Lava has recently launched its two new mobile phones, the Storm Play and the Storm Lite 5G, under the sub- ₹10,000 price segment. Both models come equipped with MediaTek Dimensity chipsets and offer support for 5G networks. The Storm Play runs on the Dimensity 7050 processor, while the Storm Lite 5G is powered by the Dimensity 6300 platform, and now it is available for purchase. Let's have a look. The Lava Storm Lite 5G is now available for purchase in India. The device is being sold exclusively on Amazon. At launch, the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant is priced at ₹7,999. This pricing places it among the more affordable 5G smartphones in the Indian market. For photography, the device packs a 50MP primary rear camera with the Sony IMX752 sensor and a 2MP ultra-wide-angle lens. The device also has a 5MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. Lava claims that this is the first phone in India to use this chip. The company also shared that the processor scored over 400,000 on the Antutu benchmarking platform, indicating basic multitasking and app usage performance for daily needs. Additionally, the device includes support for all 5G bands used in India, which enables the device to connect to networks across different regions. The handset runs on Android 14 and is set to receive one major Android upgrade, along with two years of security patches. Meanwhile, the Storm Lite enters the market as the first Indian smartphone under ₹ 8,000 to use the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 chipset. It offers a 6.75-inch HD+ screen, a 50MP Sony IMX752 rear camera, and a 5MP front shooter. The phone scores over 410,000 on AnTuTu and is aimed at users requiring dependable performance for daily tasks. Available with either 64GB or 128GB storage options and 4GB RAM (expandable by another 4GB virtually), the Storm Lite runs Android 15, supports 15W Type-C charging, and features a 5000mAh battery. Like the Storm Play, it includes a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and an IP64 rating for resistance against dust and water. NEW DELHI: Homegrown handset maker Lava on Friday expanded its budget 5G smartphone line-up with the launch of the Storm Lite and Storm Play , carrying an offer price of ₹7,999 and ₹9,999, respectively. The Storm Lite comes with 4GB RAM, extendable by another 4GB virtually, in two storage options: 64GB or 128GB, while the Storm Play comes with 6GB RAM (extendable by 6GB virtually) paired with 128GB memory. The Storm Play and the Storm Lite are powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 and the MediaTek Dimensity 7060 chipset, respectively. Both smartphones feature a 6.75-inch HD+ notch display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The vanilla model comes with a 50MP Sony IMX752 primary sensor at the back and a 5MP front camera. The Storm Lite, on the other hand, has a 50MP Sony IMX752 primary sensor paired with a 2MP unit, and an 8MP camera at the front. Both smartphones run on a large 5000mAh battery, with support for USB Type-C wired charging. The devices come with Android 15 OS, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and are IP64 rated for dust and water resistance. Both Storm Play and Storm Lite will receive one Android upgrade and two years of security updates. The Storm Play offers enhanced specifications with 6GB+6GB RAM, 128GB storage, dual 50MP+2MP rear cameras, 8MP front camera, and 18W fast charging. The Storm Lite provides 4GB+4GB RAM, 64GB/128GB storage options, single 50MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, and 15W charging. The 50MP sensors on both the phones are an IMX752 sensors.
