Hyundai Motor Group Tops Rankings in 2025 IIHS Top Safety Awards
Hyundai Motor Group (the Group) has reaffirmed its leadership in vehicle safety, achieving the highest number of models awarded in the 2025 Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) crash test evaluations.A total of 15 models across Hyundai Motor Company, Kia Corporation and Genesis have earned either 2025 TOP SAFETY PICK (TSP) or TOP SAFETY PICK+ (TSP+) designation. This includes seven Hyundai models, five Genesis models, and three Kia models, marking the second consecutive year the Group has received the most IIHS safety the latest round of evaluations, the 2025 Hyundai ELANTRA, SONATA and 2025 Kia K4, were awarded the coveted TSP+ rating, joining existing models such as the 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5, IONIQ 6, KONA, TUCSON, and SANTA FE; the Genesis GV60, Electrified GV70, GV70, GV80; and the 2025 Kia EV9 and Telluride. The 2025 Genesis G90 currently holds a TSP IIHS enhanced its crash test criteria for 2025, introducing more stringent requirements for second-row occupant protection. In the updated moderate overlap front test, dummies representing 12-year-old children or small female passengers are placed in the rear seats to assess injury risk more realistically. Expedite selection process for govt scheme benefits: DC
Mangaluru: Deputy commissioner Darshan HV instructed govt departments to expedite the selection process of beneficiaries of schemes under various corporations and approve the benefits quickly. He spoke while presiding over a meeting of various committees of the social welfare department, at the deputy commissioner's office on Friday. He emphasised that it is not appropriate to delay processes such as the verification of beneficiary records, site inspections, and other procedures, as this results in eligible beneficiaries not receiving facilities in a timely manner. He advised that, if necessary, only the residential verification of beneficiaries should be conducted, and the facilities should be approved swiftly. To ensure equal access to beneficiary selection, a taluk-wise selection process will be considered, he said. The DC said discussions will be held with bankers regarding the rejection of applications under bank-based loan facilities due to low CIBIL scores. He instructed the officials of urban local bodies to report any accidents or deaths involving civic workers to the deputy commissioner office within 24 hours. The relief funds for civic workers should not be used for other purposes, he directed. Additional deputy commissioner G Santhosh Kumar emphasised that all departments should promptly select beneficiaries for SCP/TSP schemes and utilise the funds within the stipulated time. Hemalatha S, the deputy director of the social welfare department, said that in Dakshina Kannada, 24 Dalit atrocity cases were registered until the end of May 2025, and compensation of Rs 22.1 lakh was provided in 16 of these cases.

Ensure timely implementation of schemes for holistic development of tribal areas: Rajasthan CM tells officials
Jaipur: Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Friday reiterated the state government's unwavering commitment to the welfare and holistic development of Scheduled Tribes and Tribal Sub-Plan (TSP) areas. He emphasised that the Rajasthan Scheduled Tribes Advisory Council is playing a vital role in ensuring the effective implementation of key schemes of both the Central and state governments. Presiding over the meeting of the Rajasthan Scheduled Tribes Advisory Council organised by the Tribal Area Development Department at the Chief Minister's residence on Friday, CM Sharma urged public representatives to actively support the ongoing Dharti Aaba Jan-Bhagidari Abhiyan, being held from June 15 to 30 to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Birsa Munda. He instructed officials to expedite the resolution of pending individual and community claims under the Forest Rights Act, 2006, and issue rights certificates without delay. The Chief Minister directed officials to ensure the timely and quality execution of projects sanctioned under the Tribal Area Development Department. He stressed the need to complete all works announced in the 2024–25 budget promptly and to accelerate implementation of the 2025–26 budget announcements. He also called for timely disbursement of scholarships to students through the School Education, Social Justice and Empowerment, and Higher Education Departments. Additionally, Sharma instructed departments to fast-track progress in Water Resources projects and initiatives by the Agriculture and Horticulture Departments. He emphasised quality construction in road projects and effective execution of the Jal Jeevan Mission. He further directed authorities to ensure timely electricity connections in tribal called for focused implementation of Central government initiatives, especially the Prime Minister TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, by ensuring patient identification and providing treatment assistance in the TSP areas. He urged officials to expedite the work approved under PM-Janman, and ensure 100 per cent benefit delivery to tribal families through initiatives like the Dharti Aba Janjati Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan. He also emphasised the need to boost tribal livelihoods through the Pradhan Mantri Van Dhan Yojana. The Chief Minister directed public representatives to actively participate in the upcoming Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Antyodaya Sambal Pakhwada, commencing June 24, to ensure last-mile delivery of welfare schemes to the needy. He also instructed officials to maintain high standards of food and nutrition at Maa-Baadi centers and to regularly inspect residential schools and hostels in TSP regions. Pending distribution of mini seed kits must be completed at the earliest, he added. Present on the occasion were Tribal Area Development Minister Babulal Kharari, Revenue Minister Hemant Meena, among others. Chief Secretary Sudhansh Pant, along with Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, and senior officials from various departments, also attended the meeting.

H.G. Infra Engg emerges as lowest bidder for ISTS project in Odisha
H.G. Infra Engineering has announced that it has been declared the lowest (L1) bidder for the role of Transmission Service Provider (TSP) for the development of an Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) in the state of Odisha. The project falls under the Eastern Region Generation SchemeI (ERGS-I) and was awarded through a tariff-based competitive bidding process. It includes the operation and maintenance of the transmission system for a period of 35 years. The contract will be executed on a Build, Own, Operate & Transfer (BOOT) basis, with project completion scheduled for 28 March 2028. The approved transmission charges for the project are set at Rs 431.11 million tariff per year. H.G. Infra Engineering is primarily involved in the construction of roads and highways in Odisha, Telangana, Rajasthan, Delhi, Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh. HGIEL is accredited AA class by the Public Works Department (PWD) of the Government of Rajasthan (GoR) and is registered as an SS class contractor by the Military Engineer Services (MES). The company reported a 22.65% decline in consolidated net profit to Rs 146.98 crore in Q4 FY25 as against Rs 190.03 crore posted in Q4 FY24. Revenue from operations fell 20.33% YoY to Rs 1,360.89 crore in the quarter ended 31 March 2025. The scrip rose 0.58% to Rs 1,109 on the BSE.
