KUALA LUMPUR: Police have opened a disciplinary investigation against five policemen suspected of extorting a Taiwanese woman during a recent incident in SS2, Petaling Jaya. Petaling Jaya district police chief ACP Shahrulnizam Jaafar said they had previously been detained, but their remand application was rejected by the court. "The case is being investigated under Section 384 of the Penal Code, and a disciplinary file has also been opened for a parallel investigation. "For now, all five policemen have been reassigned to other duties pending the outcome of the investigation," he said when contacted today. A local media reported that a Taiwanese woman alleged on social media that she had been extorted by policeman during a roadblock in SS2, Petaling Jaya on July 7.
