Subhash terms Jagan's ‘recall' campaign as ‘absurd

Amalapuram: Minister for labour, factories, boilers and insurance medical services Vasamsetti Subhash termed the 'Recall Chandrababu Manifesto' agitation announced by YSRCP president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy as 'highly ridiculous and ironic'. Addressing the media on Saturday, the minister criticised Jagan Mohan Reddy for failing to fulfill several key promises during his five-year rule.
Subhash alleged that Jagan's government completely ruined the state, leaving it in economic distress. He pointed out that crucial promises like scrapping the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS), enforcing prohibition, increasing pensions for the differently-abled, achieving Special Category Status, and constructing 30 lakh houses were never fulfilled.
Describing Jagan's rule as a 'dark era' for the state, the minister accused the former CM of harassing major companies like Amara Raja and Kia Motors for commissions, which hurt the state's industrial growth. He also alleged that the SC, ST, and BC communities were severely neglected, with no loans sanctioned and 26 welfare schemes meant for SCs being scrapped.
Subhash stated that the people of Andhra Pradesh rejected Jagan's misrule, which is evident from the fact that his party was reduced to just 11 Assembly seats in the recent elections. He said that despite this clear verdict, Jagan has not learned any lessons.
Criticising the YSRCP's newly launched campaign under the banner of 'Recall Chandrababu Manifesto', the minister called it shameful and absurd. He added that YSRCP leaders are unable to accept the ongoing development and welfare initiatives being successfully implemented by the new government.
The minister concluded that people have entrusted Chandrababu Naidu with the responsibility of rebuilding the state and that such recall campaigns only show YSRCP's inability to face reality.

Narayana vows safe drinking water across all civic bodies

Vijayawada: Municipal administration and urban development minister P Narayana said the state government is determined to provide safe drinking water to households across all municipalities. Addressing the media after a review meeting chaired by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu at CM camp office on Saturday, the minister stated that tenders have been invited for laying drinking water pipelines to cover 85 per cent of households, with support from the AMRUT scheme. He said Rs 5,350 crore, sanctioned by the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, will be used for completing both drinking water and drainage projects. Blaming the previous YSRCP government for lapses in securing Central funds due to failure in releasing the state's share, Narayana stressed the new government's commitment to infrastructure development. On the solid waste issue, the minister said Andhra Pradesh generates 8,000 tonnes of waste daily. While waste-to-energy plants are already operational in Guntur and Visakhapatnam, six new plants are planned in Rajahmundry, Nellore, Kadapa, Kurnool, Vijayawada, and Tirupati. Once operational, they can convert up to 7,500 tonnes of garbage into power. An allocation of Rs 225 crore has been made for new garbage clearing equipment. He also said the government is working to distribute TIDCO houses by clearing Rs 140 crore in pending bank loans for the beneficiaries.

TDP top brass promises swift resolution of grievances

VIJAYAWADA: The TDP Central Office witnessed a flood of complaints during a public grievance redressal programme on Saturday, with petitioners raising issues of land disputes, financial fraud, and other injustices. TDP State president Palla Srinivasa Rao, Government Chief Whip Panchumarti Anuradha, Revenue Minister Anagani Satya Prasad, Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha, former MLC Ashok Babu, and Khadi Rural Industries Board chairman KK Choudhary received the petitions and assured prompt action. Another petitioner from Pesarlanka in Bapatla district said a deceased person's identity was misused in 2019 to forge an Aadhaar card and sell their land. A woman from Kakinada accused YSRCP supporters of murdering her husband, a TDP worker, naming Narreddy Ravindra Reddy, Talari Bogadanna, and Belukuri Raju as the culprits. Other grievances included unpaid dues from Sai Kiran Hybrid Seeds, land encroachment by a former YSRCP sarpanch in Kurnool, and a mother from Guntur seeking a probe into her son's alleged murder, disguised as an accident.
