KUALA LUMPUR, July 23 — Police arrested one of the four individuals suspected to be involved in the abduction of a man using a lorry following an altercation along Jalan Persiaran Puchong Permai, near here, yesterday. Subang Jaya police chief ACP Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said the 32-year-old male suspect was arrested by the roadside at SS19, Subang Jaya, at 10 pm. 'The suspect, found to have two past criminal records, has been remanded for four days until Saturday (July 26),' he said in a statement today. He said preliminary investigations found that the incident is believed to have occurred due to a debt dispute, adding that police are tracking down three more suspects to assist in investigations under sections 365 and 323 of the Penal Code and Section 43 of the Societies Act 1966 Those with information regarding the incident are urged to contact Investigating Officer Insp G. Chinese national charged with stabbing ex-girlfriend at Malaysian university

A foreign student who allegedly stabbed his ex-girlfriend in the neck on the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur has claimed trial at the sessions court in Shah Alam. Chinese national You Wei, 22, was accused of causing grievous hurt to Wu Jalin, 20, by using a weapon on the second floor of a private university in Subang Jaya at 6.30pm on July 14. According to the charge sheet, You stabbed Wu, also a Chinese national, on the left side of her neck with a knife, which could have caused death. The charge, under Section 326 of the Penal Code, was read out to him in English before judge Norazlin Othman on Monday. If convicted, You faces a jail term of up to 20 years and a fine or caning. Deputy public prosecutor Nurul Sofea Jaysal did not propose any bail for the accused pending an Immigration Department review. His passport is valid until October 31, 2026. In mitigation, You's counsel Revin Kumar said his client had a mental health condition.

(Bernama pic) PETALING JAYA : A police raid on a private party by college and university students at a bungalow in Subang Jaya early this morning saw the arrests of four drug dealers. Subang Jaya police chief Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said police checked 38 people – 25 Malaysians and 13 foreigners – in the 12.30am raid. 'The majority of them were between 18 and 27 years old and were college and university students,' Kosmo reported him as saying. He said police arrested four men between 21 and 25 years, all Malaysians, for suspected involvement in drug distribution. 'Also seized were 6.5g of marijuana and 1.7g of ketamine,' he said. Wan Azlan said all those arrested were brought to the Subang Jaya police headquarters for urine tests, and 12 of them – nine Malaysians and three foreigners – tested positive for drug use. 'They have all been detained for further investigation,' he said.

KUALA LUMPUR, July 21 — Police arrested 38 individuals, including private college students and foreigners, at a private party at a luxury residence in Subang Jaya at just after midnight. Subang Jaya district police chief ACP Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said 6.5 grams (g) of cannabis and 1.7 g of ketamine were also seized during the operation at 12.30 am. "Those arrested were from 18 to 27, including 13 foreigners while four, aged 21 to 25, are suspected of being involved in drug trafficking,' he said in a statement here today, adding that 12 suspects, nine locals and three foreigners, tested positive for drugs. The 12 were detained for further investigation while the rest were released, he added. — Bernama

SHAH ALAM, July 16 — Police are still waiting to record a statement from the university student who was stabbed by her ex-boyfriend from China yesterday, said Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan. He said the victim, who was stabbed in a private university in Subang Jaya, is currently receiving medical treatment and is not yet fit to be interviewed. "The victim, who was stabbed on the left side of her neck, just underwent successful surgery so once she is in good shape we will record her statement,' he said today. Hussein Omar also said that police have not ruled out the possibility of a love triangle as a motive in the case. "We can't confirm if it's a love triangle, but it appears the relationship ended, and there may have been emotional motivations behind the attack,' Hussein said. "Investigations are ongoing and the suspect is remanded until the 18th. We could extend it,' he added. Police arrested the 21-year-old foreign man for allegedly attacking his 20-year-old ex-girlfriend with a knife the university yesterday. Investigations revealed that the victim, who is also a foreign national, suffered slash wounds to the left side of her neck. She was taken to the emergency department at Universiti Malaya Medical Centre (PPUM), where she was placed in the red zone for treatment. The suspect is the victim's former boyfriend, and the motive behind the incident is still under investigation. The case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means. If convicted, the offence carries a penalty of up to 10 years in jail, or a fine, or whipping, or any combination of the three.
