Raja of Perlis reprimands municipal officers for 'Little Napoleon' behaviour
KANGAR: The Raja of Perlis Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Jamalullail reprimanded several Kangar Municipal Council (MPKangar) officers for not performing their duties well and behaving like "Little Napoleons" as this could tarnish the council's name and image. Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin said that he himself had experiences dealing with MPKangar officers that showed they need to change their attitude and work methods. "MPKangar does good work, but there are still 'Little Napoleons' who remain in power, tarnishing MPKangar's name because they are not doing their jobs properly. "I think every staff member should be aware of their responsibilities; please change your attitude and work methods so that we can all fully enjoy the development in Perlis," His Royal Highness decreed during the groundbreaking ceremony for Wisma MPKangar at Persiaran Wawasan here on Tuesday (June 24). Also in attendance were the Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail, and the Raja Puan Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Dr. Hajah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil, Perlis Menteri Besar Mohd Shukri Ramli and MPKangar President Affendi Rajini Kanth. Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin stated that the municipal council deals extensively with the public, so its officers must provide appropriate, more people-friendly service. The Raja of Perlis said he reprimanded the officers so they would understand the need to change their behaviour for the sake of the state and future generations, while also urging government officers in other departments to perform their duties excellently for Perlis. - Bernama
