Bryce Hall claims 50 Cent tried to block ‘Skill House' release with $5M legal dispute
Bryce Hall has spoken out following a legal dispute involving rapper 50 Cent, claiming the music mogul attempted to block the release of their upcoming horror film Skill House just days before its premiere. The TikTok influencer told The US Sun, 'He was essentially trying to hold us hostage for $5 million before the movie could come out.' 50 Cent reportedly filed a lawsuit alleging unauthorised use of his name, image and voice without compensation. A judge denied the request for a preliminary injunction, allowing the film's July 11 release to proceed. The case itself remains ongoing. Hall, who stars in the film alongside 50 Cent, expressed surprise at the situation. 'We beat him in court a few days ago and now I can promote the movie and everything's fine,' he said, adding that the rapper had been 'extremely nice' on set. Directed by creators behind the Saw franchise, Skill House depicts influencers trapped in a competition for views—where the lowest-ranking participant meets a gruesome end. 'I feel like people will do really demoralising things for views… this kind of highlights that, except obviously exaggerated,' said Hall. Despite the dispute, Hall said he hopes to continue working in film, combining his influencer presence with acting roles. 'Obviously we had some bumps in the road with 50, but it was a really fun experience and I'd love to continue.'

50 Cent fails to block Bryce Hall's film Skillhouse as court denies preliminary injunction
Rapper and producer 50 Cent has lost a bid to prevent the release of the upcoming horror film Skillhouse, starring Bryce Hall. A federal judge denied his request for a preliminary injunction on July 3, 2025, allowing the movie to proceed toward its scheduled July 11 premiere. In April, 50 Cent's production company, NYC Vibe, filed a lawsuit against Skillhouse's producers—including Ryan Kavanaugh, Skill House Movie LLC, and GenTV LLC—claiming the film used his name, image, voice, and likeness without a signed agreement or compensation. He alleges that despite filming his scenes and those with his son Sire based on 'good-faith promises,' no final contract existed and he has not been paid. 🚨 50 Cent FAILED to block Bryce Hall's movie Skill House, as the judge DENIED his request for a preliminary injunction to stop its release. — DramaAlert (@DramaAlert) July 3, 2025 During the injunction hearing, the judge determined that 50 Cent failed to meet the legal standard required—showing a likelihood of success on the merits and proving irreparable harm. As a result, Skillhouse can move forward with its limited theatrical release set by Fathom Entertainment. Skillhouse, directed by Josh Stolberg, combines horror with social media satire and showcases a cast of influencers, including Bryce Hall and Paige VanZant . Produced by 50 Cent, Neal McDonough, and others, the film was shot in 2022 and gained attention for its intense scenes and influencer cast. The ruling allows Skillhouse to proceed to theaters while the lawsuit continues. If 50 Cent appeals, the film's future could shift, but for now, fans and critics alike await its debut despite the controversy.
