So we will send the request soon. As long as we don't get approval, we can't use it yet,' he said when met after the association's Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur here today. He also explained that the name change was aimed to streamline it with the names of other sports bodies using the word 'Federation'. High Court orders transfer of land title from Dr M and three other trustees to Umno
KUALA LUMPUR: The High Court here has ordered that a 9,723sq m parcel of land in the capital, previously registered in the names of Tun Musa Hitam, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, the late Tun Daim Zainuddin and the late Tan Sri Sanusi Junid as trustees, be transferred to Umno. Justice Roz Mawar Rozain made the order on Tuesday (June 24) after Umno's counsel, Datuk Mohd Hafarizam Harun, informed the court that the applicant (Umno) and the respondent (the Federal Territories Land and Mines Office Registrar) had agreed to resolve the matter by way of a consent judgment. "Accordingly, the court records the parties' consent judgment, and the transfer of title is to be effected within 30 days,' Justice Roz Mawar said during the proceedings, which were also attended by co-counsel for Umno, Norhazira Abu Haiyan. According to the draft consent order obtained by the media, ownership of the property is to be transferred and registered in the name of Umno, together with all rights, interests and title therein, under Section 9(b) of the Societies Act 1966. On March 6, Umno secretary of works Datuk Mohd Sumali Reduan filed an originating summons seeking a court order for the transfer of title to Grant 78154, Lot 40, Section 51, Bandar Kuala Lumpur, registered in the names of four trustees, to the party under Clause 27.1 of the United Malays National Organisation Constitution and Section 9 of the Societies Act 1966. Umno also sought an order directing the Land Registrar or Land Administrator to effect the transfer by entering a memorial in the title document. In his supporting affidavit, Sumali stated that under Form Schedule 17, an application for approval to transfer the land dated Oct 27, 2015, together with a statutory declaration dated Oct 22, 2015, was executed and affirmed by all four trustees. He further affirmed that two of the trustees, Sanusi and Daim, had since passed away, on March 9, 2018, and Nov 13, 2024, respectively. According to Sumali, the then office bearers of Umno, namely the president, deputy president and secretary-general, had agreed via a statutory declaration dated Dec 10, 2015, to have the property re-registered in the party's name. He added that a letter from the Federal Territories Land and Mines Office dated Dec 28, 2015, confirmed that the Federal Territory Kuala Lumpur Land Working Committee had approved the proposed transfer of title from the trustees to Umno. However, the subsequent attempt to effect the transfer via Form 14A, dated April 25, 2016, submitted by Umno's solicitors to the Federal Territories Land and Mines Office was rejected on May 18, 2017. He said the stated reason for the rejection was a discrepancy between the names listed on the land title and the corresponding names on the identity documents. – Bernama

2025 Asia Cup: Player Mistakes Led To Failure To Win Doubles Gold
KUALA LUMPUR, May 13 (Bernama) -- Malaysia's failure to win the doubles gold at the 2025 Asia Cup Sepak Takraw Championship yesterday has boiled down to players making mistakes at critical moments. Beyond according blame, Malaysian Sepak Takraw Association (PSM) president Datuk Mohd Sumali Reduan, who in analysis was of that opinion, declared that his team would fix the delicate problem before the King's Cup in July. "If you ask me, the teams in this doubles event are very evenly balanced and whoever makes a mistake will pay a high price. We have seen how small mistakes can change the direction of the entire match. bootstrap slideshow "However, we admit that there is still a lot of room for improvement. Some mistakes should not have happened during key moments," he told Bernama yesterday. Malaysia's desire to win the doubles title following its first success in the quadrant event played earlier at the 2025 Asia Cup was dashed when they lost 1-2 to traditional takraw arch-rivals Thailand in the final yesterday. Asked to comment on the triumphant national quadrant squad, Sumali had effusive praise for the players who successfully delivered the country's first gold medal at the competition. "I am happy with the players' delivery in the men's quadrant. Since the beginning, I have focused on that and it seems that it has paid off. "The quadrant is an event we have never seriously participated in before and I am glad that we managed to emerge as champions," he said. Yesterday, the national quadrant squad made history by becoming champions after defeating Japan 2-0 for the country's first gold at the 2025 Asia Cup at the packed Titiwangsa Stadium.
