AOC Ridicules Hegseth After Being Congratulated for 'Not a Single Leak' From Iran Bombing: 'Not a Vote of Confidence'
Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez mocked Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth after a conservative political pundit congratulated him for managing the U.S. attack on Iran without any leaks. The New York representative took to X (formerly Twitter) to respond to conservative columnist amd Newsmax host Todd Starnes who had commended Hegseth on the same platform earlier. "Not a single leak. Well done, @SecDef," Starnes wrote, appearing to refer to the Signalgate scandal from earlier this year after it was revealed that a journalist was added to a private Signal chat of Trump officials discussing strikes on Yemen. "This is like applauding a grown man for being able to wipe their behind. Not exactly a vote of confidence," AOC responded. Social media users quickly took to the replies of Ocasio-Cortez's post to further ridicule Hegseth, with some expressing frustrations at the fact that the Trump administration had become involved in another foreign war. "The cowardice displayed here, by not seeking the Congress' declaration of war, is astounding," said one. "All day I've been seeing house MAGA applauding @SecDef for not leaking out anything about the bombings. I WANT TO KNOW why is this deemed normal? We shouldn't have to be praising a grown man let alone the @SecDef for not drunk texting military secrets," said another. "Like why are we congratulating someone who's supposed to be doing their jobs," another user wrote. President Donald Trump announced that the U.S. had successfully bombed three Iranian nuclear sites in a national address delivered from the White House on Saturday evening. Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, a close ally to AOC, also commented on the attack, drawing parallels between this attack to the U.S. invasion of Iraq. "No weapons of mass destruction were ever found," Sanders said, referencing the Iraq invasion. "That war was based on a lie. A lie that cost us 4,500 young Americans, 32,000 wounded and trillions of dollars." "We cannot let history repeat itself," he continued. Originally published on Latin Times

Sen. Lindsey Graham slammed for ‘game on' tweet after Israel bombs Iran
South Carolina Republican Senator Lindsey Graham is facing widespread criticism for a tweet he posted following the Israeli strikes on Iran. 'Game on. Pray for Israel,' he wrote on Thursday night. Israel struck bases and nuclear sites in an attack more severe than previous attacks on Iran, with President Donald Trump pushing the country to agree to fresh restrictions on its nuclear program as additional strikes could be 'more brutal.' 'Game? Your soul is lost,' said broadcaster Keith Olbermann in response. 'I have no doubt that you are incredibly turned on right now, Senator. Iranians, who are caught in this mess, deserve your prayers too but I know we are just an afterthought. You're a disgrace,' said journalist Yashar Ali. 'Game? You're disgusting,' Owen Shroyer added. Israel killed a number of Iran's security chiefs, dealing a severe blow to the country's chain of command. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has described the attack as a way to prevent Iran from getting a nuclear weapon, which is seen as an existential threat by the Israelis. 'A game? You piece of s***,' wrestling reporter Sean Ross Sapp wrote to Graham. Meghan McCain, the daughter of the late Arizona Senator John McCain, whom Graham admired, added to the criticism, writing, 'It's not a f****** game Lindsey.' 'It isn't a game, Senator. You confirmed a talkshow host SecDef who texts strike plans on unsecured apps,' said Heath Mayo, the founder of the conservative group Principles First. 'You supported a President who thinks Ukraine caused Putin's invasion. You should pray for all of us. We're going to need all the help we can get with amateurs in charge.' 'It's not a game, dip****,' attorney Ron Filipkowski added. Meanwhile, Pennsylvania Democratic Senator John Fetterman called for Israel to continue 'wiping out Iranian leadership.' 'Our commitment to Israel must be absolute and I fully support this attack,' he wrote on X late on Thursday. 'Keep wiping out Iranian leadership and the nuclear personnel. We must provide whatever is necessary—military, intelligence, weaponry—to fully back Israel in striking Iran.' While writer Tim Shorrock called Fetterman 'The drooling War Maniac from Pennsylvania,' singer/songwriter John Ondrasik called the senator 'a Lion in a sea of Lemmings' and former White House Press Secretary Ari Fleischer said Fetterman 'is amazing.' 'His support of Israel used to be standard for almost every D in Washington. Now he's a lonely voice, but he remains an amazingly powerful and inspiring voice,' he added.

‘…dangerous place': Donald Trump as US to pull some personnel from Middle East amid tensions with Iran
With nuclear deal negotiations between the US and Iran at a standstill, Washington has opted to pull some of its personnel from the Middle East. President Donald Trump cited rising tensions, calling the region a potentially dangerous place. 'They (US personnel) are being moved out (of some countries of the Middle East) because it could be a dangerous place, and we will see what have given notice to move out,' Donald Trump told the media when asked about the evacuation. On being asked whether anything can be done to lower the temperature in the region, Trump replied, 'They can't have a nuclear weapon. Very simple. They can't have a nuclear weapon. We're not going to allow that.' He was reportedly referring to Iran. This confirmation by President Trump comes right after Reuters reported on Wednesday that the US is preparing for a partial evacuation of its embassy in Iraq and is also allowing other military dependents to leave locations in the middle-east due to enhanced security risks, citing sources. However, the sources did not say what the security risks were. These evacuations also come at a time when US intelligence has hinted that Israel, which is in a war with Gaza right now, is preparing to hit the nuclear facilities in Iran, Reuters reported. A US senator from Arkansas Tom Cotton also claimed on Thursday that defence secretary Pete Hegseth had confirmed that Iran was working towards building a nuclear weapon amid a stalled nuclear deal between the countries. For the sake of our national security, the security of our allies, and millions of civilians in the region this cannot be allowed to happen,' he said in a post on X. Trump, who has also repeatedly maintained that he does not want Iran to have a nuclear weapon, told the New York Post in an interview released on Wednesday that he is growing 'less confident' about Iran shutting down its nuclear program and stopping uranium enrichment. 'I don't know, I did think so, and I'm getting more and more — less confident about it. They seem to be delaying, and I think that's a shame, but I'm less confident now than I would have been a couple of months ago. Something happened to them, but I am much less confident of a deal being made,' he told the NYP. Trump also indicated that the US might use force if Iran doesn't agree on the nuclear deal. However, Iranian Defence Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh also said on Wednesday that if their country was struck, it would retaliate by hitting American bases in the region, the Reuters report said. Pete Hegseth confirmed Iran working towards nuclear weapon, claims US senator
US senator from Arkansas Tom Cotton on Thursday claimed that defence secretary Pete Hegseth had confirmed that Iran was working towards building a nuclear weapon amid a stalled nuclear deal between the countries. Iran has long denied having plans to build a nuclear weapon, although it has been enriching uranium to a higher point than required for civilian purposes, leading to wariness from the US and other western countries. Earlier this week, Trump said he was "much less confident of a deal being made. 'They seem to be delaying, and I think that's a shame," he told the New York Post. Tehran says 'ready for talks' to restart relations Iran has warned of retaliation against US military assets in the Middle East if the talks collapse and the Islamic Republic is attacked. 'I sincerely hope it won't come to that and that the talks reach a resolution,' Iran's Defense Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh said. 'But if they don't, and conflict is imposed on us, the other side will undoubtedly suffer greater losses. We will target all US bases in host countries without hesitation," he added.
