ECD Automotive Design's 'Project Wilder' — A Powerful 700+ HP Supercharged California Land Rover Station Wagon
KISSIMMEE, Fla., July 15, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- There are Land Rovers, and then there is Project Wilder, a hand-crafted California Land Rover Station Wagon by ECD Automotive Design with subtle styling cues from original series Land Rovers and later Land Rover Defenders, purpose-built to rule every road and outmatch every expectation. Conceived under California skies and brought to life in ECD's Rover Dome, Project Wilder is more than a custom vehicle, it's an untamed, 700+ horsepower thrill ride and ECD's most powerful off-road build to date. View video of Project Wilder View images of Project Wilder From the outside, Project Wilder strikes a presence that is simultaneously classic and ferocious. Cloaked in Eastnor Green eggshell paint with subtle Nara Bronze accents, it pays tribute to heritage. Its 20-inch Kahn Mondial Retro wheels, custom-painted to match, sit under widened arches with a posture that says: this vehicle doesn't follow paths, it cuts them. Beneath its iconic silhouette is a supercharged GM Blueprint V8, pushing 700+ horsepower through a 6-speed Magnum T56 manual transmission, because no journey worth taking should ever be on autopilot. The Borla Sport dual exhaust, complete with a push-button sound control, lets the driver choose between stealth and storm at will. 'It's equal parts fighter and private jet,' said ECD CEO and Co-Founder Scott Wallace. 'Project Wilder is designed for the client who's looking for more than a weekend cruiser, they want something visceral, personal, something that defines what it means to be remarkable.' The chassis, coated in Raptor Liner for all-condition resilience, rides on ECD's proprietary Air Ride Suspension, offering seamless transitions from mountain trails to Malibu pavement. When it's time to stop the beast, Brembo performance brakes with Eastnor Green calipers keep things firmly in control. Inside, Wilder is warm, refined, and unshakably custom. The cabin is wrapped in Buffalo Distressed Cuoio leather with horizontal stretched honeycomb stitching, complemented by Sapele walnut wood trim, a theme that flows from the shifter to the rear cargo area like an handcrafted heirloom interior. RECARO Orthopeds front and rear provide unmatched support, and every surface, from Alcantara-lined headliners to handmade billet controls, tells a story of obsessive craftsmanship. For lack of better words, Wilder's interior is jaw-droppingly stunning and exudes a premium level of luxury that isn't typically associated with a former field truck. Touchpoints like a NARDI Kallista wooden wheel, Focal premium audio, a panoramic roof with sunroof integration, and advanced ICE systems, including CarPlay, digital mirrors, blind spot assist, and dual subwoofers, elevate the cabin into something part luxury lounge, part adventure basecamp. Project Wilder is a machine that refuses to compromise. A rolling contradiction: raw power wrapped in refined detail. British soul with American thunder. Built for California highways, Pacific trails, and every borderless moment in between. Whether you call it a commission, a collector's piece, or simply a dream with keys, one thing is certain: Wilder lives up to its name. ECD Auto Design Unveils an E-Type Like No Other
The Bridgewater GTO Commission is a bespoke, open-top grand tourer blending Series I–III lineage, D-Type cues, and modern performance KISSIMMEE, Fla., June 17, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- ECD Automotive Design has unveiled its most ambitious creation yet: a Jaguar E-Type GTO, a bespoke, open-top grand tourer built from the ground up for a private client under what is now known as The Bridgewater Commission. View images and video of The Bridgewater Commission This one-of-one vehicle, dubbed the Jaguar E-Type GTO, represents a new vision for what the E-Type could have become — a handcrafted, performance-focused grand tourer inspired by Jaguar's motorsport history and the spirit of 1960s-era homologation specials. In ECD's naming convention, 'GTO' stands for Grand Touring Open — a performance-built, open-air configuration rooted in classic design and elevated for modern driving. This Jaguar GTO is the first of its kind: handcrafted, analog, and unapologetically bespoke. 'This is the Jaguar GTO that never was — but always should have been,' said Scott Wallace, ECD Co-Founder and CEO. 'The Bridgewater Commission challenged us to look beyond restoration and build something entirely original. We weren't just honoring Jaguar's history — we were evolving it.' A Vision Reinforced by Industry Praise ECD's bold reinterpretation of the Jaguar E-Type has already garnered national attention. In a recent Forbes feature titled 'Test Driving The ECD Automotive Design Series II Jaguar E-Type' (June 12, 2025), automotive journalist Peter Nelson praised the marque's craftsmanship and performance focus: 'In a word, it was heaven,' wrote Nelson. 'I've driven modern Aston Martins and Lamborghinis with 12 cylinders at their disposal, but this was different… This thing had drivability and thrill — two traits that are often at odds in old sports car fare — in spades.' Handbuilt in Coventry. Reimagined by ECD. Powered by Passion. The Jaguar E-Type GTO's body was formed in Coventry, England — Jaguar's spiritual home — by heritage metal craftsmen who shaped its long-nose bonnet, tapered tail, and functional louvers with inspiration drawn from the Series I E-Type and racing-spec D-Type. Its proportions evoke classic endurance racers, but every line is reinterpreted for modern presence. ECD completed the build in Florida, fitting the bodywork over a custom-configured Series II chassis and installing a Jaguar V12, rebuilt and tuned by Team CJ in Austin, Texas — one of the foremost Jaguar performance shops in North America. The engine is mated to ECD-developed fuel injection, a modern cooling system, and a bespoke center-exit twin-pipe exhaust that delivers more than 400 bhp. 'This car pushed the limits of what's possible when blending three generations of E-Type architecture,' said Elliot Humble, ECD's Chief Technical Officer. 'Series I body, Series II chassis, Series III power — every part was reconsidered, refined, and reengineered to work in harmony.' 'This wasn't just a technical challenge,' he added. 'It was a reward. Because once it all came together, and we rolled it out for the first time, we knew this was something the world had never seen — and might never see again.' A Touring Cockpit with Classic Soul Inside, the ECD Jaguar E-Type GTO exudes vintage character and bespoke detail. Custom GTS Classic Car Seats are wrapped in hand-stitched Spinneybeck Lucente Hercules leather and finished in a vertical fluted pattern. The brushed aluminum dash features Moal Bomber gauges and classic toggle switches, invoking the tactile drama of 1960s sports cars. Modern conveniences — including Bluetooth audio, heated seats, USB ports, automatic headlights, and power locks — are hidden seamlessly within the cabin. A custom removable hardtop was designed late in the project, allowing the driver to enjoy either full open-air grand touring or enclosed comfort. Vehicle Highlights Model: Jaguar E-Type GTO — The Bridgewater Commission Bodywork: Hand-formed aluminum panels built in Coventry; long-nose Series I–inspired silhouette; functional louvers; side gills; bullet mirrors; yellow fog lamps Paint: Metallic British Racing Green Powertrain: Rebuilt Jaguar V12 by Team CJ (Austin, TX); ECD-developed fuel injection and cooling; over 400 horsepower Chassis & Engineering: Series II chassis; Series III engine; custom cradle and axle system for seamless integration Suspension & Brakes: Fully adjustable ride height and damping; fast-ratio steering rack; 6-piston front / 4-piston rear calipers Wheels & Tires: 15-inch custom Turrino Wire Wheels; Pirelli blackwall tires Interior: GTS Classic Car Seats in Spinneybeck Lucente Hercules leather; brushed aluminum dash; Moal Bomber gauges; bespoke toggle switches Technology: Bluetooth-compatible vintage-look radio; heated seating; USB charging; automatic headlights; power locks Roof: Custom removable hardtop for open or enclosed driving About ECD Automotive Design ECD Automotive Design (NASDAQ: ECDA) is a creator of one-of-one reimagined classic vehicles that merge British heritage with modern performance. ECD Auto Design Unleashes ‘67 Ghost — The First in a New Line of Bespoke Custom Mustangs
This debut Fastback ignites a new era of one-of-one Mustangs — custom-built by ECD, powered by Roush-engineered Small Block Ford V8s, and handcrafted to deliver heritage performance with modern-day Fla., May 21, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- ECD Automotive Design (NASDAQ: ECDA), the world's leading builder of reimagined classic Land Rovers and Jaguars, proudly reveals Project '67 Ghost, a fully bespoke 1967 Mustang Fastback — and the first Mustang built entirely in-house by ECD. More than a one-off commission, this vehicle marks the launch of ECD's new Mustang program, offering made-to-order builds across 1965–1970 model years with authentic powertrains, heritage styling, and modern drivability. View images and of Project '67 Ghost Built on the same foundation that has made ECD the global leader in luxury custom restoration, the Mustang program brings the company's signature client-driven, one-of-one experience to a new chapter of American muscle. Each vehicle is handcrafted in Florida through a collaborative design journey — allowing clients to define every detail, from performance to aesthetics. While many restomod builders lean on EV conversions or modern crate engines, ECD has partnered exclusively with Roush Performance to deliver something more meaningful: upgraded Small Block Ford V8s that honor the soul of the original car while elevating reliability and responsiveness. 'This is the beginning of what we're calling a Mustang stampede,' said Scott Wallace, CEO of ECD Automotive Design. ''67 Ghost represents the next evolution of what ECD stands for — one-of-one personalization, authentic powertrains, and best-in-class craftsmanship. Our partnership with Roush lets us preserve the Mustang's identity while enhancing it in ways no one else is doing.' Under the hood, '67 Ghost features a 465-horsepower ROUSH 347 IR V8, purpose-built to balance raw character with everyday usability. The vehicle rides on a Roadster Shop RS Spec chassis, giving it the best of both worlds: responsive handling and confident power, with the comfort and refinement of a modern cruiser. Finished in High Gloss Mineral White with Santorini Black Metallic rally stripes, the exterior draws from classic Mustang lineage, elevated with ECD's precise detailing. Inside, heated Recaro seats in black leather with tan diamond-stitched inserts pair with a brushed aluminum dash, All American gauges, and a Grant Classic steering wheel to deliver both nostalgia and tactile drama. Modern technology is seamlessly integrated, including Apple CarPlay, JBL premium audio, and a remote start. 'We're not chasing trends — we're building timeless machines,' said Elliot Humble, CTO of ECD. 'While others are dropping in off-the-shelf modern drivetrains, we've partnered with Roush to deliver brand-new, performance-built V8s based on the legendary Ford small block architecture. Paired with the RS Spec chassis, the result is a Mustang that's thrilling to drive and remarkably refined — the kind of car you enjoy every day, not just on weekends.' With multiple commissions already in progress — including builds inspired by Shelby GT350s, Boss 427s, and Mach 1 silhouettes — ECD's Mustang program is set to redefine what classic American muscle can be: bold, beautiful, and built entirely around the individual.
