2025 CR-V Hybrid Deals Are Looking Better by the Day

The Honda CR‑V is one of the most popular vehicles in the US, ranking in the five best-selling models in 2024. There are several reasons for its appeal, primarily because it combines practicality, fuel efficiency, and a solid reputation for dependability. The hybrid variant, in particular, gained traction as more buyers look for electrified options without making the jump to full EVs. Now that the 2026 model is available to order, buyers will see updated features and an expanded hybrid lineup. But these come with higher starting prices. The base LX begins at $32,315 (excluding destination charges), while the hybrid trims now range from $37,025 for the Sport to $43,645 for the Sport Touring. The price increase puts the 2026 CR‑V Hybrid lineup noticeably above the outgoing models, many of which are still available as dealer inventory. As a result, 2025 CR‑V Hybrid models, particularly the entry-level trims, are starting to look like better value propositions. Searching inventory through shows that several 2025 CR‑V Hybrid trims are available with dealer discounts, especially the Sport and Sport-L variants. The front-wheel-drive Sport is listed around $34,650, and the AWD version is going for roughly $36,150. Moving up, Sport-L FWD units are priced near $37,650, while AWD versions hover around $39,150. However, pricing for the top-tier 2025 Sport Touring Hybrid tells a different story. Rather than being discounted, many listings show markups pushing prices above $45,000 – more than the starting MSRP for the 2026 equivalent. This limits the value appeal of the fully loaded model and narrows the real savings opportunity to the lower trims. For buyers aiming to get the best deal, the 2025 CR‑V Hybrid Sport offers the most consistent value and availability at under $35,000. Buyers opting for a 2025 model will miss out on a few updates introduced with the 2026 refresh. These include a larger 9-inch touchscreen as standard, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto across all trims, and a 10.2-inch display on the higher trims. The Sport Touring trim now includes native Google services like Assistant, Maps, and Play. Visually, there's not much of a difference between the new version and the inventory units. There's also a new, off-road-oriented TrailSport trim that brings some visual differentiation, as well as upgrades like a standard all-wheel drive and an improved traction control system. However, it does not feature off-road-specific tuning or suspension hardware, limiting its impact beyond aesthetics and traction software. While 2026 models carry more tech and minor upgrades, the 2025 CR‑V Hybrid, especially in Sport trim, still delivers strong value, familiar performance, and modern features without the steeper price. If you're in the market for a hybrid SUV right now, make sure to shop around and don't ignore the inventory units while they still last. Copyright 2025 The Arena Group, Inc. All Rights Reserved.

5 of the Best Base Trim Vehicles in 2025

Don't call these models 'barebones' There's a lot of pressure to get the most expensive trim level due to FOMO. That shouldn't force you into getting more than you need, and while top-tier trims get all the headlines with panoramic sunroofs, massaging seats, and 20-inch wheels, most car buyers don't need all of those unnecessary features. Whether it's due to budget constraints, a preference for simplicity, or just smart shopping, base trims often provide more today than ever before. Modern base trims come packed with safety tech, infotainment, and style that rival mid-range trims from just a few years ago. Here are five of the best base trim vehicles for 2025 that prove you don't have to pay more to get a lot. 2026 Honda Civic LX 2025 Honda Civic Sedan Sport Touring Hybrid — Source: Honda The current generation of the Honda Civic might just be its best, and that's true even in base LX trim ($24,595 MSRP). The venerable Civic continues the model's long-standing tradition of blending value, comfort, and dependability. It's powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 150 horsepower, paired with a CVT. The exterior and interior are smartly designed, featuring more conservatively styled yet attractive sheet metal, combined with an ergonomically excellent cabin that showcases some of the best physical controls in the segment. 2022 Honda Civic Sedan Touring — Source: Honda Even if you don't add a single option to the LX, it comes standard with a ton of equipment, including 16-inch alloy wheels, full LED headlights, automatic climate control, a 7-inch color touchscreen with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and pushbutton start, Honda's full 'Sensing' safety suite, makes the Civic feel like a tremendous safety value. It comes with automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning with lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, lane departure warning, a rearview camera with dynamic guidelines, and traffic sign recognition, making the LX a well-rounded and smart buy in the compact car segment. The Genesis GV70 offers real value in a segment where prices can climb quickly. In base 2.5T AWD trim ($47,985), the GV70 redefines what base-trim luxury can be. Under the hood is a potent 300-hp turbocharged 2.5‑liter four‑cylinder engine mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. In terms of exterior styling, the GV70 sports one of the most original looks in the segment with eye-catching two-line parallel headlights and taillights, a more intricate lattice grille, and new wheel styles. The GV70 now has a beautiful 27-inch dash-mounted OLED screen setup that incorporates the instrument cluster and infotainment for a seamless experience. It also comes standard with 19-inch alloy wheels, automatic high beams, heated outside mirrors, Genesis Connected Services, fingerprint authentication that allows you to start the car without a key, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and navigation, a wireless charging pad, and a hands-free power liftgate, LED lighting, heated leatherette seats, and dual-zone climate control. Its safety set includes standard adaptive cruise, lane-keep assist, auto high beams, blind-spot monitoring, forward collision mitigation, and Genesis's Highway Driving Assist. Another boost for the model, even in base trim, is improved sound deadening that makes the GV70 an impressively quiet place to be, even at high speeds. 2026 Toyota Camry LE 2026 Toyota Camry XLE — Source: Toyota The now hybrid-only Camry, which starts around $28,700, is one of the most value-packed automobiles in the industry. The significant refresh brings more refined styling, and even the base LE doesn't scrimp on features. First of all, it has the same powertrain as higher trims, a 2.5-liter hybrid engine that makes a substantial 225 horsepower and even returns an EPA-estimated 51 mpg city and 49 mpg highway. That's Prius-level efficiency in a family sedan with gobs of room, combined with steering and handling that often evade the segment. 2026 Toyota Camry SE — Source: Toyota The Camry LE's list of standard features includes 16-inch alloy wheels, full LED headlights and DRLs, heated power outside mirrors, acoustic front windshield, dual-zone automatic climate control, an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, a tire pressure monitor, plus Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, which includes adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, lane departure alert with steering assist, lane centering, road sign assist, and proactive driving assist. The safety equipment alone is worth the price of entry. The Camry LE proves that going hybrid in base form doesn't mean sacrificing performance or features. The Camry is also an IIHS Top Safety Pick+. 2025 Hyundai Tucson SE 2025 Hyundai Tucson — Source: Hyundai This list wouldn't be complete without a Hyundai model. The brand is known for jamming tons of standard features into every trim level, and that includes the Tucson SE, priced at $28,705. The fourth-generation provides one of the strongest value propositions in the compact SUV segment, and it's even more appealing with a new 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen incorporated within a larger dash-mounted display with new analog gauges. The SE is powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine making 187 horsepower, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. 2025 Hyundai Tucson — Source: Hyundai Standard equipment on the SE includes 17-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights and DRLs, automatic headlights with high beam assist, a rear spoiler, acoustic front glass, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a rear occupant alert, and advanced safety features like forward collision-avoidance assist, lane keeping assist, and driver attention warning. The Tucson also offers a spacious interior with a class-leading 41.3 inches of rear legroom and a sizable cargo area of 80.3 cubic feet with the seats folded flat, making it a smart and practical pick for small families or anyone wanting crossover utility without climbing the trim ladder. With bold styling and Hyundai's excellent warranty, the Tucson SE punches well above its price point. Learn more here. 2025 Mazda3 2.5 S Hatchback 2025 Mazda3 2.5 S Hatchback — Source: Mazda The Mazda3 might seem long-in-the-tooth on paper (it's now in the 7th year of its 4th generation), but it still delivers arguably the most premium experience among base trims. Even the 2.5 S trim level, at a starting price of $24,170, is impressively outfitted. First of all, the style quotient is high with its curvaceous body that exudes premium. The 2.5 S comes with a 191 horsepower 2.5-liter engine that can be mated to either a 6-speed manual with front wheel drive or a 6-speed automatic transmission with front- or all-wheel drive, the latter of which is uncommon for base hatchbacks. Inside, the Mazda3 has a near-luxury feel, with high-quality materials and elegant design throughout the cabin. 2025 Mazda3 2.5 S Hatchback — Source: Mazda Standard features include 16-inch alloy wheels, heated power side mirrors, LED headlights and DRLs, automatic headlights, black body trim, pushbutton start, voice control, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, an 8.8-inch color infotainment display, while safety features include automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, lane departure warning, automatic high beam control, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control. The Mazda3 also excels dynamically, offering responsive steering and confident handling that enthusiasts will appreciate even in the base model. It's a tremendous value in base form, and everyone will think you paid more than you did. Final thoughts Across the board, these five vehicles show that base trims no longer equate to boring, stripped-down transportation. In 2025, smart buyers can get high-end tech, advanced safety, solid performance, and thoughtful design right from the entry-level offerings. Whether you're looking for efficiency, utility, or a dose of driving excitement, every one of these base models proves that you don't have to spend more to get a great vehicle About the Author Amos Kwon View Profile

2026 Buick Envision Review, Pricing, and Specs

Overview Buick's compact Envision SUV aims for big names in the luxury crossover space but doesn't quite reach their level. Instead of a full-on luxury experience, it and other Buicks provide more of a half-step between, say, a Chevy and a Cadillac. This is at least reflected in its price, which is a good chunk lower than those of its supposed competitors, including the Audi Q5, BMW X3, Cadillac XT5, Lincoln Corsair, and Mercedes-Benz GLC-class. The Envision is certainly handsome and, in typical Buick fashion, the ride is comfortable, and leather upholstery comes standard. But the other materials aren't what we'd expect of a luxury automaker, and it feels down on power. What's New for 2026? Very little changes for the Envision this year. The most noticeable differences are in the color palette, which loses three hues—Calypso Blue Metallic, Smokey Amethyst Metallic, and White Frost Tricoat—while two new ones have been added. Quartz Blue Metallic is newly available across the range, while Midnight Opal is exclusive to the Avenir model. Pricing and Which One to Buy The price of the 2026 Buick Envision is expected to start around $38,000 and go up to $48,000 depending on the trim and options. Preferred $38,000 (est) Sport Touring $41,000 (est) Avenir $48,000 (est) 0 $10k $20k $30k $40k $50k $60k $70k $80k While the Buick Envision Avenir is indulgent in terms of features, its price premium leads us to choose the Sport Touring model, which adds a fair number of standard goodies, such as blackout exterior trim, without going overboard. We recommend adding the Comfort and Convenience Package, which includes a heated steering wheel, heated driver and front passenger seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, an air quality indicator, automatic air recirculation, a universal home remote, and a hands-free power liftgate. Engine, Transmission, and Performance All Envisions come with the same engine: a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder rated at 228 horsepower. A nine-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive are both standard. The Envision is down on power compared to its competition and, as a result, its acceleration trails theirs. There is a Sport driving mode, but even with it engaged performance remains unexciting. Nonetheless, as you might expect from a Buick, the Envision's priority is ride comfort, not driver engagement. On that note, the Envision doesn't disappoint. This is one relaxed cruiser. 0–60-MPH Times When we put the Envision through its paces at our test track, the Buick delivered an uninspired 7.3-second 60-mph run. Still, its on-road performance should suit the majority of buyers. View Photos Buick Fuel Economy and Real-World MPG The EPA hasn't released the 2026 Envision's fuel economy estimates yet, but the 2025 model was rated for 22 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway. When we get a chance to put the new Envision through our 75-mph highway fuel economy route, we'll update this story with results. For more information about the Envision's fuel economy, visit the EPA's website. Interior, Comfort, and Cargo Despite its price tag, you'll find that many of the Envision's luxury features are optional, even on the mid-level Sport Touring model—except for leather seating, which is standard. Interior ambiance is merely average, not awesome, although the instrument panel design is contemporary and sports a massive 30-inch display with a mid-century modern shape that's quite fetching. The interior is spacious for a compact SUV but doesn't feel at all luxurious unless you go for the Avenir trim. Even then, the Envision doesn't come across as upscale as its German competition. But the Avenir does offer frills such as quilted leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, and a massaging driver's seat. And, as an SUV, the Envision is undeniably practical. In our testing, this compact Buick was able to fit 21 carry-on suitcases inside with its rear seats folded flat. View Photos Buick Infotainment and Connectivity When it comes to connectivity, the Envision doesn't disenchant. All models come with a head-up display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a Wi-Fi hotspot, SiriusXM satellite radio, in-dash navigation, a nine-speaker Bose stereo, four USB ports, and active noise-cancellation. But the main attraction is its large 30-inch display, which houses both the driver's instrument cluster and the infotainment system. Safety and Driver-Assistance Features Buick offers plenty of driver-assistance features as standard on the Envision, including an adaptive cruise control system with a lane-centering feature, automatic high-beam headlamps, and a 360-degree exterior camera system. For more information about the Envision's crash test results, visit the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) websites. Key safety features include: Standard automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection Standard lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist Standard adaptive cruise control with a lane-centering feature Warranty and Maintenance Coverage Buick's standard warranty package matches what many of its rivals offer, but the Envision's included single service visit pales in comparison with the plans of the BMW X3 and the Jaguar F-Pace, both of which provide far lengthier terms for complimentary scheduled maintenance. 2026 Buick Envista Review, Pricing, and Specs

Overview The Buick Envista brings a sporty and youthful vibe to a brand in dire need of a pick-me-up. Undercutting its Encore GX sibling in price, the Envista subcompact SUV features a sleek fastback profile, an attractive if function-forward interior, and a livelier driving demeanor despite being front-wheel drive only. Performance is average, however, as its turbocharged 1.2-liter three-cylinder is good for just 137 horsepower. But the Envista is efficient, and it uses a traditional six-speed automatic transmission, which we prefer over a CVT. Inside, there's room for five if the folks in back are friendly. The Envista comes well-equipped with a standard 11-inch infotainment screen and wireless smartphone connectivity, making for a satisfying package. What's New for 2026? The 2026 Envista gets a little love with the availability of a new Brilliant Red exterior paint option, which is available on the Preferred and Sport Touring trims. To make room, the Cinnabar Metallic finish has left the building. Also removed from the order book are the cargo organizer, the premium carpeted floor mats, and the highway safety kit. Pricing and Which One to Buy The price of the 2026 Buick Envista is expected to start around $26,000 and go up to $31,500 depending on the trim and options. Preferred $26,000 (est) Sport Touring $27,000 (est) Avenir $31,500 (est) 0 $10k $20k $30k $40k $50k The Avenir model comes with attractive, nickel-finished 19-inch wheels (17s and 18s are standard elsewhere in the lineup), a mesh grille, heated front seats and steering wheel, perforated leather seat trim, and other upscale elements that make it look a lot more expensive than its price would suggest, making it our go-to trim. Unfortunately, none of the Envista's trims come with all-wheel drive or a more powerful engine. Engine, Transmission, and Performance All Envistas come with the same engine: a Lilliputian turbocharged 1.2-liter three-cylinder that makes 137 horsepower. All-wheel drive is not available, so all models drive the front wheels through a six-speed automatic transmission. Acceleration feels perky enough for casual, around-town driving, but step on the throttle hard to call up power for highway passing, and the Envista feels more lethargic. It takes a second or two for the turbocharger to spool up and push the Envista ahead in earnest, which feels to the driver like the engine is taking a slow, deep breath before moving ahead with any urgency. But the Envista's vibe isn't about speed or nipping apexes. Instead, it's built for loping along comfortably and quietly. Handling confident and poised, with a well-controlled ride, precise steering, and a firm brake pedal. 0–60-MPH Times At our test track, the Envista needed 9.3 seconds to hit 60 mph. It reaches 50 mph in a more acceptable 6.7 seconds, but after that, the turbocharged three simply runs out of steam. View Photos Michael Simari | Car and Driver Fuel Economy and Real-World MPG The EPA hasn't released any fuel economy information for the 2026 Envista yet, but the 2025 model earned ratings of 28 mpg city, 32 mpg highway, and 30 mpg combined. On our 75-mph highway fuel economy test route, which is an integral part of our extensive testing regimen, the 2025 Envista delivered precisely on its 32-mpg promise. For more information about the Envista's fuel economy, visit the EPA's website. Interior, Comfort, and Cargo Inside, the Envista offers a cabin that's roomy for four, and the chic coupe-like roofline doesn't noticeably cut into rear-seat headroom. Interior materials aren't luxury grade, but compared to rivals such as the Nissan Kicks and the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport, the Buick more than measures up. It also offers plenty of convenience features and desirable tech gadgetry, including a large glass panel on the dashboard that houses both a digital gauge display and an infotainment touchscreen. The top-spec Avenir gets the fanciest interior and rises to near the top of the class in terms of ambiance, but this is no competitor to an Audi, BMW, or Mercedes-Benz. Important for a vehicle where practicality is a given, it can haul 20 cubic feet of gear, 42 cubic feet with the rear seats folded. Payload is rated at 1,088 pounds. View Photos Michael Simari | Car and Driver Infotainment and Connectivity The Envista's dashboard consists of two digital displays, one 8.0-inch unit for the SUV's gauge cluster and a second 11.0-inch one serving as a touchscreen infotainment interface. There is also a separate panel for climate controls below a center-mounted dash vent. The Envista uses Buick's most up-to-date software, and it includes standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and an onboard Wi-Fi hotspot. Safety and Driver-Assistance Features All Envistas come with a comprehensive set of driver-assistance features, including automatic high-beam headlamps and automated emergency braking. More advanced tech is available as an option. For more information about the Envista's crash test results, visit the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) websites. Key safety features include: Standard automated emergency braking Standard lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist Available adaptive cruise control Warranty and Maintenance Coverage Buick's standard warranty package matches that of many of the Envista's key rivals but pales in comparison with the plans of the Hyundai Kona, which provides far lengthier terms as well as three years of complimentary scheduled maintenance. Honda Civic Buyer's Guide: Which Compact Is Right for You?

How do they drive? The base Civic LX and Civic Sport are powered by gas alone; the Sport Hybrid and Sport Touring Hybrid get an electrified powertrain. The LX and Sport have a 2.0-liter inline-four that makes 150 horsepower and 133 lb-ft of torque. It took 9.9 seconds to get the Civic Sport sedan from 0 to 60 mph in our testing, which is super slow by modern standards. Weirdly, though, the Civic doesn't feel mega slow in day-to-day driving, but getting on the highway or passing slower traffic will take a healthy dose of throttle. Hop into the Sport Touring and the experience is completely different. The hybrid system pairs the 2.0-liter engine with two electric motors, and total system output is a healthy 200 hp and 232 lb-ft of torque. The difference is noticeable: The Civic Sport Touring hybrid ran from 0 to 60 mph in 6.5 seconds — that's even quicker than the sporty Civic Si, which did the same deed in 7.2 seconds in our testing. Regardless of engine, both Civics have above-average handling characteristics, with crisp steering and a nice ride quality. Honda really knows how to tune a suspension, and the Civic manages to feel solid but comfortable.
