Disposable barbecue blamed for Nesscliffe woodland fire
A woodland fire that took more than six hours to bring under control is believed to have been caused by a disposable fire engines were sent to the blaze after Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service said they were called about the fire in Nesscliffe, near Shrewsbury, at about 22:15 BST on blaze involved about 20 sq m (215 sq ft) of woodland and undergrowth at Hopton brigade said, after the fire was out by 04:48 BST on Sunday, it was believed to have been caused by a disposable barbecue. Outdoor fires warning after Minsterley wildfire
The public has been warned of the dangers of lighting fires outdoors during hot weather after one developed into a large wildfire that took emergency crews from five stations four hours to Fire and Rescue Service said it was called to land at Bromlow near Minsterley at 17:36 on Thursday and found an area 500m (1,640ft) by 200m (656ft) well fire service thanked local farmers for helping to damp it down Manager Craig Jackson said: "The hot weather we have been having means the ground is particular dry and flammable so we would urge the public not to have bonfires or take BBQs into open spaces." Abandoned Shifnal caravan to be removed after fire
A caravan left in a country lane which was set on fire will be removed by the local Fire and Rescue Service said firefighters were called to Redhill Lane near Shifnal at 12:43 BST on Sunday to put the blaze Madden, 61, said he first saw the caravan in the lane and it appeared to have been abandoned."I couldn't believe it," he said, "I've often seen stuff dumped there but nothing that big before." Mr Madden added: "The signs say they are monitoring it for fly-tipping but obviously not very closely if a whole caravan can be taken down there."Shropshire Council said the caravan would be removed in the next few days. Highley pub's wooden chalet destroyed in fire
A fire has destroyed a pub's chalet after it ripped through the Fire and Rescue Service were called to the Malt Shovel Pub in Highley on Saturday at about 00:12 posted on the fire service's Facebook page show firefighters extinguishing glowing red and orange crews from Bridgnorth, Kidderminster and Cleobury Mortimer were sent to the blaze and discovered the remains of a wooden chalet, a spokesperson added. Delays after vehicle fire on M54 between Telford and Wellington
Drivers are being warned of delays on the M54 westbound after a vehicle fire. Crews were called to reports of a car fire near junction six (Telford West) at 16:38 BST, Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service service confirmed that the fire, which involved a diesel, saloon car, had been extinguished at 17:13 BST, however traffic remained slow. One out of three lanes are closed between junction five (Telford Central) and junction six (Telford West), National Highways said.
