Elevating the game: Carling Black Label connects local fans to the world's biggest stage
In South Africa, football goes beyond sport –it has become a source of unity, identity and pride. An inheritance passed down through generations, played in backyards, watched on township screens and argued about on taxi rides and in local bars. Its energy is in the chants on the stands, the pride in the jersey and the belief that the fan is as much a part of the match as the players on the pitch. From the Soweto Derby to midweek Premier Soccer League (PSL) clashes under flickering floodlights, local football is stitched into the national fabric. It's messy, passionate and unfiltered, and it is where talent is spotted barefoot, where coaches become uncles, and fans become part of the experience. Now, as South Africa's domestic champions step onto the global stage at the FIFA Club World Cup, another story is being written, one that centres on the teams and the people behind them – the fans. The ones who've stayed loyal through seasons of near misses and moments of glory. As part of South African Breweries' 130-year legacy, the brand has pioneered a uniquely fan-first approach that continues to redefine what sponsorship means. This journey is now taking a global turn as Carling Black Label partners with the Mamelodi Sundowns in the FIFA Club World Cup under the powerful banner: Champions to the World. Carling Black Label has had an enduring relationship with the game and an ongoing, deepening commitment to empowering local voices. It has long recognised that its true strength lies in the people who stand behind the sport, the passionate, knowledgeable and deeply invested fans. More than 91% of the brand's core audience follow local football and now Carling Black Label has responded by giving them real influence. Through groundbreaking initiatives like the Carling Cup, fans have been empowered to pick teams, call the shots and experience the game from the technical bench. What started as an opportunity to coach Soweto's giants has evolved into the reimagined Carling Cup and the birth of the Carling All Stars, an entire team selected by fans alone. This evolution speaks to SAB's commitment to remain freshly consistent when it comes to innovation: never standing still, always listening, and always building on what fans value the most. In the lead-up to the FIFA Club World Cup, a tournament which brings together 32 of the best teams from around the world, Carling Black Label has introduced the Score Predictor. It's a digital platform which allows fans to forecast match results, recognising and rewarding the discerning knowledge of the Champion Fans. One of the biggest of these is an all-expenses-paid trip to watch the team that will be crowned the winners of the Fifa Club World Cup at their home stadium. The Score Predictor is a smart move for the brand. It celebrates the importance of fans in sport. And it validates their passion and expertise by giving them the opportunity to make predictions across 64 games. It's a clever digital tool that acknowledges the extraordinary amount of local knowledge and community commitment in South Africa and puts it on the global stage. The campaign isn't only about global access, however, it is also focused on local impact as Carling Black Label becomes a vehicle for a deeper social purpose. The brand understands its role and responsibility in shaping positive narratives, leaning into its market and celebrating positive masculinity which is anchored in respect, responsibility and leadership. Over the years, this focus has translated into programmes that have had significant influence and impact. In collaboration with the PSL, Carling Black Label commits to use Soccer as an influence for good through offering tools and mentorship for Players and soccer fans. efforts are grounded in the belief that there is gold in every bottle and in every man who chooses to lead with purpose. And through the SAB Sharp programme, this message is backed by a commitment to responsible drinking and ethical conduct. Through fan-first innovation and a purposeful brand vision, Carling Black Label has entertained and empowered, bringing Champion Fans closer to the game, providing platforms for their voices, and challenging the world to see South African football and masculinity through a different lens. The Champions of the World campaign is a culmination of over a decade of building trust, igniting pride and delivering value beyond the pitch. By blending consistent fan access with innovative experiences, the brand remains committed to pushing boundaries and creating platforms which reflect the power of sport as a force for good. DM

Play Score Predictor alongside the Women's Euros this summer and you could win a new iPhone 16!
You can play Score Predictor alongside the Women's Euros with Dream Team this summer! Our first offering of the new Game Year is completely free to play right now via the Dream Team app (or website) with a brand new iPhone 16 (128GB) up for grabs through a prize draw. 3 How to Play You will be asked to submit score predictions for every fixture of the 16-team tournament, broken up into six separate Matchdays. Matchday 1: First round of group games Matchday 2: Second round of group games Matchday 3: Third round of group games Matchday 4: Quarter-finals Matchday 5: Semi-finals Matchday 6: Final Make sure to enter your predictions for all eight Matchday 1 fixtures before the tournament gets underway with Iceland v Finland at 5pm on Wednesday July 2nd. You can edit your predictions for each fixture right up to kick-off, allowing you to react to any unexpected team news, but it's imperative you submit your initial predictions for each Matchday before the deadline. Point Scoring Correct Outcome +1 Correct Score +2 Outcome refers to the result rather than the exact score. For example, if you predict a 2-0 win for Spain over Portugal in Matchday 1 but the World Cup holders swagger to a 5-0 victory against their neighbours, you will earn one point for a correct outcome (Spain win). If you predict a correct score then you will earn an additional two points on top of the one point for a correct outcome, for a total of three points. 3 Prize Draw Every correct score prediction earns you an entry into the prize draw for an iPhone 16! The prize draw will take place at the end of the tournament with a winner selected at random from the eligible entries. Obviously, the more entries you earn the better your chances of winning the prize draw - correct scores are absolute gold dust! Leaderboard & Mini Leagues Needless to say, there's bragging rights up for grabs too with an overall leaderboard keeping track of total points. Additionally, you will compete in Club and National Leagues based on your Dream Team profile. Furthermore, we encourage you to compete in Mini Leagues against your mates (or colleagues, family members, etc). 3 State of Play Spain are deserved favourites ahead of Matchday 1 with current holders England very much in the mix as well. However, Sarina Wiegman's side are in a tricky group alongside France and Netherlands, as well as underdogs Wales. The Lionesses meeting with France is the standout fixture of Matchday 1 and it will be interesting to see how Score Predictor users tackle that clash between two trophy hopefuls. Elsewhere, Group A is an intriguing one as it doesn't feature any of the favourites with hosts Switzerland set to take on Norway, Iceland and Finland. Naturally, Germany are a major threat while Sweden will be hopeful of reaching the knockout stage as potential dark horses - their meeting in Group C should be a humdinger! Remember to enter your predictions for Matchday 1 before 5pm on Wednesday July 2nd.

PLAY SCORE PREDICTOR NOW! Allow us to present some key stats and facts to help inform your decisions... Fulham v Manchester City Pep Guardiola's side fell short in the FA Cup but they are technically the Premier League's most in-form team heading into the last weekend having won five of their last six games in the top flight. The recent history of this match-up is incredibly one-sided with Man City having won the last 17 meetings in a run that stretches back to 2012! There's also a disparity in terms of motivation with Fulham very much on the beach in 10th while City still need to confirm qualification for the Champions League. The Cottagers are a well-organised outfit capable of playing the role of party poopers but we're inclined to back an away win. 5 Manchester United v Aston Villa If the Europa League final is anything to go by, the Red Devils won't be up to much this weekend. Defeat to Tottenham in Bilbao has condemned Ruben Amorim's side to the club's worst season in generations and there's a real danger the mood will turn toxic at Old Trafford if Unai Emery's troops run riot on Sunday. The Villains are finishing the season in fine form - only City are above them in the form table - with a place in the Champions League up for grabs on the final day. That being said, Man United have been a bogey team for Villa for decades now. In fact, they've only won twice at Old Trafford in the Premier League era. More recently, Man United have won four of the last five meetings in all competitions. Even so, we think Villa will break the hoodoo this time around. Our Prediction: 3-0 to Aston Villa 5 Newcastle v Everton Jordan Pickford saved an Anthony Gordon penalty as these teams played out a scrappy 0-0 in the reverse fixture back in October. Here's hoping the last-day-before-school-holidays vibe of the final weekend encourages a more entertaining contest at St James' Park. The hosts will probably need a result to keep them in the top five but they may be without top-scorer Alexander Isak, who remains a doubt following his absence against Arsenal last weekend. Only Liverpool and Man City have scored more goals than Newcastle in home league games this season and the Magpies could jump to the top of that list with a convincing victory over the Toffees. Home advantage should be enough to propel Newcastle over the line in this one. Our Prediction: 2-0 to Newcastle 5 Nottingham Forest v Chelsea The pick of the fixtures as two of the Champions League hopefuls battle it out. The Blues may have one eye on the Conference League final but they can't afford to rest key players against Forest given the stakes. Only Liverpool have registered more shots and generated more xG than Chelsea in the top flight this season but Enzo Maresca's side did a lot of their best work in the first third of the campaign, when Cole Palmer was at his best. Nuno Espirito Santo's men have faded at the back end of the season but a crucial win over West Ham last weekend will ensure a feverish atmosphere at the City Ground. No team has conceded fewer goals at home than Forest in 2024/25 and it's notable that Chelsea rank just 11th for points earned on the road. Call us romantic but we can see the home side getting the job done. Our Prediction: 2-1 to Forest 5 Southampton v Arsenal We finish with what should be a more straightforward match-up in the form of 20th vs 2nd. Saints fans will be glad to see the back of a miserable season in which their side have mustered just two wins and 12 points. Southampton actually went 1-0 up at the Emirates back in October but ultimately succumbed 3-1 as Kai Havertz, Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka got on the scoresheet. If the Gunners are in a vindictive mood then it could get messy for the hosts but the visitors might prefer to cruise towards their summer holidays instead.

Play Score Predictor ahead of this weekend's Premier League action – top tips for Matchweek 32
Nick Elliott Published: Invalid Date, THE Premier League season is almost at an end but there's still time to win money by playing Score Predictor. We're once again putting up £250 for the weekly prize in Matchweek 32 with the winners of the four-figure sums up for grabs in the overall season leaderboard still undecided. Simply submit your predictions for the five selected fixtures and earn points for the accuracy of your forecast as the action unfolds. If you earn the most points then you'll claim the weekly cash prize! Everton v Southampton The Toffees will be highly motivated to give Goodison Park a proper send-off before handing it over to the women's team. And the hosts could have hardly asked for a more favourable opponent than the team 20th in the table. That being said, Saints have tightened up in recent weeks and while their defensive improvement has come far too late to matter, a 0-0 draw against Manchester City last time out gave their fans something to cheer. Even so, it was only a fortnight ago they lost 2-0 to Leicester... 5 West Ham v Nottingham Forest Nuno Espirito Santo's side have outperformed expectations all season long but their quest for Champions League qualification has wavered of late. In fact, Forest are currently below the Hammers in the form table having mustered just five points from their last six games. More broadly, West Ham have won just five of their 18 home league games this campaign while only Liverpool and Arsenal have earned more points on the road than Forest. This one is all about mentality. The visitors will be highly motivated while the hosts could easily be on the beach but Forest have not responded well to pressure in the last month - a 2-2 draw to Leicester last weekend was perhaps their most painful result of the season. We're inclined to give the Midlands side the benefit of the doubt as they won the reverse fixture 3-0 back in November. Our Prediction: 2-1 to Forest 5 Arsenal v Newcastle Sunday's main event features second versus third in a battle of the Premier League's best-of-the-rest. The Magpies have beaten the Gunners three times this season, once in the league and twice in Carabao Cup. Mikel Arteta's side didn't manage a single goal across those three fixtures. Arsenal boast the best defensive record in the top flight this season but only Liverpool have scored more goals than Newcastle. The North Londoners have won just one of their last six league games but, in fairness, they were prioritising the Champions League prior to the elimination at the hands of PSG. The recent history of this fixture favours Newcastle but it's a tricky one to predict. Our Prediction: 1-1 draw 5 Brighton v Liverpool With Arne Slot partying in Ibiza and several of Liverpool's star players pictured on a luxury yacht in Dubai it's probably valid to question whether the title winners are entirely focused on Monday night's trip to the Amex. The Reds will continue their victory lap for the remainder of the season but the Trent Alexander-Arnold situation has threatened to sour the mood. Still, they are champions for a reason and it's worth noting that Liverpool have scored 15 more goals on the road than the Seagulls have managed at home. Brighton's last remaining motivation is the possibility of Conference League qualification but that will go up in smoke if rivals Crystal Palace win the FA Cup. After a miserable April, Fabian Hurzeler's side have got back on track with seven points from their last three games but it's a brave Score Predictor user who goes against Liverpool, even accounting for a couple of hangovers. Our Prediction: 3-1 to Liverpool 5 Manchester City v Bournemouth An interesting one to finish as the complexion of this match-up may be shaped by Saturday's showdown at Wembley. If Pep Guardiola's troops endure an energy-sapping contest in the FA Cup final - perhaps even extra time and penalties - then they are unlikely to be suitably prepared for the visit of a lively Bournemouth outfit on Tuesday night. The Cherries claimed a famous victory in the reverse fixture, ending a miserable run against Man City, but the eight-time Premier League champions took their revenge in the FA Cup quarter-finals. We advise waiting to see how Saturday's showpiece fixture plays out before submitting a prediction for this one; we'll sit on the fence for now...

Play Score Predictor ahead of this weekend's Premier League action – key stats and facts for each fixture!
Nick Elliott Published: Invalid Date, THE season may be nearing an end but there's still time to enhance your bank balance through Score Predictor. Matchweek 30 features the customary weekly prize of £250 and is once again free to play. Simply submit your predictions for the five selected Premier League fixtures and earn points for the accuracy of your forecast as the action unfolds. If you earn the most points then you'll claim the weekly prize! PLAY SCORE PREDICTOR NOW! Arsenal v Bournemouth One of the most important factors to consider here is that the Gunners are in the midst of a Champions League semi-final. The North Londoners will have to overturn a 1-0 deficit against PSG in the French capital next Wednesday and with little to play for in the league it would be understandable if Mikel Arteta viewed this weekend's game as a low priority. That being said, Arsenal have lost three league games all season and just once at home. Granted, one of those defeats came against the Cherries at the Vitality Stadium but Andoni Iraola's side have faded at the back end of the campaign. In fact, only West Ham and the three relegated sides have taken fewer points than Bournemouth from their last ten games. Only Everton have drawn more times than Arsenal in the top flight this term. Our Prediction: 1-1 draw 5 Brentford v Manchester United The Red Devils may also be distracted by their two-legged European semi-final this weekend. If their Europa League tie with Athletic Bilbao hangs in the balance after the first leg then Ruben Amorim may even choose to rest key players at the Gtech Stadium. Score Predictor users will get another chance to scout the Bees when they take on Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Thursday night but fans, rivals and neutrals alike should know what Thomas Frank's troops offer by now. Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa are one of the most effective partnerships in Europe having scored 34 league goals between them - both are among the top six scorers in the Premier League at present. Man United have won five of seven meetings with Brentford since the latter were promoted but will head into Sunday's match-up seven points and three places behind the West Londoners. We may tweak our prediction after Thursday night's fixtures but for now... Our Prediction: 2-1 to Brentford 5 Brighton v Newcastle The Magpies are finishing the season in fine style with only Wolves above them in the form table (last six games) ahead of this weekend's action. Eddie Howe's side have won seven of their last eight outings in all competitions and averaged three goals per game throughout April. In contrast, the Seagulls late win over West Ham last weekend was their first victory since early March. Like Bournemouth, Brighton's push for European qualification has stalled at a crucial time but they may yet snatch a place in the Conference League. Newcastle have won more league games on the road then Fabian Hurzeler's side have managed at home in 2024/25 but this has been something of a bogey fixture for the Toon in recent times. Brighton have won three of the last four meetings (plus a draw) including victories in both the league and FA Cup this season. Even so, we're inclined to follow the form guide on this occasion. Our Prediction: 3-1 to Newcastle 5 Chelsea v Liverpool There's a danger that Sunday's main event may fall a little flat. The Reds have already confirmed their league triumph and will likely bring a last-day-before-summer-holiday vibe to their remaining commitments. But sometimes a release of pressure allows players to express themselves with great effect. Chelsea can't afford to slack off as they find themselves firmly among the scrap to finish in the top five but if Enzo Maresca is to lift a trophy in his first year at Stamford Bridge then it will have to be the Conference League. If the Blues make mincemeat of Djurgarden in the first leg then it will be easier to focus on the task at hand when Liverpool come to town but if the Swedish underdogs put up a fight then the hosts may have one eye on the second leg. A tricky fixture, one easy to overthink. Our Prediction: 2-0 to Liverpool 5 Crystal Palace v Nottingham Forest The theme of this Matchweek seems to be teams distracted by other commitments as the Eagles will surely be prioritising their date with destiny in the FA Cup final. However, that's still a fortnight away and so Oliver Glasner's side should be suitably focused on Monday night and they could do with a league win having mustered just two points from their last four outings. As for Forest, they will be highly motivated to secure Champions League qualification - a win over Brentford this evening would help. The two-time European champions are unbeaten against Palace since their return to the top flight with Chris Wood providing the winner in the latest encounter back in October. This match-up has been a low-scoring affair in recent years with just six goals scored in the last five meetings.
