Dr Mostafa Mousa Badawi, Director of the Centre for Sustainable Development at Zewail City, praised the UAE participants' discipline, enthusiasm, and high level of engagement, highlighting the UAE's forward-looking approach to science and innovation. A defining moment for young Emiratis Participants expressed their gratitude for this exceptional opportunity to explore AI concepts in a setting that combined expert knowledge, modern facilities, and applied learning. They described the experience as a pivotal milestone in their academic and professional journey. Mleiha Club extended its appreciation to the Sharjah Sports Council for its continuous support, which enables clubs to deliver high-quality, cross-border educational programmes in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah. This initiative was part of the 'Our Holiday is Different' summer programme, running from 30 June to 31 July 2025. The club began its AI journey in Sharjah and continued it in Zewail City, affirming the role of Emirati youth in shaping the future and the importance of investing in knowledge to build nations.

Introducing concepts of virtual and augmented reality The workshop, which was organised on Tuesday, began by introducing participants to the concepts of virtual and augmented reality and how to employ these modern technologies to develop sports exercises and hone physical and mental skills. Participants used augmented reality glasses to engage in interactive sessions in digital environments that simulate future training and sports arenas. Participants experienced an atmosphere of excitement and discovery, interacting with virtual content in a way that stimulated sensory and visual perception. This unique experience combined learning with enjoyment, and contributed to strengthening their understanding of the difference between the digital and real worlds through purposeful discussions and practical application. Keeping pace with digital transformation The workshop is part of Al Dhaid Club's vision to keep pace with digital transformations in the sports sector and instill the concepts of innovation and technology in the minds of the younger generation. This emphasises the importance of building future capabilities and enhancing national competencies in modern fields. A generation capable of interacting with technological changes For his part, His Excellency Humaid Abdullah Balsadriya Al Khatri, Vice Chairman of Al Dhaid Club's Board of Directors, emphasised that the workshop embodies the club's commitment to preparing a generation capable of interacting with technological changes in a sporting spirit. He noted that adopting augmented reality technologies in training programs is a qualitative step that opens new horizons for Emirati youth to discover their potential in a fun and innovative way. Al Khatri explained that these initiatives come with the support of the Sharjah Sports Council (SSC) and the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to promote the concept of cognitive sports and prepare a conscious generation capable of excelling in the arenas of the future.

It also reflects the goals of the Sharjah Sports Council, guided by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to invest in the education of future generations. The program began with the summer activities launched on June 30th, set to continue until July 31st. Initially held in Mleiha, Sharjah, this program expands to Egypt to provide participants with a more enriching educational experience in a country known for its scientific contributions, especially through the legacy of Dr. Ahmed Zewail. The event took place at the Sustainable Development Center in Zewail City, located in 6th of October City, and was attended by Professor Dr. Mustafa Moussa Badawi, who heads the center. He expressed his enthusiasm for collaborating with the Mleiha Club and emphasized the importance of building educational partnerships in the Arab world, particularly in the growing field of artificial intelligence. The first day of the workshop focused on introducing participants to the basics of artificial intelligence (AI). This included understanding data, how to classify information, and make predictions. Participants also explored practical uses of AI in educational tools like Teachable Machine and Pictoblox. They learned how to design a smart application using a platform called MIT App Inventor. The day was full of interactions, and participants enjoyed building and showcasing their innovative projects. They even had a chance to tour Zewail City of Science and Technology, a prominent scientific institution. On the second day, participants continued their exciting journey by working on their projects with creative tools such as ChatGPT, which helps turn text into images, and learned how to interact with modern AI applications. The event concluded with final presentations and the awarding of certificates, celebrating the hard work and creativity displayed over the two days. Al Khasouni highlighted that launching the Artificial Intelligence Workshop at Zewail City marks a significant achievement in the club's summer activities. It reflects the vision of UAE leadership and the efforts of the Sharjah government to invest in knowledge and equip young people with future skills. He noted that this workshop follows an earlier program called "Our Vacation is Different," which aimed to provide training and learning experiences for youth. Now, it has developed further by taking place at a top scientific institution, demonstrating a commitment to applying learned skills in real-life scenarios. This partnership with Zewail City has been essential in delivering this program to the Emirati community. Al Khasouni expressed his happiness with the enthusiasm and engagement shown by participants during the first day.
