Telangana: BJP's NV Subhash demands probe into Sangareddy Chemical factory blast

Telangana (Hyderabad) [India], June 30 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson NV Subhash on Monday demanded a probe into the blast at the Sigachi Pharma chemical factory in Telangana's Sangareddy district, which killed eight people and left 26 others injured. The incident, which occurred in the Pasamailaram Phase 1 area between 8:15 am and 9:35 am, triggered a massive rescue operation. Officials stated that approximately 150 workers were on shift at the time, with nearly 90 present in the blast-affected area. Speaking to ANI, NV Subhash urged the government to verify whether the factory had obtained all the necessary licenses and safety clearances. 'Around eight people have lost their lives in this mishap... The BJP extends condolences to the family members of the persons who have lost their lives. We immediately asked our party workers and leaders to go and extend all possible help so that the damage could be controlled,' Subhash said. 'We also demand a thorough inquiry into whether this company had all the mandatory licenses... If any lapse is found, then we request the authorities to take immediate action against the management of the company,' he added. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed sorrow over the loss of lives in the explosion at the Sigachi Pharma chemical factory. The Prime Minister also announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakhs for the next of kin of each deceased and Rs 50,000 for the injured from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund (PMNRF). In a post on X, the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) wrote, 'Anguished by the loss of lives due to a fire tragedy at a factory in Sangareddy, Telangana. Condolences to those who have lost their loved ones. May the injured recover soon. An ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh from PMNRF would be given to the next of kin of each deceased. The injured would be given Rs. 50,000: PM @narendramodi.' V Satyanaryana, Inspector General, Multi Zone II, said the fire was brought under control with the help of 10 fire engines and specialised rescue teams, including the NDRF and SDF. He further added that six people died on the spot, while two succumbed to injuries during treatment at Chanda Nagar. 'A total of eight deaths, 26 injuries, and 2 or 3 people are in critical condition. Government officials are providing all necessary medical facilities. Firefighting efforts are still ongoing, and the rescue operation continues,' he said. Former Telangana Minister and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader T Harish Rao, who visited the site, claimed that 50-60 individuals may still be trapped inside the facility. 'So far, eight people have lost their lives, and 26 others have been admitted to the hospital. Approximately 50-60 people are still inside the factory, and we have yet to locate them. The rescue operation is underway,' T Harish Rao told ANI. He added, 'We have demanded that the government provide Rs 1 crore to the family members of the deceased and Rs 50 lakh to the injured. The injured should be shifted to the Corporate Hospital immediately. Strict actions should be taken immediately. Skilled workers are not working here, and that is why such incidents are taking place...' (ANI)

Subhash terms Jagan's ‘recall' campaign as ‘absurd

Amalapuram: Minister for labour, factories, boilers and insurance medical services Vasamsetti Subhash termed the 'Recall Chandrababu Manifesto' agitation announced by YSRCP president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy as 'highly ridiculous and ironic'. Addressing the media on Saturday, the minister criticised Jagan Mohan Reddy for failing to fulfill several key promises during his five-year rule. Subhash alleged that Jagan's government completely ruined the state, leaving it in economic distress. He pointed out that crucial promises like scrapping the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS), enforcing prohibition, increasing pensions for the differently-abled, achieving Special Category Status, and constructing 30 lakh houses were never fulfilled. Describing Jagan's rule as a 'dark era' for the state, the minister accused the former CM of harassing major companies like Amara Raja and Kia Motors for commissions, which hurt the state's industrial growth. He also alleged that the SC, ST, and BC communities were severely neglected, with no loans sanctioned and 26 welfare schemes meant for SCs being scrapped. Subhash stated that the people of Andhra Pradesh rejected Jagan's misrule, which is evident from the fact that his party was reduced to just 11 Assembly seats in the recent elections. He said that despite this clear verdict, Jagan has not learned any lessons. Criticising the YSRCP's newly launched campaign under the banner of 'Recall Chandrababu Manifesto', the minister called it shameful and absurd. He added that YSRCP leaders are unable to accept the ongoing development and welfare initiatives being successfully implemented by the new government. The minister concluded that people have entrusted Chandrababu Naidu with the responsibility of rebuilding the state and that such recall campaigns only show YSRCP's inability to face reality.

Based on the CCTV footage, the accused have been identified as Subhash, Ankit, Nikki, Sahil, Haseen, Batti, besides other unnamed individuals. No arrests have been made so far. According to police, the brazen incident unfolded around 11.35 pm when constables Ashish and Vijay, posted at the Maloya police station, were patrolling the area. As they approached the Small Flats area in Dadumajra Colony, they spotted 5-6 youths creating a public obstruction by audaciously parking their motorcycles on the road and hurling stones at passersby. The constables then resumed patrolling when around 12.10 am they encountered the same group again near Sheetla Mata Mandir in Sector 38-West. They were waving sticks, rods and pistol-like weapons before fleeing again,' constable Ashish added. Devi, after receiving treatment, gave a written statement, confirming that she was hit on the forehead by a stone thrown by one of the boys while returning from work. ED raids 24 Raj & Guj locations in 2,700 crore Nexa Evergreen scam

Jaipur/Jhunjhunu: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted massive raids across Rajasthan and Gujarat on Thursday in connection with an alleged Rs 2,700 crore money laundering scheme linked to the Nexa Evergreen project. The operation, spanning 24 locations, targeted what authorities describe as a massive real estate fraud that affected approximately 62,000 investors. Till the evening ED has seized almost Rs 2 crores and 3 lakhs and have freezed around 10 bank accounts. The raids, supported by CRPF and local police, were carried out in multiple cities including Sikar, Jaipur, Jodhpur and Jhunjhunu in Rajasthan and Ahmedabad in Gujarat. The ED's investigation stems from multiple FIRs filed with the Rajasthan Police regarding the fraudulent scheme. According to ED officials, the company, registered in Ahmedabad in April 2021, allegedly lured investors with promises of affordable housing and land plots in Gujarat's Dholera Smart City Project. The primary accused, Subhash and Ranveer Bijarniya from Panlawa in Sikar district, specifically targeted govt employees, including police and armed forces personnel, promising high returns on investments. "While some initial investors received property possession, the scheme was later exposed as fraudulent, leaving most investors without recourse," said a senior ED officer in Jaipur. The agency has seized incriminating documents, bank account details, electronic devices and property papers during the raids. "So far we have seized Rs 2 crores and 3 lakhs and have also freezed around 10 bank accounts," said an officer. The scam, which affected around 62,000 people, has already led to hundreds of FIRs across different districts and multiple protests by victims. Both main accused, Ranveer and Subhash Bijarnia, were previously arrested in connection with the case. The ED's investigation continues, with officials stating this is their first major operation since registering the case in early 2024. The agency also raided the premises of Salim Khan, another accused who operated a Nexa Evergreen office in Jhunjhunu's KK Colony, allegedly to attract more investors to the scheme. While the ED has confirmed seizing significant evidence, specific details of the recoveries are yet to be disclosed as the investigation remains ongoing.
