The Society trailer: Bigg Boss meets Squid Game in Munawar's new show

Munawar Faruqui's 'The Society' trailer is out, and it teases a gripping mix of 'Bigg Boss', 'Lock Upp', and 'Squid Game'. The much-anticipated reality show reveals a twisted social experiment where survival is far from simple. Contestants must endure bizarre challenges, including consuming inedible food, while performing tasks that test their endurance and show is not an Indian remake of the Korean hit 'Squid Game', though it clearly draws visual and thematic inspiration from it. With elements like uniforms, a dormitory-style bunk bed setup, and the central 'money in the vault' concept, the similarities are hard to miss. However, unlike 'Squid Game', the show steers clear of deadly challenges. Instead, it focusses on intense, strategic gameplay rooted in social hierarchy. So, while the vibe may feel familiar, this is far from a desi version of the dystopian thriller. advertisementLaunched under JioHotstar's Sparks banner, 'The Society' premieres on July 21. Hosted by comedian Munawar Faruqui and co-hosted by Shreya Kalra, the show introduces a bold new format that mirrors real-life class series brings together 25 contestants, divided into three social tiers: Royals, Regulars, and Rags. As the game unfolds over 200 hours of content, alliances shift and hierarchies collapse, with each participant vying for the title of 'Asli Baazigar'. Elaborating on the show's concept, Munawar said in a statement, 'The Society isn't just a game; it's a mirror to the outside world. Power shifts, loyalties break, it's raw, real, and relentless.''The Society' is expected to be released on July 21 on JioHotstar Sparks.- EndsMust Watch
