SRN Hospital docs successfully perform complex spine surgery

Prayagraj: Doctors at Swarup Rani Nehru (SRN) Hospital have successfully performed a complex surgery on a 27-year-old man suffering from a wedge compression fracture in the D12 vertebra of the spinal cord. The surgery was led by Dr Sachin Yadav. To stabilise the patient's spine, the team used a minimally invasive surgery (MIS) technique called Pedicle Screw Fixation, which is considered a leading method in modern spinal surgery. Dr Yadav explained that MIS involves making much smaller incisions compared to traditional open surgery. This results in less damage to the muscles, reduced blood loss and a faster recovery for the patient. Using fluoroscopy, or real-time X-ray imaging, screws are precisely inserted into the vertebrae, followed by the placement of rods to stabilise the spine. This advanced technique is primarily used to treat spinal fractures, scoliosis (curvature of the spine), and degenerative spinal conditions. Expressing satisfaction, principal Motilal Nehru Medical College (MLNMC), Dr VK Pandey said: "This complex surgery performed by our team is a testament to the high-quality medical facilities available in govt hospitals. Swarup Rani Hospital continues to adopt advanced technologies to provide the best care for its patients."

Serenity Recovery Network Launches $4.5 Million Capital Campaign to Expand Recovery Services for Women and Families

CINCINNATI, July 23, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Serenity Recovery Network (SRN), a Cincinnati-based nonprofit committed to abstinence-based recovery housing, proudly announces the launch of its first-ever capital campaign: Recovery | Reunify | Transform. This bold initiative marks a transformative moment in SRN's 20-year history of helping individuals and families overcome substance use disorders. With a total campaign goal of $4.5 million, the first two phases — budgeted at $1.6 million — will fund the initial development of a comprehensive recovery campus. SRN's board of directors is pleased to share that over 45% of the Phase I and II goal has already been raised, thanks to generous support from board members, alumni, individual donors, and foundational grants. ' This campaign is about more than building structures — it's about building lives,' said Kurt Platte, President of Serenity Recovery Network. 'Recovery is possible, and this campaign ensures that no one who seeks help is turned away.' The new campus will address the urgent needs of women and their families by providing expanded housing and critical recovery services. Planned developments include: Renovation and expansion of apartment units to offer safe, sober living spaces. Transformation of the existing carriage house into a vibrant community hub featuring a childcare room, meeting spaces for AA/NA groups, and wraparound support services. Increased residential capacity and parking, enabling SRN to serve more individuals. Creation of outdoor gathering spaces and classrooms, designed to foster a welcoming, healing environment. Lead gifts have already been committed by Leslie and Dan Nowicki and Beth and Kurt Platte, with significant foundation support from The City of Cincinnati, Hamilton County via the One Ohio Recovery Foundation, and The Spaulding Foundation. According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), over 187,000 Greater Cincinnatians are directly affected by addiction. Since its inception, Serenity Recovery Network has served more than 1,540 individuals, offering structured housing, compassionate care, and a path to lasting recovery. 'This expansion will allow us to reach more people, provide more resources, and meet the rising need in our community,' said Allison Marchioni, Executive Director of SRN. 'We've seen firsthand how stability and support can transform lives.' SRN's efforts were recently featured on Fox19 News, highlighting the organization's mission and the impact of this new campaign on the region's recovery landscape. Mobile coverage blackspots shrinking in rural Wales

The improvements are part of the UK Government's Shared Rural Network (SRN) programme, which is jointly funded with mobile network operators to boost coverage in remote and underserved areas. Ben Roome, CEO of Mova, said: "30 new EAS masts are now live in the Welsh hills. "For the first time, signals from every mobile network are threading through valleys and reaching a further 2,500 kilometres of road—bringing connectivity to residents, businesses, and anyone passing through. "Thanks to the Shared Rural Network, not-spots are shrinking, connections are growing, and more coverage is on its way." A total of 30 masts have been activated in Wales, out of 56 across the UK, delivering faster and more reliable mobile coverage to rural towns and villages. Communities in Llangernyw, Pandy Tudur, Gwytherin, Cwmystwyth, and Llanymawddwy are among those now benefitting from improved connectivity. The upgrades also extend coverage across Bannau Brycheiniog and Eryri national parks, as well as areas of outstanding natural beauty like the Wye Valley and Bryniau Clwyd a Dyffryn Dyfrdwy. The improvements have been made by upgrading existing masts that previously only supported EE customers and emergency calls. Now, 4G coverage from all four major operators—EE, Virgin Media O2, Vodafone, and Three—is available in these areas. Jo Stevens, secretary of state for Wales, said: "Funded by UK Government investment, 30 new sites in Wales now have fast and reliable mobile internet access in areas which were previously poorly served. "Reliable connectivity improves every aspect of day-to-day life in rural Wales and makes a huge difference for local businesses, residents, and visitors. "This is an important step forward in our mission to kickstart the economy and unlock opportunity in rural areas across Wales."

X Partners with AppsFlyer for Third-Party Ad Performance Measurement

This story was originally published on Social Media Today. To receive daily news and insights, subscribe to our free daily Social Media Today newsletter. X has announced a new partnership with app analytics provider AppsFlyer, which will enable X advertisers to glean more insight into the performance of their X ads. The new Advanced Self-Reporting Network (SRN) integration will enable X advertisers to track conversions stemming from their X ads, with more accurate determinations of actual results, improving ROAS measurement. As explained by X: 'The Advanced SRN integration between AppsFlyer and X Ads uses two complementary methods of attribution. When users make their device IDs available on both the advertiser's app and on the X app, AppsFlyer uses deterministic attribution through device ID matching, which accounts for approximately 25% of iOS traffic. For the majority of users who don't share their device IDs, AppsFlyer applies privacy-compliant modeling to ensure those conversions are measured and fueled into the attribution logic.' So it'll give you more data on your ad performance, with more specific figures related to audience response, based on AppsFlyer's measurement methodology. Which, in some cases, uses estimation, but it's a more informed approach than relying on existing iOS tracking methods, giving you additional insight into your X campaigns. 'By combining these two methodologies within AppsFlyer's privacy-centric attribution engine, the Advanced SRN offers advertisers the best of both worlds and provides complete, accurate, and responsible measurement for all scenarios.' AppsFlyer also offers further qualification via its Single Source of Truth (SSOT) measurement, which provides extra validation of X traffic. 'Advanced SRN and SSOT give advertisers both control and clarity across the entire iOS measurement stack - an interconnected approach that improves visibility and drives real results. According to AppsFlyer data, advertisers using SSOT have seen effective cost per install (eCPI) drop by an average of 27%, thanks to better, more accurate optimization signals.' So, essentially, you now have access to third-party measurement for your X ads, which will give you more insight into campaign performance and actual results. Which could help you optimize your X ads, ensuring you're reaching the right people with your offerings. It's another consideration for your X ads strategy, feeding more insight into your approach.
