Now, Screen Wexford have launched the New Voices Short Film Fund to support the next generation of Wexford filmmakers The fund was created in partnership with Wexford Arts Department, Wexford County Council, Bodecii Film Ireland, and Film Equipment Ireland. Saving Private Ryan megastar Matt popped into a Dalry restaurant in Edinburgh while on a break from filming. The 54-year-old was snapped with staff at Locanda De Gusti in the capital as he popped in for lunch on Saturday, July 12. Writing on Facebook, the restaurant wrote: "Casual Saturday in the office… just us, the team, and Matt Damon popping in for lunch with his family. No big deal. "Spoiler alert: they were absolutely lovely, charming, and yes - somehow even more down to earth than you'd expect from someone who's been to Mars and saved Private Ryan. "Safe to say the team's productivity went out the window for a minute, but hey - wouldn't you be distracted if Jason Bourne was asking for an Aperol Spritz! "Good food, good vibes, and just your average day serving Hollywood superstar." Excited fans flocked to the comments to react to the visit. One said: "Wow! No wonder he visited Locanda where the best chef in Scotland cooks." A second gushed: "This is fabulous, he has great taste, by far THE BEST RESTAURANT in Edinburgh." James Bond villain and huge film star shocks staff as he buys Thai street food in Leeds - would you have recognised him? A third added: "Absolutely amazing guys! So happy for you." A fourth weighed in: "Just the best for Locanda." Matt also took time to try out Scotland's only alpine coaster on the Pentland Hills in Midlothian. Midlothian Council wrote on Facebook: "When you've starred in Jason Bourne and Ocean's 11, high-speed thrills are just part of the job. "But even Oscar-winner Matt Damon couldn't resist the rush of our Alpine Coaster at Midlothian Snowsports Centre! "Matt and his family took on our top attraction today — and let's just say, they enjoyed action-movie-worthy fun from start to finish!" We recently told how Matt was hugely impressed by the food and service at a Scottish restaurant - saying it was among the best in the world. Locals in a Scots town were also left stunned when he turned up at their local Motion Fitness gym. Regulars did a double take as the Hollywood superstar wandered in sporting a beard. Within seconds he was mobbed in the fishing port - with everyone wanted a snap taken with the acting legend. And many were shocked to discover he was holding a Buckie Thistle shirt as well.

This hard-to-find war movie classic is streaming on YouTube
The streaming era has made untold thousands of movies available at our fingertips. The problem? The vast majority of those movies were made in only the last two decades or so. If you're a burgeoning cinephile looking to continue your film education, finding films from earlier than the Clinton administration is more difficult than it should be. But it's not impossible: you just need to know where to look. A good place to start? YouTube. The site best known for cat videos, conspiracy theories and DIY home repair tutorials is a semi-secret repository for movies unavailable on other platforms. Many classics of the cult, arthouse and international variety are out there to stream, completely for free. Of course, the drawbacks are dodgy transfers and possible copyright violations. But if you want to watch one of the greatest anti-war films of all-time, well, it's there, it's in 1080p, and it's legal. Be forewarned, though: 1985's Come and See will leave you absolutely shell-shocked. Set in Nazi-occupied Belarus, the final film by Soviet director Elem Klimov follows a young soldier named Florya as he witnesses horrors beyond his comprehension. Time Out – which has not only named the movie one of the best war movies of all-time but one of the greatest overall – put it this way: 'As unsparing as cinema gets, the influence of Elem Klimov's sui generis war movie transcends the genre in a way that not even Steven Spielberg's Saving Private Ryan can match. At its heart it's a coming-of-age story that follows a young Belarusian boy (Aleksei Kravchenko) through unspeakable horror as Nazi death squads visit an apocalypse on his region. Alongside its historical truths, the film's grammar and visual language – there are passages that play like an ultra-violent acid trip – are what truly elevates it. Like an Hieronymus Bosch masterpiece, the images here can never be unseen.' Currently, Come and See is not free to stream anywhere else in the US. It's on YouTube thanks to Mosfilm, the century-old Russian studio that has produced many of the country's most renowned films. Beginning in 2011, the studio began uploading a trove of Russian films to its YouTube channel, in high-def and with English subtitles. In addition to Come and See, the page channel has nearly full filmographies from legendary directors like Sergei Eisenstein and Andrei Tarkovsky – so you'll have a lot more to dig into, once you're done being traumatised.
