Nagar kurnool: An awareness session on the SHE Team and the POCSO Act was conducted on Saturday at the Nagarkurnool District Bus Stand under the supervision of Bharosa Center SI Veena Reddy. Speaking on the occasion, SI Veena Reddy said, 'In recent times, there has been an increase in harassment cases targeting women and children, especially those staying alone. Many girls are falling victim to deception through social media platforms like Instagram under the guise of friendship.' She urged students to focus on their education and not be afraid to come forward and report any harassment. 'We assure complete confidentiality for those who file complaints,' she added. She also advised people to be cautious and avoid responding to video calls and messages from unknown persons. SI Veena Reddy stated that the SHE Team is actively operating in key areas, bus stands, and mandal headquarters to ensure the safety of women and girl students. Anyone wishing to report harassment can contact 100 or 87126 57676. Bharosa Center Coordinator Srilatha explained the details of the POCSO Act to the students. SHE Team member Venkataiah, Head Constable Srinivasulu Sharma from the Human Trafficking Division, Gopal, and others were present at the event.

Gadwal: An awareness program was organized by the SHE Team at the Zilla Parishad High School in Manopad on Wednesday, under the guidance of Jogulamba Gadwal Superintendent of Police Sri T. Srinivasa Rao, IPS. The session was led by SHE Team In-charge Sub-Inspector Tejaswini along with team members. The main aim of the program was to educate girl students about SHE Teams, their role, and how they can help ensure the safety and protection of women and girls. The team elaborated on important topics including: What is a SHE Team? Good Touch vs. Bad Touch Eve-Teasing Ragging Harassment Online Trapping through Instagram and other chat platforms Students were sensitized on how to identify inappropriate behavior and respond to it confidently. They were encouraged to report any incident of harassment, whether at schools, colleges, bus stops, or other public places, without hesitation. For assistance, they were advised to immediately contact the SHE Team Helpline at 8712670312 or Dial 100. The police assured that the identity of complainants will be kept strictly confidential. The session also covered precautionary measures that women and girls should follow to ensure their safety in various situations. The program was well-attended by the Headmaster of the school, Mr. Shiva Prasad, SHE Team members Seshanna, Divyavani, and Hanmanthu, along with several teachers and students. The participants appreciated the interactive session and expressed confidence in approaching law enforcement if needed. The Jogulamba Gadwal Police Department continues to take active steps to build a safer environment for women and girls through education, empowerment, and responsive action.

Gadwal: As part of the Anti-Drug Awareness Week celebrations, the Jogulamba Gadwal District Police conducted an awareness program at the Boys' High School in the district headquarters. Acting on the directions of District Superintendent of Police (SP) Shri T. Srinivasa Rao, IPS, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Shri V. Mogilayya led the session and addressed students on the dangers of drug and substance abuse, especially focusing on the growing threat of marijuana (ganja) and other intoxicants. "A Drug-Free Society is Everyone's Responsibility" – DSP V. Mogilayya In his keynote address, DSP V. Mogilayya emphasized that creating a drug-free district requires active participation from all citizens. He warned students against falling into the trap of addiction, particularly stressing how some youth, in search of temporary happiness or thrill, are ruining their futures by indulging in marijuana and other drugs. > 'Addiction destroys life. Let us drive out the drug menace and build a drug-free society for the future generations,' said DSP Mogilayya. He also highlighted that a special surveillance system has been put in place to monitor individuals involved in the use or trafficking of drugs, noting that addiction often leads to mental instability and criminal behavior. DSP Mogilayya pointed out that marijuana and similar substances pose severe risks to health, including damage to nerves, the heart, and other major organs. Parents and Teachers Have a Key Role to Play DSP Mogilayya urged parents and teachers to closely monitor their children's activities, as early detection of risky behavior can help prevent lifelong consequences. He expressed concern that some youth, despite having bright futures, are being lured into bad habits that could ruin their lives. He stated that the police department is committed to curbing the drug menace by involving rural and urban communities alike, ensuring that youth stay away from narcotic substances and illegal currency exchanges linked to drug trade. The goal, he stressed, is to contribute to building a Drug-Free Telangana. Widespread Participation in Awareness Program The event saw enthusiastic participation from students, teachers, and police staff. Members of the SHE Team, including SI Swathi and other personnel, were actively involved in the program. They helped in sensitizing students about the legal, health, and social consequences of drug use. Two teens among eight held for sexual abuse of a minor girl in Telangana

ADILABAD: In a special joint operation, SHE Team sleuths, along with Gudithanoor and Echoda police, arrested eight persons, including two minors, for sexually harassing a minor girl. According to the investigation, one of the minors accused initiated contact with the victim on social media under the guise of friendship. It developed into a relationship soon. Later, the accused coerced her into explicit video calls and recorded these interactions without her consent. He shared these videos with the other accused, after which the group collectively subjected the victim to further mental and sexual harassment. The case came to light after the girl disclosed the matter to her parents. The six adult accused were identified as Sajjanwar Vamsi Krishna (20), Pawar Tarun (18), Sable Balwant Singh (18), Gundalwar Varun (18), Karad Sudhir (28) and Murkute Vittal (23). They were produced before a judge and remanded to custody, said Utnoor ASP Kajal Singh. Police seized seven mobile phones during the operation. The two juveniles — a 16-year-old and a 15-year-old — were produced separately before a juvenile court judge in Adilabad. The ASP added that a case under the POCSO Act was registered, based on a complaint lodged by the victim's father, against the accused at Gudithanoor police station. She reiterated the Adilabad SHE Team's readiness to assist women in distress (emergency contact number 8712659953) and urged parents to vigilantly monitor their children's online and social activities.

Physical Education Teacher booked under POCSO Act in Adilabad district

A Physical Education Teacher (PET) at the Zilla Parishad High School in Mavala village of Adilabad district was arrested by the police for allegedly misbehaving with girl students. The accused, identified as Gundi Mahesh, 54, was booked under Section 12 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, following a complaint of misbehaviour filed by the aggrieved girl students against him with the SHE Team of the district police on Monday, police said. A separate case was registered against him under Section 75 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) based on a complaint by a yoga teacher.
