Starbucks' New Menu Item Is 'Summer Vacation In a Cup'
Starbucks has been busy. The coffee chain recently announced the return of its popular raspberry syrup this month, and now, a new menu offering is coming around the block for the impending holiday. Starbucks is launching a new Firework Frappuccino Blended Beverage for the Fourth of July — but it's only available for a limited-time. According to the company's press release, the drink consists of the "delicious berry flavors of Starbucks' Summer-Berry Refresher blended with coconut milk and poured over juicy raspberry-flavored pearls." The Summer-Berry Refresher features a blend of raspberry, blueberry, and blackberry flavors, is shaken with ice, then poured over raspberry-flavored pearls, per Starbucks' website. The Frappuccino will additionally be topped with a "bold red" strawberry purée and vanilla sweet cream cold foam for a "silky finish.""This is a summer vacation in a cup," Amanda Conaway, Product Manager at Starbucks said. "From the popping pearls to the creamy vanilla sweet cream, it's a vibrant, textured beverage inspired by the sights and sounds of summer." The press release further described the taste of the drink as "tangy-sweet." The drink will be available in Starbucks' cafes across the United States from July 1 to July 7, while supplies last. It's unclear how much the drink will cost, but we'd predict anywhere between $6 and $8 based on the current prices for Frappuccino's. RELATED: The Firework Frappuccino had been previously revealed in Starbucks' summer drink lineup, in addition to the Salted Caramel Mocha Strato Frappuccino, Strawberry Matcha Strato Frappuccino, and Brown Sugar Strato Frappuccino. None have been made available on the brand's website yet. Baristas have already taken to TikTok to address concerns that the drink will take a significant amount of time to whip up, with one employee writing, "I feel that it's going to take me at least a minute to complete this Frappuccino." This beverage news comes after Starbucks dropped a major policy change, requiring customers to pay a flat fee of 80 cents for any combinations of syrups and sauces in its drinks (no matter how many pumps you order). It's been confirmed that the classic syrup will continue to be added without an additional New Menu Item Is 'Summer Vacation In a Cup' first appeared on Men's Journal on Jun 30, 2025

However, there's a chance you might be craving some fast food on Friday, and you'll want to know which restaurants open their doors. Why It Matters Many businesses close on July Fourth to give employees the day off with their friends and family—but some restaurants remain open to meet the higher demand for food. Here's a list, including hours of operation, if a craving strikes for your favorite fast-food chain. A Starbucks Coffee shop is pictured on May 20 in Chongqing, China. A Starbucks Coffee shop is pictured on May 20 in Chongqing, To Know Fourth of July Hours: Starbucks Coffee lovers will likely be happy to know that Starbucks operates on its regular schedule at most locations. Some select stores may have modified hours though, so it may be best to call ahead. Chick-fil-A While Chick-fil-A closes every Sunday, the fried chicken chain will be open for business on the Fourth of July. Dunkin' Dunkin' will also be around to serve customers' caffeine and doughnut needs, as the chain remains open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Chipotle Chipotle remains one of America's favorite fast casual restaurants for burritos and burrito bowls alike. You will still be able to get Chipotle for lunch. However, the chain closes early, at 3 p.m., on the Fourth of July. McDonald's Sometimes, nothing feels more American than a McDonald's cheeseburger. Wendy's Similar to competitor McDonald's, Wendy's will be open on the Fourth of July. Hours may vary by location, so it pays to call ahead. However, observing Independence Day only became commonplace after the War of 1812." What Happens Next Restaurants will reopen at normal hours on Saturday. The next federal holiday is Labor Day, which falls on September 1.

Plans approved for new Aldi and Starbucks in Port Talbot
Long-term proposals to build a new Aldi and Starbucks Coffee shop on a vacant site in Aberavon have been approved by the local council. The development will take place on a plot of land known as Burrows Yard, a brownfield site near Port Talbot town centre between Afan Way, Water Street, and Isaac's Place. The plans for the residential area have been in the works since 2022, and were given the go-ahead by councillors at a planning committee meeting held in June 2025. They are now expected to transform the currently empty 12,135 square metre plot of land which has been described as being an eyesore by locals in recent years. The land was previously used in historical industry as the site of a former 19th century tin plate works, as well as more recently as a council yard and a petrol station. The application read: "The proposal seeks full planning permission to build a single-storey Aldi food store and a Starbucks A3 café unit with associated drive-thru, including customer parking and a service yard." The scheme will include 141 parking spaces once completed with eight for disabled users, nine for parents with children, and seven bicycle hoops for up to 11 bikes. It will also feature 18 electric vehicle charging points along with a new pedestrian access off Afan Way and a cycling route. A representative speaking on behalf of the applicant said the plans had received a largely positive response from the public during the consultation period, with the report noting 317 representations of support in contrast to three objections. They added that the development could also create over 40 jobs for local people, with a mixture of full-time and part-time positions expected. Additional jobs are also anticipated during the construction phase of the project. Local councillors in attendance welcomed the long-awaited plans which had been recommended by officers as they felt it could improve the area which was in need of development. They were later approved by members with conditions following a unanimous vote. For the latest Neath Port Talbot news sign up to our newsletter here.

200 New ZUS Coffee Outlets Set To Open Across Southeast Asia By End Of The Year
ZUS Coffee is growing bigger by the second! The local coffee chain brand has recently announced a massive 200-store expansion across Southeast Asia, thus cementing itself as the biggest coffee chain in Malaysia. Coffee shop operator Zuspresso Sdn, the company behind ZUS Coffee, plans to add at least 107 new outlets in Malaysia this year. Chief Operating Officer Venon Tian said the company also has plans to open around 80 new stores in the Philippines and 6 new stores in Singapore. In addition, Zuspresso is also looking to expand to Thailand and Indonesia, with plans to open its first store in those two countries within the year. If you're wondering, ZUS Coffee is now open in Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Brunei. This new expansion plan comes after the company surpassed its competitor, Starbucks Coffee, to become Malaysia's largest coffee chain. ZUS Coffee currently operates 743 stores domestically, while Starbucks Coffee only operates 320. Internationally, ZUS has 120 stores in the Philippines, 4 in Singapore and 1 in Brunei. ZUS Coffee's success is also rather fast, given that the company launched its first store in November 2019. The brand also saw a significant jump in popularity in recent years, thanks to more Malaysians supporting local brands while boycotting foreign brands, including Starbucks Coffee. The latter, especially, has been facing hardships due to its alleged ties to Israel, and customers have been lamenting about its prices. Venom said ZUS Coffee's success is partly due to its menu of tailor-made flavours appealing to local tastes in each market, like palm sugar-flavoured drinks in Malaysia and purple yam-flavoured coffee in the Philippines. The company also gained traction for its promotional campaigns, including the recent capybara-theme Brownie Series. ZUS Coffee also has a merchandise line with products like bottles and plushies. With its creative marketing and delicious menu, it's no surprise that ZUS Coffee is ahead of the game. We can't wait to see what the future holds for this local brand!
