Dill Mill Gayye fame Pankit Thakker addresses ongoing Hindi-Marathi language row; says, "It's time for us to take a step back"

Over the past few days, Maharashtra has seen growing debate around the use of Hindi-Marathi language. Actor Pankit Thakker, who currently plays Chandru in the TV show Saru, was asked for his thoughts on the issue. Choosing to stay away from the controversy, Pankit politely declined to comment, saying he didn't want to add fuel to the fire. Instead, he emphasized the importance of setting aside differences and coming together for the growth and progress of Maharashtra. He shared, 'We live in a beautiful country where our diverse cultures and languages are a strength, not a weakness. It's important that we celebrate unity and brotherhood. I have no desire to add to any controversy, but I will say that the recent tensions over the Hindi-Marathi language issue in Maharashtra have led to heated debates and, sadly, even violence. As someone who calls this great state home, I'm genuinely concerned about the growing divide that's putting our social harmony at risk. This is the time to pause, reflect on our shared values, and come together to find a path that uplifts and includes everyone.' by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Is it legal? Let's focus on promoting mutual respect, understanding, and inclusivity. By putting aside our differences and working together, we can build a brighter future for ourselves and future generations." Pankit was previously seen in the TV show, Barsatein – Mausam Pyaar Ka. He started his acting career on the TV show, Kabhii Sautan Kabhii Sahelii. Later he also featured in Kumkum – Ek Pyara Sa Bandhan, among others. Pankit Thakker remembers Mahatma on Gandhi Jayanti

Shagun Pandey, Mohak Matkar Play Kho Kho With Saru's Cast And Crew

The set of Saru turned into a playground, and laughter echoed across as everyone played, ran, and cheered, reminding them of school days. The latest fiction TV drama, Saru, continues to captivate audiences with its slice-of-life storytelling, rural charm, and emotionally rich characters. And in the upcoming episodes, the show will take viewers down a nostalgic trip with a high-energy Kho Kho sequence. In a refreshing twist to the otherwise intense drama, lead characters Ved (Shagun Pandey) and Saru (Mohak Matkar) will take part in the lively game that promises to charm audiences on screen. But what started as a scripted scene quickly evolved into an impromptu match, with Shagun, Mohak, and other members of the cast and crew diving into the game with genuine enthusiasm during their break. The set turned into a playground, and laughter echoed across as everyone played, ran, and cheered, reminding them of school days. This sequence not only added energy to the narrative, but it also brought smiles to everyone's face behind the scenes. Reflecting on the experience, Shagun Pandey shared, 'It honestly felt like we were transported back to our school days. Kho Kho was such a big part of my childhood, and playing it again with Mohak and the whole team was pure joy. We were running around like kids, forgetting everything else." 'I remember playing barefoot on dusty fields, getting scolded for coming home late, and collecting small bruises that we used to wear like trophies. Recreating that energy on set, especially with everyone joining in, was truly special. We work long hours and often forget to pause and have fun, so moments like these are a real breather. It brought the whole team closer, and I think that joy will come through on screen too," she recalled. While the mood off-screen is light-hearted, Saru is gearing up for intense emotional drama on-screen. With tensions rising in the Bajaj household, the question that echoes through the minds of many is, will Saru finally uncover her true identity as the true granddaughter of the family, or will Anika (Anushka Merchande) succeed in her manipulative plans to sideline her out of the house? Set in a rustic village setting, Saru explores themes of tradition, family ties, and personal growth. As the drama intensifies and new revelations come to light, don't miss watching the gripping twists and touching moments in Saru at 7:30 PM on Zee TV every day. Second Springboks Test on SABC as Mzansi cries out for more Bok rugby

The second Springboks vs Italy Test will be broadcast on SABC, allowing more South Africans to witness international rugby live, which is not the norm. Picture: BackpagePix Occasionally though, SuperSport SA Rugby ( Saru ) and the SABC broker deals to have Springbok matches televised on the national broadcaster. That excludes the majority of the SA public from watching the Springboks play live. It's no secret that Springbok rugby in South Africa can typically only be viewed on paid-TV broadcaster SuperSport. The news on Thursday that the second Test between the Springboks and Italy on July 12 will be televised live on the national broadcaster is excellent for the SA public. The Unifying Power of the 1995 Rugby World Cup Saru president Mark Alexander cited the example of the 1995 Rugby World Cup as a great way to unify the country, as the 30th anniversary of the victory in the final was celebrated late last month. 'The 1995 triumph was a moment that captured the attention of the world – revealing unmatched power of sport to bring people together, to heal deep wounds and to inspire a country that was still finding its feet as a young democracy,' said Alexander. 'As Saru, we are working closely with our broadcasters to ensure that all South Africans can be part of this historic occasion.' SA Minister of Sports Gayton McKenzie has said it was his aim to get more Springbok games shown on SABC, but that seems to still be a work in progress. Nomsa Chabeli, the SABC's Group CEO, said: 'The public broadcaster extends its appreciation to SARU and SuperSport for the spirit in which negotiations took place, to enable us to broadcast this historic match. 'It is important that the SABC is not left out of key national sporting events, which bring the nation together, and rugby has been very instrumental in doing that. 'This agreement also highlights the reach that the public broadcaster has in universal access to the nation through its TV and radio platforms, as millions of South Africans will have an opportunity to witness this historic moment. 'We call upon all South Africans to tune in, as we celebrate the 30th anniversary of our Rugby World Cup win in 1995.' @Michael_Sherman IOL Sport

Saru actress Anushka Merchande shares her heartfelt family tradition with her sisters on Yoga Day

On the occasion of International Yoga Day , actress Anushka Merchande, best known for her role as Anika in the television show Saru, reflected on a deeply personal and cherished tradition—Sunday morning yoga sessions with her sisters. Speaking about the ritual, Anushka shared, 'Every Sunday at sunrise, my sisters and I roll out our yoga mats — a ritual that started years ago and has become a tradition we deeply cherish. Between stretches, laughter, and quiet reflection, we reconnect — not just with ourselves, but with each other.' She fondly recalled how their yoga journey began at home, guided by online videos: 'I still remember our first session — following a YouTube video on our living room TV, confusing our lefts and rights, falling over more than we balanced.' Over time, the sisters transitioned from their living room to a nearby park, embracing nature as part of their practice. 'Barefoot on the grass under open skies, surrounded by trees and the sounds of nature, made the experience feel more peaceful,' Anushka said. 'It was also about feeling connected to ourselves, to each other, and the world around us.' On this Yoga Day, Anushka revealed their special plan: 'We'll begin with 12 rounds of Surya Namaskar, followed by a short gratitude meditation, and writing down one intention each — something we want to carry forward with love and mindfulness.' by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Febre entre os homens de 40 anos, estimula a vontade e energia Baixa na libido Saiba Mais Undo Anushka's portrayal of Anika in Saru has already struck a chord with audiences, and her words reflect the same sincerity and warmth she brings to her screen roles.
