Sebastian Fundora vows to KO Tim Tszyu in Las Vegas title rematch
Sebastian Fundora has declared he will knock out Tim Tszyu and leave his career in tatters as the world's best boxer, Terence Crawford, warned the Australian to brace for more pain in Sin City. Fundora insists the bloody punishment Tszyu copped in their first bout will be nothing compared to the beating he cops in their world-title rematch at MGM Grand this Sunday (AEST). And the cocky American has taunted his rival by rubbishing suggestions the Sydneysider had his vision badly impaired by a head cut in their first fight, insisting Tszyu could see him the whole time. The warning from the 'Towering Inferno' came as American legend Crawford claimed Tszyu will be carrying mental demons from his savage beatdown against Bakhram Murtazaliev last October. Bookmakers have installed Tszyu as the $1.62 favourite to exact revenge – despite the Sydneysider losing to Fundora on Las Vegas soil 16 months ago in a 12-round war at T-Mobile Arena. Sebastian Fundora (R) left Tim Tszyu a bloody mess in the last fight between the pair. Picture: Getty Tszyu lost his WBO super welterweight strap in an agonising split-decision loss marred by his shocking head cut and there is a view he will dominate Fundora without his vision impaired by a fountain of blood. But Fundora (22-1-1) rubbished suggestions the 'Soul Taker' (25-2) will win their return bout for the WBC world title, warning Tszyu to brace for a second consecutive stitch-up in Sin City. 'That's what people want to see in boxing, a bloody mess,' Fundora said ahead of Sunday's rematch. 'The only thing that was missing (in their first fight) was the knockout, but I'll be going for one this time, for sure. 'He is a warrior, a tough guy, very tough, but unfortunately in boxing, being the tough guy won't get you the win. 'I tell my dad the ones I hate are the good ones, and I hate this one. 'I am glad I can share the ring again with someone like Tim Tszyu. 'He is world class, a world champion, it's just the Towering Inferno is that much better. 'I want it more.' Tszyu is in supreme shape heading into the rematch with the 30-year-old having little issue so far with his weight cut. He is already two kilos lighter at this stage of his preparation than he was in his most recent bout in April against American Joey Spencer, who lasted just four rounds as Tszyu fought superbly to reignite his career. But Fundora's fellow countryman Crawford says Tszyu's clinical disposal of Spencer will not fully erase the mental and physical scars of his crushing loss to Murtazaliev in his Orlando obliteration. Bakhram Murtazaliev also unleashed a world of hurt on Tim Tszyu. Picture: Getty Tszyu was knocked down four times by unbeaten Russian monster Murtazaliev (23-0) in three rounds of brutality that raised questions over his ability to fight back from such a heavy defeat. Crawford, widely regarded as the best pound-for-pound pugilist in the sport today, was in talks to fight Tszyu last year before the Australian finalised a world-title shot with Fundora. Nicknamed 'Bud', Crawford, unbeaten with 41 wins in a stellar 17-year pro career, says Tszyu is at long odds to get even with Fundora. 'In boxing anything is possible, but Fundora is the favourite for me,' Crawford told this masthead. 'Tim is a very good fighter and I wish him all the best, but that loss to Murtazaliev will take a lot out of him. 'He was too confident and at this level you can't take any opponent lightly, especially with a world title on the line. Crawford believes it is unlikely Tszyu is able to win his rematch against Fundora. Picture: Getty 'It was a heavy loss. There will be some doubts about whether he can come back from that, absolutely.' Tszyu had just 11 days to prepare for Fundora last year after his initial opponent, Keith Thurman, tore his bicep entering the final stretch of preparations. At 197cm, and with a 203cm reach, Fundora is the tallest current world champion on the planet, but Tszyu is ready to bring the Towering Inferno crashing down. 'I got to study him properly and do a proper camp this time,' Tszyu said. 'A true champion rises to the occasion. 'I've always been a guy to take on any challenge. I want the hardest challenges possible. 'It's exciting because I get to rewrite my mistakes. 'I want that title, I want that belt, I want redemption.'

Jessica Alba seals her relationship with Danny Ramirez with a kiss! See pics
Holllywood actor Jessica Alba appears to have made her new romance with actor Danny Ramirez official, locking lips with the Captain America: Brave New World actor in public. The smooch-filled sighting, on Friday, was captured in photos and video published by TMZ . Jessica Alba and Danny Ramirez have been spotted several times together According to the report, the pair can be seen sharing a passionate kiss outside Danny's Los Angeles home. Dressed in coordinating casualwear — black tops, baggy gray sweatpants, and dark-colored baseball caps — the two looked totally in sync. The moment marks the most public sign yet that Jessica and Danny are more than just friends. Jessica, 44, and Danny, 32, had already fueled dating rumors earlier this month when they were seen returning to Los Angeles from a Cancún getaway, earlier this month. Days later, they were spotted on a cozy dinner date at an Italian restaurant in West Hollywood. In the video, Jessica can also be seen helping Danny with what looks like some home decor — the two walk across the street to his home carrying a giant potted orchid. This new romance comes amid a transitional time for the Sin City star, who earlier this year filed for divorce from Cash Warren after 16 years of marriage. In a heartfelt Instagram post at the time, Jessica shared: 'I've been on a journey of self realization and transformation for years – both as an individual and in partnership with Cash. I'm proud of how we've grown in our marriage over the last 20 years and it's now time for us to embark on a new chapter of growth and evolution as individuals.' She added, 'We are moving forward with love, kindness and respect for each other and will forever be family. Our children remain our highest priority.' The exes share three children: Honor, 17, Haven, 13, and Hayes, 7. From date nights to home visits, Jessica Alba seems ready to embrace her next chapter — and if this kiss is anything to go by, she's doing it with Danny Ramirez by her side.

'Jetflicks' is off the air: Five pay the price for $37.5M illegal TV streaming scheme
In a Sin City scheme reminiscent of a made-for-TV miniseries, five Nevada men have been sentenced for their roles in an illegal streaming operation whose inventory of illicitly obtained TV episodes exceeded that of streaming giants such as Netflix or Amazon Prime. Federal investigators say the streaming enterprise, dubbed Jetflicks, resulted in copyright infringement valued at as much as $37.5 million — and that's a conservative estimate. The men were sentenced in late May to prison terms ranging from time served to seven years in federal custody, with final judgments issued on Monday. According to the U.S. Department of Justice, the case was the largest-ever involving internet piracy brought to trial, as well as the first involving illegal streaming. The operation, the department said, harmed 'every major copyright owner of a television program in the United States,' constituting millions of dollars' worth of lost revenue. 'By building and running one of the largest unauthorized streaming services in the U.S., these individuals not only stole from content creators and legitimate streaming services; they undermined the integrity of our economy and the rule of law," said Jose A. Perez, assistant director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation's Criminal Investigative Division. 'These sentencings are a reminder that illegal actions have consequences.' According to court documents and trial evidence, Jetflicks was an online subscription-based service based in Las Vegas through which users could stream and occasionally download copyrighted TV programs without their owners' permission. At one point, Jetflicks boasted a selection of more than 183,000 different TV episodes, significantly more than licensed streaming services such as Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime or Vudu. Jetflicks 'made available more television episodes than any licensed streaming service on the market,' said Matthew Galeotti, acting assistant attorney general for the Justice Department's criminal division. 'This scheme generated millions of dollars in criminal profits and hurt thousands of U.S. companies and individuals who owned the copyrights to these shows but never received a penny in compensation from Jetflicks,' Galeotti said. According to VdoCipher, a secure hosting and video streaming platform designed to thwart piracy, pirated video material reaps more than 230 billion views globally each year, rivaling or even surpassing the volume of legal platforms. The company cited projections estimating that streaming piracy will cost U.S. video providers over $113 billion in lost revenues by 2027. Operation made some illegal streams available within a day The five Nevada men, all of Las Vegas, were convicted after a 14-day trial that ended in June 2024. Found guilty of conspiracy to commit copyright infringement were Kristopher Lee Dallmann, 42; Douglas M. Courson, 65; Felipe Garcia, 43; Peter H. Huber, 67; and Jared Edward Jaurequi, 44, also known as Jared Edwards. Additionally, Dallman was convicted of money laundering and criminal copyright infringement both by distribution and by performance. Dallman was sentenced to 84 months in prison, while Huber received an 18-month term. Jaurequi was sentenced to approximately five months already served in addition to 180 days of home confinement and 500 hours of community service. Garcia was sentenced to 49 days in prison, three years' probation and 1,000 hours of community service, while Courson received a sentence of 48 days in prison and three years' probation. According to evidence presented at trial, the defendants used automated software and nonstop computer scripts to scour global sites for pirated content. Content was downloaded, processed, stored and made immediately available for streaming and/or downloading to Jetflicks' tens of thousands of paid subscribers, in some cases as soon as the day after it had aired. The five defendants were among eight people originally indicted in connection with the operation in the Eastern District of Virginia before the case was transferred to the District of Nevada for trial. They performed various roles for Jetflicks ranging from management, content acquisition, customer interface, technical assistance, website design and computer programming and coding, the Justice Department said. Previously, computer programmer Darryl Polo was sentenced by a U.S. District Court judge for the District of Virginia in May 2021 to four years and nine months in prison on four counts of criminal copyright infringement and one count of money laundering for his involvement with Jetflicks and an equally large illegal streaming site he ran called iStreamItAll. Meanwhile, Luis Villarino was sentenced to a year and a day in prison on a count of conspiracy to commit criminal copyright infringement. A final defendant, Yoany Vaillant, a Cuban citizen who also did computer programming for Jetflicks, was tried separately from the other five defendants once the case moved to Nevada. In November, Vaillant was convicted by a federal jury of conspiracy to commit criminal copyright infringement and is scheduled to be sentenced on Sept. 4. The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation's field office in Washington, D.C., with the bureau's Las Vegas field office assisting.

R Praggnanandhaa forces Magnus Carlsen to resign: How Indian Grandmaster outwitted world No.1 in 39 moves
Magnus Carlsen was off to a strong start in the Las Vegas leg of the Freestyle Chess Grand Slam Tour, starting his campaign with two wins and a draw in the group stage. The world No 1, however, lost to R Praggnanandhaa in just 39 moves that began a slide that culminated in him missing out on the quarter-finals. read more The fourth leg of the Freestyle Chess Grand Slam Tour is currently underway in Las Vegas, and it has been quite the dramatic leg so far. 'Sin City', after all, bore witness to world No 1 Magnus Carlsen, the tour's co-founder who had won the Paris and Karlsruhe legs with ease, fail to qualify for the quarter-finals after finishing fifth in his eight-player group. The Norwegian Grandmaster started his Las Vegas campaign with victories over Vincent Keymer and Levon Aronian before being held to a draw by Javokhir Sindarov. However, it was back-to-back defeats against India's R Praggnanandhaa and American GM Wesley So that derailed his campaign. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD Despite defeating Bibisara Assaubayeva in his final group game after a draw against Nodirbek Abdusattorov, Carlsen finished tied on four points with Aronian for the fourth spot, leading to a playoff between the two for the quarter-finals which the Armenian-born American GM ended up winning 2-0. How Praggnanandhaa defeated Carlsen The defeat against 'Pragg' was the third time Carlsen lost to an Indian this year, after his losses against reigning Classical world champion D Gukesh at Norway Chess as well as SuperUnited Rapid & Blitz Croatia. And looking back at his campaign, it was his defeat against 19-year-old Praggnanandhaa after a strong start that began his slide. What stood out in Praggnanandhaa's victory over Carlsen was the manner in which he defeated the world's top-ranked player across formats, who is also considered among the greatest to have ever played the sport. Carlsen resigned in just 39 moves in the 10+10 game, that too when he had 49 seconds left on the clock compared to just 21 for his opponent. The game began with both players advancing their knights, with Praggnanandhaa playing as white. And it was Carlsen's decision to capture his opponent's knight with his pawn (11. cxd4) in his 11th move that was flagged as questionable by the Stockfish engines used by and Lichess, with the latter recommending Qd7 as the ideal move for the scenario. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD The move shot up the eval bar in Praggnanandhaa's favour, and the Indian further solidified his position after a blunder by Carlsen three moves later (Rxd8), in which the 34-year-old responded to a check (Nxd6+) from his opponent's knight by capturing it with his rook. At this point, the eval bar had shot up to 3.2 in Praggnanandhaa's favour on There were a couple of inaccurate moves on Pragg's part as well, from his decision to initiate a Queen exchange in the 17th move (17. Qxb5 Qxb5) to moving his bishop by a square (21. Bc2). Carlsen, however, once again fortified his opponent's position with yet another blunder – this time advancing his light-squared bishop to the other side of the board for a check (22. Ba2+). It wasn't long before Praggnanandhaa began chasing the black King with his rooks and the dark-squared bishop and had it cornered along the left flank of the board, with Carlsen eventually resigning in less than 40 moves.
