STAGEFEST Thrills One and All at Dalkeith Country Park Edinburgh!
Over 2500 people attended this inclusive and wildly entertaining outdoor performance festival. STAGEFEST was a full day of events, performances, workshops, food and fun for Stagecoach students and their families. 750 local young performers were the VIPs of the day as they took to the stage to perform musical theatre showstoppers in the majestic surroundings of Dalkeith Country Park. A diverse array of numbers were performed across the day and dazzled the delighted audience with medleys from Our House, The Addams Family, Wicked, School of Rock, Hamilton and Jekyll & Hyde plus songs from the movies including The Hunger Games, The Lego Movie, Minions, 101 Dalmatians, The Greatest Showman, The Little Mermaid, Deadpool and Mary Poppins. Stagecoach Edinburgh's Principal Tina Strong was blown away by the success of the whole event: 'Bringing a community together like this to celebrate performance, belonging and creativity is so special. Nothing similar to this happens in Edinburgh and it's such a brilliant experience for the children and their families.' Other highlights of the event included: circus workshops, storytelling, magic, a silent disco, facepainting, traditional game stalls featuring games such as 'Hook a Duck' and 'Guess the Sweets in the Jar!' There was even a bouncy slide, an obstacle course and human table football for all to enjoy! Delicious food from local food trucks helped feed the vast crowds and if people needed a little escape, a quiet area with giant Jenga, giant noughts and crosses and other outdoor games were provided plus relaxing chair massages for adults and kids too! Stagecoach Edinburgh helps build confidence and resilience, offers brilliant opportunities in the community and professionally and helps young people make connections with likeminded classmates who share the similar interests. Powys bus company wins Welsh Gov contract from Stagecoach
A Powys bus company has been awarded a major route by the Welsh Government. Llanidloes-based bus operator Celtic Travel has been awarded a contract to deliver the TrawsCymru T4 service between Merthyr and Newtown from September. The popular route has been operating for 14 years and is well used by commuters, students, residents, and tourists accessing Bannau Brycheiniog, the Royal Welsh Show, and many of the towns and villages along the route. Celtic Travel has been delivering transport services across Powys and the surrounding areas since 2006 and the news was welcomed by Cabinet Secretary for Transport and North Wales Ken Skates. 'It's good to see Celtic Travel join the Traws network and deliver the T4 from September this year,' said Mr Skates. 'This is an important route linking towns and villages in mid Wales.' Phyl Davies, Director of Celtic Travel, said the company's local knowledge would be an asset for running the service. 'We're excited to be taking on this new contract and will be working with our colleagues at Williams of Brecon to ensure we deliver an improved level of service and reliability for T4 customers using our many years of experience delivering coach and bus services to the people of Powys,' said Mr Davies. 'It's great to be part of the TrawsCymru network, and with our knowledge of the local road network and an appreciation of the geography of this area, we feel we can bring a great deal to this service.' The new X4 service will serve Treforest Industrial Estate, offering improved connections to places of work, education, and leisure. 'We're looking forward to working with Celtic Travel to provide this service. We will be developing the timetable and improving services where we can, including the introduction of new vehicles in March next year,' added Lee Robinson, Executive Director for Regional Transport and Integration at TfW. 'This is a fantastic example of how small and medium-sized operators can work in partnership to bid for tenders and take on new contracts.'

Anger as Stagecoach X52 Dunfermline to Edinburgh service cut
The X52, which connects travellers to the capital, will be withdrawn by Stagecoach in August, as part of sweeping reductions, prompting criticism from Councillor James Calder. He said: 'The X52 is a key service that helps connect those in Dunfermline, including within Duloch, to Edinburgh. "Its removal is counterproductive, particularly as we are trying to encourage more people to use public transport rather than cars. This cut will likely lead to increased congestion." A spokesperson for Stagecoach East Scotland said: "These changes are primarily driven by adjustments to school transport contracts within Fife, as well as ongoing challenges caused by congestion, roadworks and low usage affecting certain journeys and services. "We are proposing to remove service X52 due to continued low usage, however links between Duloch Park and Ferrytoll P&R will be maintained by service 5, allowing onward travel to Edinburgh, with buses departing the park and ride site up to every 5 minutes into Edinburgh during peak times. Service X55 will also continue to provide a frequent service, up to every 20 minutes, between Dunfermline and Edinburgh. "We understand that changes to local bus services can be disruptive, and we are committed to working with local authorities and communities to ensure that travel needs continue to be met wherever possible. Customers can plan their journey and see all available travel options, as well as track live bus times and buy tickets on the Stagecoach app."

Free Stagecoach South Wales bus travel for Armed Forces
This includes all local bus services from Friday, June 27, to Sunday, June 29. The initiative allows members of the Armed Forces community to travel at no cost to parades, ceremonies, and community events in Wales. To access the free travel, serving military personnel simply need to wear their uniform or show a valid military ID. Veterans can present either a veterans' badge or a military medal. This gesture is part of Stagecoach's ongoing commitment to recognising and supporting the Armed Forces. Stagecoach South Wales's managing director Martin Gibbon said: "We're incredibly proud to support Armed Forces Day and recognise the important contributions of those who serve and have served. "Providing free travel across South Wales is a small gesture to show our appreciation and help people attend local events to honour the Armed Forces community. "We're also committed to being a supportive and inclusive employer for veterans and service families." The company also provides free travel on Remembrance Day and Remembrance Sunday each year, in honour of those who have served. Stagecoach is a signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant and continues to expand its internal Veterans Network. This colleague-led group provides support for service leavers, veterans, reservists, and military families within the business. Stagecoach's initiative is part of a broader nationwide commitment to the Armed Forces community. For information on local services and timetables, visit the Stagecoach website.
