Sam Raimi's Spider-Man Trilogy Starring Tobey Maguire Returns To Theatres With New Footage

Last Updated: Starting September 26, all three Spider-Man movies by Sam Raimi are scheduled for a re-release with newly added footage. The original Spider-Man movie by Sam Raimi remains a fan favourite. Now, Fathom Entertainment is bringing back those original films for fans to relive the nostalgia on the big screen. Starting September 26, all three movies are scheduled for a re-release. The exciting news doesn't stop there, as the second movie will be shown in a new extended version called Spider-Man 2.1, which was never before seen in theatres. The new edition has sharper 4K picture quality and includes extra scenes that'll provide a deeper look into Peter Parker's challenges. According to Variety, the special screenings will start on September 26 with Spider-Man, followed by Spider-Man 2.1 on September 27, and Spider-Man 3 on September 28. Fans will get another chance to watch the trilogy next weekend, on October 3, 4 and 5. Tickets for both screenings will go on sale from July 25. Ray Nutt, chief executive officer of Fathom Entertainment, said, 'The success of Spider-Man in 2002 helped launch the modern era of superhero films. To this day, Tobey Maguire's take on Spider-Man resonates across generations. At Fathom Entertainment, we celebrate fandom and I am delighted that Spider-Man 2.1 in 4K will make its theatrical debut, a true gift for longtime fans and a thrilling discovery for new ones." Tobey Maguire, who played Spider-Man in Sam Raimi's trilogy, reprised the role in Tom Holland led Spider-Man: No Way Home alongside Andrew Garfield, from The Amazing Spider-Man. Now, there are rumours that Tobey might appear again in upcoming films like Avengers: Doomsday or Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Interestingly, the Marvel trilogy joined Fathom Entertainment's list of special re-releases of fan favourite classics like Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Clueless, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Sunset Boulevard, The Sound of Music and Rocky IV. Other than Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker, the original Spider-Man films also featured Kirsten Dunst as Mary Jane Watson and James Franco as Harry Osborn. The trilogy included many well known villains, such as Willem Dafoe as Green Goblin, Alfred Molina played Doc Ock and Thomas Haden Church stepped into the shoes of Sandman. First Published:
