Every year, we do Summer Scouting to preview college football for Vikings fans, but also give them an idea of names to follow and watch in the fall as needs pop up for Minnesota. Are we going to write about quarterbacks? You know it, but why? Because other NFL teams will draft them, just as they will draft every other position. It all matters whether these players end up on the Vikings, the Bears, or the Steelers. We write these so Vikings fans can be the most informed fans. Player Background - 3-Star Recruit - Second Place in State Championship in the Long Jump in High School - Led his Basketball Team to Two State Championships - First-Team All-ACC in 2024 Career Stats Heading into the 2025 Season - 164 Tackles - 13 Tackles for a Loss - 1.5 Sacks - 5 Interceptions - 21 Pass Breakups Notable PFF Numbers Heading into the 2025 Season - 71.9 PFF Run Defense Grade - 77.3 PFF Pass Defense Grade - 82 NFL QBR When Targeted - Called for 8 Penalties Player Traits - Good tackling technique in space - Excellent burst/speed cutting on routes - Closing speed to force turnovers or break up passes - Physical in coverage and tackling - Has an excellent all-around game Player Summary Chandler Rivers is a fun cornerback prospect who plays Manny Diaz's system perfectly. Rivers thrives in being able to provide support in both the run and pass game. He can be physical in man coverage, and lax just enough to create a false sense of security in zone before jumping routes and breaking up passes or forcing interceptions. What impressed me the most was his technique both in coverage and tackling ball carriers. All in all, Rivers should be considered among the best cornerbacks in this class and deserves all your attention this fall.

When wrestlers reunite: Mohanlal reconnects with old friends after 50 years
(Picture Courtesy: Facebook) Malayalam cinema's beloved icon Mohanlal met two of his old wrestling buddies—VN Prasood and P Krishnakumar nearly 50 years after they trained and competed together on wrestling mats. As reported by Kerala Kaumudi, The trio first crossed paths in 1975, when a young Mohanlal joined MG College, Thiruvananthapuram, for his pre-degree. Prasood later shifted to Chembazhanthi SN College. The three became inseparable in the wrestling circuit, sweating it out at Veera Kerala Gymkhana and Central Stadium, Vanchiyoor. A champion before cinema Long before Mohanlal earned fame on the silver screen, he was already making waves as a wrestler, competing in the 74 kg category. He not only clinched the title of wrestling champion at MG College but also went on to win medals at both the Inter-University Championship and the State Championship held in Kannur. Meeting again today in a private room at Mohanlal's hotel in Thiruvananthapuram, the three friends shared laughter, memories, and unspoken gratitude for the sport that brought them together and shaped their journeys in different yet remarkable ways. Multiple State Champs crowned in Saturday's VHSL title games
RICHMOND, Va (WAVY) — Four area teams walked away State Champions on Saturday after earning VHSL gold in their respective sports. Ocean Lakes Baseball captured its first State Championship in program history when it knocked off Beach-rival Cox in a 2-1 extra-innings thriller. NYSPHSAA Softball Championships to be held this weekend in Broome County
BROOME COUNTY, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH)- Broome County is hosting the annual New York State Softball Championship. On June 13 and 14, Broome County will host athletes and fans from the state as the NYSPHSAA Softball Tournament commences at Greenlight Networks Grand Slam Park. Top local teams from around the state such as Deposit-Hancock (Class C), and Maine-Endwell (Class A) will compete in the tournament for state titles. As part of a multi-year agreement, Broome County will continue to host this event up until 2027. 'This weekend is a great opportunity to showcase everything Broome County has to offer,' said Broome County Executive Jason Garnar. 'Not only do we have the top players coming to play at our state-of-the-art complex, but we're also welcoming families from across New York to enjoy our restaurants, hotels, parks, and small businesses.
