(NewsNation) — July is quickly approaching, which means Social Security benefit checks should be arriving soon. For Social Security and Supplement Security Income recipients, July will be a normal month in terms of the payment schedule. However, come August, some recipients might have to deal with an odd payment schedule, similar to that of May's. If you need to know when you'll receive your Social Security benefits check in July, you can check the Social Security Administration's retirement benefit schedule online for this year and 2026. Your payments are based on your birth date, which has the following breakdown for July: If you receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI), you will receive your regular payment on July 1. However, similar to May, in August, SSI recipients will receive two payments: one on August 1 and one on August 29. This means that there will technically be no SSI payments in September. (NewsNation) — For some Social Security recipients, May could bring three checks from the Social Security Administration. Anyone who receives Supplemental Security Income from the agency will receive two payments in May, in addition to their regular Social Security benefit check. The Social Security Administration pays out Social Security benefits and Supplement Security Income (SSI), but the programs are different. SSI is need-based. It goes to people who are 65 and older, blind or disabled, and who have low income and very limited resources. Social Security calculator: Figure out your monthly benefits As of March of this year, the agency reported more than 7.4 million people — seniors, adults and children — receive SSI benefits. Recently, some individuals have reported receiving notices that they were 'not receiving benefits.' However, the Social Security Administration has said that these notices were sent by mistake.
