Delhi: President Droupadi Murmu visits ailing former Jharkhand CM Shibu Soren
New Delhi [India], June 26 (ANI): President Droupadi Murmu visited the ailing former Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Shibu Soren, at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi on Thursday. President Murmu met his son, and Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Hemant Soren, and enquired about Shibu Soren's health. President of India's X handle stated, 'President Droupadi Murmu visited the ailing former Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Shri Shibu Soren, at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital. She met Shri Soren's son and Chief Minister of Jharkhand Shri Hemant Soren, and enquired about Shri Shibu Soren's health.' Shibu Soren, who was serving as the president of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, was elected as the 'Founder Patron' of the party in the 13th 'Mahaadhiveshan' of JMM in April this year. Hemant Soren was elected as the new party president. Earlier today, President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated the Sir Ganga Ram Cancer Centre in New Delhi and interacted with patients. 'President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated the Sir Ganga Ram Cancer Center in New Delhi, which aims to provide comprehensive care to cancer patients. During the visit, the President witnessed the state-of-the-art facilities and interacted with the patients,' President of India's X handle stated. On Tuesday, President Murmu met Sikkim Governor Om Prakash Mathur at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi as a courtesy call. During the meeting, the Governor updated the President on the ongoing development projects in Sikkim and the public-focused initiatives being led by Raj Bhavan. He also presented the President with a book titled 'Utkarsh Yatra,' which highlights the key programs, initiatives, and outreach activities undertaken by the Governor during his first six months in office. Nitin Gadkari to inaugurate Ratu road flyover next month: Seth
1 2 Ranchi: The inauguration of the Ratu Road flyover has been postponed to July 3 against its original scheduled launch on June 19 due to unavailability of the Union road transport & highways minister Nitin Gadkari , Ranchi MP and Union minister of state for defence Sanjay Seth announced on Tuesday. The 4.18km long corridor is built by NHAI at a cost of Rs 291 crore. "It links NH- 23 on the Pandra side to NH- 75, with two lanes on one end and four lanes on the other. It includes bulletproof and soundproof barriers throughout, plus extensive plantation along the route," flyover's site manager Anand Kumar said. Once operational, the flyover will end traffic congestions on Ratu road. Politicking over naming the flyover has picked up pace before its launch. The JMM led INDIA bloc and the opposition camp, led by NDA have proposed various names and social and cultural outfits have also joined the bandwagon. While JMM and Congress demanded that the flyover be named after former chief minister Shibu Soren. Likewise, the BJP wants the flyover to renamed after a freedom fighter or legendary national figure. JMM general secretary Vinod Pandey said, "Naming the flyover after Shibu Soren will be a fitting tribute to his struggle for separate Jharkhand. Kesharwani Vaishya Samaj has demanded the govt to name it after Bishweshwar Prasad Kesari, leader of the Jharkhand movement, educationist and historian while Rashtriya Yuva Shakti, a social outfit, on Tuesday at a press meet urged the govt to name it after martyr Abhishek Kumar Sahu, who sacrificed his life in service of the nation in Leh-Ladakh on Oct 28, 2020.
