Meanwhile, rest of states are on yellow alert except for Rajasthan."Extremely heavy rainfall (≥21 cm) very likely at isolated places over Kerala and Coastal Karnataka on 20th July." IMD said in its latest weather Kannur and Kasaragod districts are on red alert today, while orange weather warning is in place for Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode and Wayanad IMD has also issued a warning for fishermen in Kerala and Karanataka. 'Squally weather with wind speed 40 - 50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph likely to prevail.'Isolated heavy rainfall is likely in the following regions:Delhi and the Nataional Capital Region will also see increased rainfall in the upcoming week. However, no rainfall alert is in place for the national capital for Sunday, but IMD forecasted, 'Partly cloudy sky. Very light rain.'

IMD issues RED ALERT for Kerala, predicts heavy rains till July 24; 9 states on orange alert — weather forecast here
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasted extremely heavy rainfall in Kerala on July 19 and issued a red alert warning for the state. Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragode districts are on red alert today for heavy rains. In addition to red alert for Kerala, an orange alert is in place for Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Assam, Sikkim, Meghalaya, West Bengal, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. "Extremely heavy rainfall (≥21 cm) very likely at isolated places over Uttarakhand on 20th & 21st July," weather bulletin dated July 18 states. In Delhi-NCR, the skies will remain 'partly cloudy' with 'very light to light rain.' Downpours over the past few days have brought down the temperatures in the national capital as 'the minimum temperature will be below normal up to 2 to 3°C.' On July 18, incessant rainfall in Rajasthan's Rajsamand district caused flooding in the Kumbhalgarh area, ANI reported. Excessive rain on Friday disrupted day to day life of residents of the state. Amid heavy rainfall at several regions across India during this monsoon season, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued weather warnings for several states. Predicting extremely heavy rainfall in Rajasthan, Karnataka and Kerala today, July 18, the weather department issued red alert for these states. Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu, West Uttar Pradesh and West Madhya Pradesh are on orange alert. IMD in its latest weather bulletin stated, 'Extremely heavy rainfall (≥21 cm) very likely at isolated places over Rajasthan on 18th July…over Kerala on 19th & 20th; Coastal Karnataka on 17th and South Interior Karnataka on 18th July.' Warning against very heavy rainfall, IMD forecasted heavy showers in Uttarakhand between July 20 and 23, in West Uttar Pradesh on July 18, 20 and 21, and in Himachal Pradesh between July 21 and 23. Besides this, very heavy rainfall is likely in West Madhya Pradesh on July 18 and in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim on July 20. Amid yellow alert for northeastern states, IMD stated, 'Isolated heavy rainfall very likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya, Nagaland & Tripura during 18th-22nd with very heavy rainfall over Meghalaya on 19th July.' Furthermore, heavy precipitation will most likely hit Goa until July 23 and Ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra between July 20 and 23. The national capital can brace for 'light to moderate rain" today accompanied by generally cloudy sky, thunderstorm and lightning. The minimum and maximum temperature today will be 1 to 2 notches below normal. No weather alert for heavy rain is in place for Delhi-NCR today, neither for coming 4-5 days but wet spells will continue till June 23.

Widespread rain likely across India till July 17; Delhi-NCR hit by waterlogging, traffic jams
Intermittent rainfall is expected across large parts of the country till July 17, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting heavy to very heavy showers in several regions, including the National Capital Region (NCR). The NCR is witnessing waterlogging and traffic disruptions at several places due to the rains, which have already affected daily life. In Delhi-NCR, rain is likely to continue throughout the week, with spells of strong sunlight causing humidity and discomfort. However, no official weather alert has been issued yet for the Delhi-NCR, but the IMD has warned of persistent rain and thunderstorms. Temperatures are expected to range between 23 and 36 degrees Celsius, while humidity may hover between 60 per cent and 95 per cent. Waterlogging has been reported from several parts of Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, and Gurugram, leading to long traffic jams and vehicle breakdowns in inundated areas. Major roads, underpasses, and residential colonies remain affected. According to the IMD, heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely over Central and Northwest India, particularly East Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, and both western and eastern Uttar Pradesh till July 17. The IMD said isolated heavy rain is expected over Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Bihar, Odisha, and West Bengal (both Gangetic and Sub-Himalayan regions) in eastern and central India. On July 13, isolated heavy rainfall is likely in parts of Konkan & Goa, Gujarat, Central Maharashtra, and Saurashtra. According to the weather department, light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is forecast to continue over the next seven days in Northeast India. Southern states, including Coastal Karnataka, Kerala, South Interior Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu, are also likely to receive isolated heavy showers during the same period. Fishermen have been advised to avoid venturing into the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal till July 16.

Heavy rainfall, 7 to 11 cm, is also very likely over Paschim Bardhaman, Purba Medinipur, South 24 Parganas and Bankura districts, it likely formation of a low-pressure area over Gangetic West Bengal and a strong monsoon flow will bring heavy to very heavy rainfall in these districts, it parts of the sub-Himalayan districts of Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar and Cooch Behar, heavy rainfall is likely till July 10, the IMD in North 24 Parganas district received 102 mm rainfall, the state's highest in 24 hours till 8.30 am on places that received significant rainfall during the period include Kalyani (42 mm), Barrackpore (32 mm), Kalaikunda (32 mm) and Raiganj (31 mm).
