Get a first look inside L.A.'s new anime-themed café, opening this weekend
Fans, get ready: a One Piece cafe will be opening this Saturday, August 2, in the Little Tokyo district of Los Angeles. This is only the second U.S. cafe themed around the manga series by Eiichiro Oda, which became an anime TV series and, most recently, a live-action series on Netflix. Plus: 15 feature films, video games and trading cards. All versions of One Piece have a fervent fan base who adore the worldbuilding and get emotionally involved in following the characters on their quest to find one piece… of gold. The first One Piece cafe opened in Las Vegas in May 2024, and now Los Angeles gets its turn to share the love of a pirate and his crew trying to find treasure, while eating awesome themed food in an immersive setting. Already, the One Piece Cafe Los Angeles has been making alert fans happy through its soft opening over the last few weeks—and now the grand opening happens in just a few days with tons of giveaways of merch and limited-edition collectibles. The first 100 people in line will receive the following valuable goodies: the first 10 guests get a free One Piece Cafe tote bag with $100 worth of themed merchandise inside; the nxt 50 guests receive a free tote bag with $50 worth of merch; and the next 40 guests receive a free tote bag. That sounds to us like an incentive to bring a sleeping bag and stake your place in line if you're a rabid fan. The doors open at 11am at 241 S. San Pedro Street in Los Angeles, the former site of Dragon Bowl Sushi & Teriyaki, and close at 10pm. If you aren't one of the first 100, don't worry: the food is still amazing and worth attending for. It's all inspired by the ONE PIECE and 'approved by the Straw Hat crew,' according to the cafe's press release. You'll find Sanji's 'Diable Jambe' chicken katsu sando, Sanji's beef yakisoba, Hatchan's takoyaki, Robin's Flower-Flower Power Refresher (blueberry lavender lemonade with butterfly pea tea) plus assorted artisanal donuts: gum-gum devil fruit delight (ube icing with vanilla cake topper), Luffy's passion punch (passion fruit, blood orange, pomegranate) and Zoro's Gold Mark (chocolate ganache with matcha crumble). The cafe is completely cash-free, so bring a debit or credit card (leave behind your pieces of eight). The merchandise you can purchase here is only available here for heightened cachet, including character-themed T-shirts, tote bags and drinkware. There are goods, too, like keychains, plushies, pins, lanyards, and even a ONE PIECE puzzle set to get your brain seeing patterns. It's going to be epic!

One Piece finally reveals who's stronger between Zoro and Sanji – Oda ends the debate in Elbaf arc
credit - toei animation Well, One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda has finally settled one of the series' most contentious arguments once and for all: Who is stronger, Zoro or Sanji? With the addition of new scenes from the Elbaf arc and introduction of key characters such as Scopper Gaban, the answer is now obvious and it isn't who's better, but rather they're equal. Zoro vs. Sanji: The rivalry that defined the straw hat crew Whether or not you're already an One Piece fan, you've definitely at least heard of Zoro and Sanji—two of the series' most powerful and popular characters. Zoro is the colossally cool swordsman who wants to be the world's greatest, and Sanji is the high-kicking foodie with a heart of gold. Both of them take the place of Luffy's top fighters and have been friendly rivals since their crews' earliest days. For years, fans have speculated and argued over who would win in a fight. Zoro typically gets to fight the strongest enemy's #2 and Sanji the #3 at the end of an arc. That difference doesn't tell the full story and now, the most recent arc has made it official, they're equals. Elbaf arc reveals: Zoro and Sanji put their lives on the line for Luffy During the ongoing Elbaf arc, it was Sanji and Zoro who endangered their lives to save Luffy. In the midst of that deadly standoff, Luffy found himself ensnared by one such 'bomb bubble', an explosive eddy proboscis that would have badly hurt or flat out killed our hero. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch vàng CFDs với mức chênh lệch giá thấp nhất IC Markets Đăng ký Undo Without a moment's thought, Zoro jumped in the way, taking the damage himself to protect Luffy. This was the arc of Sanji's own sacrifice. X-Drake fought it though—unlike in an earlier battle, where he deliberately walked into a trap to save Luffy, fully aware that the trap would kill him. These moments weren't merely heroic—they were indicative of how far both men will go to protect their quarterback. As the final battle between the two started, fans witnessed how their loyalty and strength was reflected in each other's moves that proved Zoro and Sanji were more than just fighters. They are protectors, equals, and pillars of the Straw Hat crew. Oda Confirms it: Zoro and Sanji are equals, not rivals During the events of Chapter 1151, Oda first introduced us to Scopper Gaban, an important member of Pirate King Gol D. Roger's crew. Gaban is rumored to be on the same level as Rayleigh, who was Roger's right-hand man. Gaban goes so far as to lay claim to being the second strongest on the crew, implying he and Rayleigh were on the same level. This is significant because Gaban is mostly accepted by fans as a counterpart to Sanji, while Rayleigh has been compared to Zoro for years. What Oda is explicitly telling us here is that Zoro and Sanji are the modern day Gaban and Rayleigh—two strong fighters who are equal, both beside each other and above each other. Giant warrior parallels: Zoro and Sanji are like Dorry and Brogy The warrior giants Dorry and Brogy, who have been fighting for over 100 years without a winner, are one of the biggest returning throwbacks in the Elbaf arc. All the way back during the Little Garden arc, Zoro and Sanji were initially pitted against them, standing in for a rivalry that will never really come to a close with a definitive victor. We need to reference the Fisherman Island manga arc again, because Oda has now doubled down on that comparison between Zoro and Sanji being like Dorry and Brogy. Rivals in spirit, but equals in strength. Now that the Final Saga of One Piece is in full swing, each crew member's impact has become essential as the story escalates in stakes and intensity. Where they once operated largely as comic relief and functioned mostly in the periphery of the story, Zoro and Sanji have since become Luffy's right and left hands, ever on guard, literally in between him and danger at all times. In such a world, Imu, the Holy Knights and the World Government in general are stronger than ever. Now Oda is really driving it home — from a strength perspective and a story perspective, Zoro and Sanji are equally important to Luffy's journey. When does One Piece chapter 1151 release? One Piece Chapter 1151 officially releases on June 8, 2025. US and UK readers should be able to catch the chapter for free on Manga Plus on Saturday night or early Sunday, depending on your time zone. Oda's message is clear—Zoro and Sanji stand together Whether you've always cheered for Zoro's pure strength or Sanji's swift, kick-based elegance, the fact is officially set in stone. Oda doesn't want the fans pitting them against each other, treating them like rivals rather than comrades. Their recent displays during Elbaf, along with the strong similarities to legends such as Rayleigh and Gaban, confirm that Zoro and Sanji are indeed two irreplaceable warriors of the Straw Hat Pirates. So the next time somebody asks who's stronger, answer like this: 'They both are. Check out our list of the latest Hindi , English , Tamil , Telugu , Malayalam , and Kannada movies . LEGO And Netflix 'One Piece' Pirate Ship & More Set Sail In Aug
Lego will soon embark on its collaboration voyage with Netflix's live-action One Piece series, with five new sets featuring iconic locations from season 1 now available for pre-order with an August 2025 release date. Headlining the upcoming sets is The Going Merry Pirate Ship (set 75639), the iconic vessel used by the Straw Hat Pirates. This 1,376-piece set includes detailed interiors such as a kitchen, the cabin and an accessory workshop, alongside minifigures of Luffy, Nami, Zoro, Sanji and Usopp, and will also include four random wanted posters of the pirates. The set will retail for S$199.90. As the largest of the five upcoming sets, The Baratie Floating Restaurant (set 75640) depicts the location where Luffy and the gang first met Sanji in the show, and will be made up of a staggering 3,402 pieces. The set will feature numerous interior locations like a dining area, a kitchen, Zeff's quarters and a treasure room, as well as 10 minifigures of Luffy, Nami, Zoro, Sanji, Usopp, Zeff, Garp, Helmeppo, Koby, and Mihawk, alongside five random wanted posters, with a retail price of S$449.90. Recreating the intense boss encounter from Season 1, the Buggy the Clown's Circus Tent (set 75637) comes in at S$79.90, and will be made up of 573 pieces. The set features a tent that can be flipped open to reveal a larger play area with three circus contraptions, including a water tank, spinning vertical table and a hanging cage. Buggy, Luffy, Zoro and Nami minifigures are included alongside a smaller version of Buggy that can be split apart and hidden in the set's various boxes and barrels, with the set also including two random wanted posters. Retailing at S$45.90, the Windmill Village Hut (set 75636) marks the smallest set of the bunch at 299 pieces and features the humble origins of the beloved straw hat pirate. The roof of the hut can be removed to unveil the store's interior, featuring accessories like treasure chests and a place to hang the wanted posters collected from other sets in the line-up. The set includes minifigures of Luffy, Shanks, and Makino alongside one random wanted poster. Finally, the 926-piece Battle at Arlong Park (set 75638) recreates the showdown between the Straw Hat Pirates and the Arlong Pirates, featuring a pagoda model, a shooting gallery, a shack and a 'shark attack' throne room, alongside minifigures of Luffy (with bendable stretchy arms), Nami, Usopp, Arlong, and Chu. Additionally, the pagoda can be collapsed into pieces to recreate Luffy's final blow in the show, and the shooting gallery includes stud shooter play elements. The set will also include three random wanted posters and will retail at S$124.90. The Lego Netflix One Piece sets are available for pre-order online and will ship from 1 August 2025. One Piece Lego sets both are and aren't the first-ever Lego anime collaboration【Photos】
Five kits take their inspiration from One Piece, but not from the anime or manga. Lego has done collaborations with plenty of popular franchises, and the building block toys are popular in Japan. Oddly enough, though, there's never been an official anime Lego set, and that hasn't technically changed even though Lego has just revealed a collaboration with One Piece. But wait, hasn't One Piece been one of the most phenomenally popular anime/manga franchises for the past three decades? Yes it has, but these sets are specifically meant to be Lego recreations of the live-action Netflix One Piece, basing their designs off the appearances of the characters and sets seen in the streaming series. Of course, with the Netflix One Piece taking its visual cues from the anime/manga, these sets are sure to appeal to fans of the source material too. The lineup has five sets, including, of course, the Going Merry Pirate Ship, a 1,376-piece kit for builders aged 10 and up. ▼ The interior is full of details too, like Sanji's kitchen. The biggest and most elaborate kit, though, is the Baratie Floating Restaurant. With 3,402 pieces that come together to form an eatery 54 centimeters (21.5 inches) wide and 35 centimeters tall, this is a kit you'll want to set aside plenty of both time and space for. In addition, it's part of Lego's Sets for Adults category, implying an extra degree of complexity that might frustrate little kids, but should delight grown-up kids-at-heart. The most action-packed kit is the Battle at Arlong Park (926 pieces, ages 9 and up) That's because in addition to being bundled with a figure of Luffy throwing a Gum-Gum Pistol punch… …the tower is designed with a feature that lets it burst apart as Luffy smashes through it! Rounding out the line are two modestly sized sets, the 573-piece Buggy the Clown's Circus Tent and 299-piece Windmill Village, both recommended for builders 8 and up. Preorders are open now through the Lego online stores for the U.S. and Japan here and here, respectively, with the Going Merry listed at US$139.99/20,480 yen, the Baratie US$329.99/42,980 yen, the Battle at Arlong Park US$79.99/12,480 yen, Buggy's Circus Tent US$54.99/7,680 yen, and Windmill Village US$29.99/4,680 yen. Shipping and the in-store sales start are scheduled for August 1. Unfortunately, since the kits are based on the first season of the Netflix One Piece, none of the kits contain a Chopper figure, but if you want to know how he'll look in the live-action show, we've got a sneak peek right here.
