry of Home Affairs in 2019, also accused Mr Sharma of promoting Hindutva ideology on the pretext of doing business in Canada and said the country will not allow such ideas to take shape on its soil. The threat came days after Mr Sharma's newly-opened restaurant, Kap's Cafe, in Surrey, British Columbia, came under fire by unknown men on Wednesday night. Harjit Singh Laddi and Toofan Singh - both linked to proscribed terror outfit Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) - claimed responsibility for the attack. BKI is recognised as a terrorist outfit by the Canadian government. Laddi is on the National Investigation Agency's most-wanted list. "Canada is not your playground. Take your blood money back to Hindustan. Canada will not allow violent Hindutva ideology to take root on Canadian soil under the guise of business," Pannun said in the threat message directed at Mr Sharma. He sought to know if Kap's Cafe was "just a comedy venue or part of a larger strategy to export Hindutva". "One business at a time?" he asked. On Wednesday, shots were fired at comedian Mr Sharma's Kap's Cafe that opened on July 4. No one was injured in the incident. In an Instagram post on Friday, the cafe said they were "processing the shock" but stand firm against violence. Mr Sharma is yet to respond to the incident. SFJ is a banned organisation under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act for its anti-national activities which, according to the home ministry, are prejudicial to the internal security and integrity of the country. The SFJ continues to be involved in anti-national and subversive activities in Punjab and elsewhere and intended to disrupt the sovereignty and territorial integrity of India, the ministry said earlier. According to the Centre, SFJ maintains close ties with militant outfits and activists, actively encouraging and aiding secessionist activities, including attempts to destabilize the democratically elected government of India. The National Investigation Agency has registered and is probing several cases against Mr Pannun. The SFJ founder has a total of 104 cases against him, all of which are either being probed by NIA or the states where they have been registered.
