Penang cops to further investigate doctor nabbed for molesting four female patients
GEORGE TOWN: Police have been instructed by the Deputy Public Prosecutor's (DPP) office to carry out further investigations on the doctor who was caught for allegedly molesting his female patients four times. Penang deputy police chief Datuk Mohd Alwi Zainal Abidin said three of the cases were reported in the northeast district while the fourth and the most recent one was in the southwest district. "We submitted the investigation papers for the three original cases reported in the northeast district to the DPP's office. "We recently received instructions from the DPP's office to further investigate the cases," he told reporters at the state police contingent headquarters in George Town, Penang on Thursday (July 24). He said in regard to the fourth case in the southwest district, we have started the investigation. He said it is believed the 43-year-old doctor who was said to be working in a government hospital in the northeast district was transferred to a government clinic in the southwest district. "The recent incident occurred at a private clinic in the southwest district where he was doing locum," he said. It was reported that on Monday (July 21) at 8pm, the doctor was arrested in connection with the alleged sexual harassment of a female patient at a private clinic in Bayan Baru. Balik Pulau OCPD Asst Comm Sazalee Adam said the suspect was arrested after a woman in her 30s lodged a report on July 18, claiming she was molested by the doctor during a medical consultation on June 29. ACP Sazalee said at 11.46am, the victim sought treatment at the clinic for abdominal pain. During the examination, the doctor allegedly instructed her to remove her top and proceeded to touch both her breasts, he said. The case is currently being investigated under Section 354 of the Penal Code for using criminal force with intent to outrage modesty. It was reported earlier this year that the suspect had been arrested on three separate occasions for similar incidents involving three female victims. The suspect allegedly instructed patients to undress and perform on-the-spot exercises under the guise of further examination. He is also alleged to have recorded images of the victims' bodies using his mobile phone during the sessions.

Man, son arrested over sexual assault of 13-year-old
BALIK PULAU: Police have detained a father and son for sexual offences against their own family member over the past two years. The sexual abuse began when the girl was 13 and continued until she turned 15. The most recent incident took place on July 8 at their apartment in Bayan Lepas. Southwest district police chief Assistant Commissioner Sazalee Adam said at about 11pm on that day, the victim was summoned by her father into the bedroom to pass her some pocket money for school. The man had allegedly sexually molested the victim, an incident which happened often since she was 13. He said the victim was also raped several times by her brother since she was 13, for a year. "The victim related the incident to her mother about 1pm last Friday after the woman wanted her son to look after the girl, who often skipped school. "The victim then came to the police station to report the incident," he said tonight. Following the report, Sazalee said police arrested the 52-year-old father and his 22-year-old son. The father had no prior record, while the son did. Investigations revealed the abuse occurred when the victim was alone at home. "The last rape incident happened mid-2024 by her brother. "The victim was referred to the Penang Hospital for examination," he added. Sazalee said both suspects have been remanded since last Saturday. The case is being investigated under Section 376 of the Penal Code for rape and Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017.
