Sydney Sweeney Reveals Glen Powell Helped Her Land a Gig

Sydney Sweeney couldn't stop fangirling over Tate McRae as she gushed about how Glen Powell helped them connect. The actor revealed that Powell helped her land the gig with McRae on her new music video during her recent appearance on 'The Kelly Clarkson Show.' The host, Clarkson, teased the subject, questioning Sweeney about how she nabbed the opportunity to work with the singer, prompting her to rave about her former co-star's role. Glen Powell played a major role in Sydney Sweeney and Tate McRae's collaboration in 'Miss Possessive.' During her appearance on Kelly Clarkson's talk show, Sweeney lavished praise on her 'Anyone But You' co-star for helping her connect with the singer. In the episode, Clarkson seemed too curious about the duo's iconic joint endeavour in the song, triggering the discussion about Powell's involvement and how it possibly couldn't have happened without him. 'You were on a Tate McRae song, how did that happen?' the host asked Sweeney, who was thrilled to answer. She revealed being McRae's and her music's 'huge fan,' but admitted to not knowing her before that. 'I think she's so beyond talented, and she's so hot,' the Emmy-nominated star raved about the singer, ultimately dishing that Powell 'connected' them. She explained, 'He was like, 'Hey, Tate wants me to connect you two. Can I give her your number?' I said, 'Yeah sure.'' Acknowledging Glen Powell's role in the collaboration, Sydney Sweeney shared that Tate McRae reached out to her soon after. The latter reportedly requested a sample of her voice for her latest album. Both Clarkson and Sweeney unanimously agreed that it was 'so cool' she got to work with the musician, and all fans have Powell to thank for the epic collab. 'Miss Possessive' is the opening track of the 'So Close to What' album. It features a brief portion with Sweeney, saying, 'No, seriously, get your hands off my man.' The revelation came days after Powell's rumored ex, Gigi Paris, seemingly broke her silence on their highly publicized breakup. Paris appeared on the 'Too Much' podcast and talked about a former boyfriend without taking names, revealing she knew exactly when to walk away. Originally reported by Nikita Mahato on Reality Tea. Hear Tate McRae Join Morgan Wallen on Intimate Ballad ‘What I Want'

Morgan Wallen has dropped his new album, I'm the Problem, which includes the highly-discussed collaboration with Tate McRae. The crooning ballad sees the pair sharing vocals as they sing about a temporary relationship between two broken people. Wallen announced the duet last month, causing McRae's fans to criticize her decision to work with the country singer. 'If McRae had a country-pop pivot in mind, there were plenty of options that wouldn't place her next to one of country's most radioactive stars,' Rolling Stone wrote at the time. 'She's stepped into the hazard zone, but it's unlikely to completely derail her rising star — it might just bring her to an audience that doesn't care much about morals as long as the music is good. It'll have to run its course.' 'We recorded around 50 songs for this album and ended up cutting 13,' Wallen explained in a statement. 'I feel like we accomplished what I had in mind, and a huge shoutout to my close collaborators on this too. They came in ready and fired up every single day, and they inspire me as much as anything else.' In support of his new album, Wallen will hit the road for his I'm the Problem tour across North America and will kick things off in Houston, Texas, at NRG Stadium with Corey Kent and Koe Wetzel on June 20. Other special guests planned for the stadium run include Brooks & Dunn, Miranda Lambert, Thomas Rhett, Gavin Adcock, Ella Langley, and Anne Wilson. McRae's latest LP, So Close to What, arrived earlier this year and went to No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 chart. She is currently out on her global Miss Possessive Tour, which continues through September. Tate McRae Is Getting A Ton Of Hate For Collaborating With Morgan Wallen On His New Album, And It's All Making Me Extremely Uncomfy

It's official: Tate McRae is one of Gen Z's newest, biggest, and best pop stars. If you don't agree, I'm sorry, but you're wrong. Love her or hate her, Tate is absolutely taking over the pop music scene. In case you want some background on her success, here it is: Tate's new album, So Close to What, debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, and she's also about to embark on a massive arena tour. People often call Tate "the new Britney," because they kinda give off the same vibe (and, uh, Tate was a professional dancer). But while Tate's fanbase has been growing dramatically, it's a bit of a different story for country singer Morgan Wallen. He's been the subject of several scandals over the years that have put a bad taste in peoples' mouths — including using the n-word in 2021 and getting arrested twice for "disorderly conduct" in 2020 and 2024. Most recently, you might remember that Morgan walked off the set of Saturday Night Live a couple weeks ago, which sparked controversy (and became the subject of many jokes). All of these instances have led to several other celebs openly calling out Morgan. So basically, supporting him isn't really the vibe for many other singers right now. In 2021, Justin Bieber apologized publicly after posting Morgan's music on his Instagram Story, saying he "[doesn't] support or tolerate any sort of racism or discrimination." Well, here's where things get interesting. Leading up to the release of his new album, Morgan confirmed through a tweet posted on April 9 that the song "What I Want" will be a duet with a female artist. Then, on April 15, Tate posted a photo to her Instagram Story of an orange jersey with "T8" written on it, along with Morgan's "MW" logo in small letters. So fans connected the dots, and they turned out to be right — on April 16, Morgan Wallen confirmed Tate will indeed be featured on his album. Given Morgan's controversies, fans are now putting Tate on blast, expressing their disappointment that she'd support him by being featured on his song: i knew in my soul not to jump on the tate mcrae bandwagon — chase (@cfree94) April 15, 2025 Twitter: @cfree94 tate mcrae collabing with morgan wallen...... i'm actually so disappointed in her rn — 𝖗𝖔 𓆩♱𓆪 (@theroprint) April 15, 2025 Twitter: @theroprint aaaaand no more streams for tate mcrae wtf. — ⚡︎ (@blindingliqhts) April 15, 2025 Twitter: @blindingliqhts Tate McRae… you can take the girl out of Alberta but you can't take the Alberta out of the girl smfh! — _ (@yaac43ffy) April 15, 2025 Twitter: @yaac43ffy I guess we'll just have to see for certain when the song actually comes out, but one thing's for certain: the entire situation is extremely uncomfy. You can't see me, but I'm squirming as we speak.
