Logies 2025: MAFS, The Block, MKR and more stars not invited in major snub

The 65th Annual TV Week Logie Awards are exactly one week away, with the ceremony set to recognise some of the most popular actors, presenters, and television personalities for their work over the past year. The nominees include well-known names and programs across multiple networks and streaming services; however, not everyone has been invited to attend the prestigious event. Despite being some of the most recognisable faces on Australian TV and delivering enormous ratings for their respective shows, a large majority of reality TV participants have been snubbed. Here's which of your favourite reality stars you can expect to see on the red carpet next Sunday, and who will be watching from home. Married At First Sight While it was a guarantee in previous years that Married At First Sight participants would be in attendance, Jamie Marinos tells Yahoo Lifestyle that no one from this season's cast has received an invite. 'To be honest, I felt like there was all this talk that we were gonna get invited, but I just didn't trust it, so I actually booked a trip to Europe and I'm doing my own kind of publicity tour in London,' she shares. RELATED: Logies 2025 nominations break tradition with historic moment: 'Amazing' Gold Logie nominees reveal wild campaign strategies: 'Battalion' Radio star's explosive on-air outburst after Logies snub: 'Talentless losers' 'None of us were bloody invited. That's sad for everyone else at the Logies, because we know how to turn up at any kind of dinner party event. It's a shame because I know the rest of the cast probably would have been looking forward to it too. I would have loved to have gone to the Logies with everyone.' It's understood that relationship experts John Aiken and Alessandra Rampolla will be in attendance to represent the show, which is what they did last year after the season 11 cast was also snubbed. The Block Similarly to MAFS, the teams from last year's milestone twentieth season of The Block also missed out on an invite, with Scott Cam, Shelley Craft, and the show's judges expected to attend in their place 'Unfortunately, we haven't received an invite to the Logies,' Ricky Recard tells us. 'If The Block bosses and Channel 9 can fit us on their invite list, I'm sure they will. With so many amazing people involved in the show, from Julian Cress, Scotty Cam, Shelley Craft and too many more for me to mention, it must be so hard to invite everyone along to such a special night.' Despite the 'snub', Ricky says he feels 'privileged' and 'incredibly grateful' to have been a part of the series, and he will be cheering the team on from home. 'I have no doubt the team will bring home the Logie for Best Competition Reality Program, and if they do, to be part of that I'll always hold close to my heart. I love my Block family,' he remarks. The Real Housewives of Sydney This year marks the first time The Real Housewives of Sydney have been nominated for the Logies; however, Victoria Montano tells us that none of the cast members have been invited. 'My understanding is that when the news broke, a few cast members contacted production to ask who was going to attend the Logies. I didn't contact production at all when the news broke - I was under no misconceptions about the fact they would prioritise themselves over the stars of the show. The ladies, who for almost no pay at all, open their lives to the public so that production can make money from our lives,' she shares. My Kitchen Rules Yahoo Lifestyle understands that none of the teams from the recent season of My Kitchen Rules have been asked to attend the Logies, and judges Manu Feildel and Colin Fassnidge will instead represent the series on the red carpet. This doesn't bother 2024 champion Simone Preste at all, as he will be busy working on his new business venture. 'We won't be able to attend the event as we'll be opening our second restaurant location at Westfield Chermside next week,' he tells us. 'But with all my heart, I hope MKR takes home the award, fingers crossed!' MasterChef MasterChef judges Poh Ling Yeow and Sofia Levin will definitely be in attendance as they are both first-time nominees, with Poh up for the Gold Logie and Sofia up for Most Popular New Talent. Previous years have seen the show's most recent winner and runner-up in attendance; however, Josh 'Pezza' Perry says he hasn't been contacted. 'I hope they do well at the Logies. It was a great show to be a part of, but I only came second and [I'm] a guy from Tassie, so I'm forgotten about fairly fast, I think,' he tells us. 'But I like that because that's who l am and I probably didn't suit what they wanted.' Farmer Wants A Wife It's unknown who, if anyone, will be in attendance to support Farmer Wants A Wife, as host Natalie Gruzlewski hasn't walked the red carpet since 2014 and none of last year's farmers have been invited. 'I don't think I'm going; they haven't contacted me about it at all,' Farmer Bert Harris tells us. 'No doubt the producers will be the ones going!' Australian Survivor The same can be said for Australian Survivor, with Jonathan LaPaglia unlikely to attend after he was recently fired from the series, and winner Myles Kuah not on the guest list. 'I'm not going to the Logies, but I'm hopeful for a Survivor win,' he tells us. Australian Idol One reality star who will be walking the red carpet is this year's Australian Idol winner, Marshall Hamburger. The 19-year-old will be joined by the show's host, Ricki-Lee Coulter, who is nominated for Most Popular Presenter. 'I am honestly so excited to attend my first Logies ever, and a little nervous as well!' he tells us. 'I have to say I am very excited to hear Jimmy Barnes sing. I've never seen him perform live before, so seeing him in person is going to be a huge honour! I'm also excited to hopefully see some of the crew from Idol, such as Ricki-Lee, the judges, and the production crew as well. 'As for my outfit, I am stuck between an '80s style Farnham look, or a Bruno Mars Silk Sonic look! Who knows what I'll end up wearing though.' Travel Guides Also in attendance will be the cast of Channel 9's Travel Guides, who have won the Logie for Best Lifestyle Program three years running. Cast member and former Beauty and the Geek runner-up Bri Auty tells Yahoo Lifestyle she is hopeful the series will be able to take home another win. 'I'll be there with bells on,' she remarks. 'We got nominated again for Best Lifestyle Program, so hopefully we win again for the fourth year in a row. All of us will be there!' Emmys Analysis: Streamers Inject Fresh Blood Into Nominations With ‘The Studio', ‘Severance', ‘The Pitt' & Other Breakthroughs

After last year's Primetime Emmy broadcast that sported fresh blood in terms of marquee category winners with Hacks for Comedy Series, Shōgun for Drama Series and Baby Reindeer for Limited Series/Anthology, even down to the usually tired and predictable Reality Series lineup with newcomer The Traitors, this morning's announcement of nominees for the 77th annual Primetime Emmys gives us hope for a repeat of no repeats in the major categories. That is something increasingly rare but perhaps is a new trend where voters actually aren't doing the same old/same old that Emmys past, fairly or unfairly, were accused of. With Severance dominating the Drama Series field with an impressive 27 nominations (wow) in its second season, doubling the haul of its first which debuted way back in 2022 (and only two crafts wins then), it looks like a front-runner for a triumph come September. Should it falter, a first-season entry with 13 nominations, The Pitt, seems the most likely to benefit and perhaps pull off a win for its debut as a powerhouse on HBO/Max. It even might get a win for star Noah Wyle, who, after losing regularly decades ago for ER, has returned to an emergency room with a real chance to finally join the winners circle. More from Deadline 'Squid Game,' Diego Luna & Elisabeth Moss Snubbed In Emmy Nominations; Beyoncé & Martin Scorsese Among Big Surprises Everything We Know About the 2025 Emmys So Far 'The Studio's Seth Rogen And Evan Goldberg Recruit Guest Star Sarah Polley As Season 2 Writer; Ron Howard Says He Would Return "In A Heartbeat" RELATED: Kathryn Hahn, Kaitlyn Dever, Catherine O'Hara, Michael Urie & More React To 2025 Emmy Nominations And in Comedy Series, the seesaw battle of the past couple of years between FX's The Bear and HBO/Max's Hacks now looks to bow to the sensational showing of Apple TV+'s industry favorite The Studio, with a remarkable 23 nominations (tying The Bear's first-season haul). Proving, as Hacks did, that voters can't resist shows about themselves, nearly half its nominations belong to the cast, with star/creator Seth Rogen nabbing three nominations including Lead Actor, co-stars Ike Barinholtz, Catherine O'Hara nd Kathryn Hahn in Supporting categories and a whopping six nominations for Guest Stars. Five of those are playing themselves, including four out of six for Guest Actor (Dave Franco, Ron Howard, Anthony Mackie and Martin Scorsese) and one for Guest Actress (Zoë Kravitz) in addition to Bryan Cranston definitely not playing himself. Is this a record for acting nominations for people playing themselves? It has to be. Incidentally, for Howard, who started acting at age 5 in the late 1950s and has co-starred in several series as well, his bonkers turn as director Ron Howard represents his first Emmy nomination ever for acting, even though he has won a few as a producer in the past. Joining him in the newbie acting Emmy stats is a long-overdue Harrison Ford, up for his first-ever Emmy for his moving role in season 2 of Shrinking, a show that is another breakthrough with its first Comedy Series nomination among its seven mentions. RELATED: Where's My Show? Why Some Of Your Favorites Won't Be Emmy-Nominated This Year Apple TV+ is responsible for Shrinking, as well as both Severance and The Studio, and looks to have a very good night when the Primetime Emmys are handed out on September 14. Netflix, which was the runner-up to HBO/Max's personal-record 142 nominations with 121 of its own, also looks to continue its impressive streak in the Limited Series/Anthology category, having won it in three of the past four years including the past two with Beef and Baby Reindeer. This year it not only has the unquestioned and global sensation front-runner in Adolescence with 13 nominations but also Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story. with 11 nominations and anthology Black Mirror with 10, making for 34 noms overall in a strong category against HBO/Max's leading The Penguin with 24 and Hulu's Dying for Sex with nine. It is the one category where surprisingly Apple didn't come to play despite two contenders from early in the season, Presumed Innocent and especially Alfonso Cuarón's Disclaimer; neither the cut, though some of their stars did. This particular category just begs to be expanded to eight nominees, just as the TV Academy did with Drama and Comedy series. CBS will be televising the Emmys this year with their turn at the wheel of the four rotating broadcast networks, and it got the opportunity to make an early jump on things by announcing the nominees in two categories on CBS Mornings that generally still friendly to broadcast TV: Talk Series and Reality Competition Series. Coincidentally, the network had three of the combined eight nominees in those categories — Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Survivor and The Amazing Race — making it appear that CBS was the early nominations leader (!). It would be a short-lived lead because when the rest of the nominations were announced nearly four hours later, momentum predictably changed. And no matter how you look at things, it is the streamers that control this competition and make the Emmy-friendly contenders that continue to draw the big names and become the center of conversation. It actually is why there were no jaw-dropping shockers this morning. I mean, didn't we know that two-thirds of The White Lotus cast would be nominated? When the Actors branch likes a show, they really like it. RELATED: Everything We Know About the 2025 Emmys So Far Of the shows that campaigned heavily, the biggest loser was the final season for The Handmaid's Tale which only landed a single Guest Actress nomination for Cherry Jones, who either wins or gets nominated no matter what show she is in. Consider that Handmaid's Tale won big in its very first season and is going out very quietly in its sixth, which might indicate that voters indeed are looking for fresh blood — or this particular series' vision of a dystopian future has just gotten too close for comfort to our current reality. RELATED: Emmy Scorecards: Nominations By Program & Network Television Academy chair Cris Abrego said a record was set in terms of voters turnout of the 26,000-plus members, and that indicates an excitement for this season and the freshness of the nominees including so many potential first-time winners ranging in age from 15-year-old Adolescence star Owen Cooper to 83-year-old Ford, who could become the youngest and oldest ever-winners in their respective categories on their first try. I guess that means it is never too early or too late, Emmy-wise. On to Phase 2 as the campaign for Emmy gold heats up. Three Gold Logie nominees walk into a room…

For the first time in history, six of the seven Gold Logie nominees are women – and all of them are over the age of 40. In this special episode of Something To Talk About, three of those nominees – Sonia Kruger, Ally Langdon and Lynne McGranger – sit down together for a lively conversation about everything from how they feel about being part of the game-changing line-up vying for television's biggest prize to what it has taken them to achieve lasting success in their chosen careers. What they reveal is insightful, instructive and reflective. It's also funny, especially when they start to consider what they all might do if Hamish Blake, the lone male nominee in their category, ends up taking out the win… Watch the full episode with Ally, Sonia and Lynne here. Logie nominees' secret pact if Hamish Blake wins

Gold Logie nominees Sonia Kruger, Lynne McGranger and Ally Langdon are cheering on each other — and fellow nominees Julia Morris, Lisa Millar and Poh Ling Yeow — to take out the award on TV's night of nights. But should Hamish Blake, the only male nominee amongst the women, win the Gold Logie instead, that's a different story. In an interview with Stellar podcast Something To Talk About, Kruger, McGranger and Langdon agreed on what they would do if Blake took the top prize. 'Stand up and walk out. We should make a pact,' Home and Away's McGranger quipped. And if Blake wins and calls all the women to the stage with him in a show of support, McGranger thinks they should 'just turn around and go, 'Sorry. You're on your own, buddy. Bye.' And leave.' Listen to the full interview with Sonia Kruger, Lynne McGranger and Ally Langdon on Something To Talk About below: All joking aside, this year's Logies have already made history because six of the seven Gold Logie nominees are women. The category became genderless in 1978 and since then only 10 different women have won the Gold, which surprised the nominees. 'This particular group just highlights the fact that some amazing women work in this business,' TV presenter Kruger said. '[The three of us] have daughters. And one of the best parts was knowing that all those little girls out there who might be watching TV or looking for a career as an actor, a journalist, a presenter could then aspire a little bit more. Because they see women who are doing that and being recognised for that.' A Current Affair host Langdon said it was nice to celebrate the nomination together. 'The morning we had the [nominations] breakfast, Hamish was hilarious,' she told Something To Talk About. 'He was genuinely saying, 'Don't vote for me. It would be the worst thing in the world if the one guy was the person to win it.' But also, look at the different pathways each of us took to reach this point.' Listen to the full interview with Sonia Kruger, Lynne McGranger and Ally Langdon on Something To Talk About below: All the women nominated for the Gold Logie, and Blake, are over 40 this year, which possibly speaks to change within the media and entertainment industry when it comes to females and ageism. 'It seems to me the older I've got, the more visible I've become,' McGranger said. 'But you know what? Twenty years ago, I was starting to feel invisible.' Langdon said the audience wants to see women over 40 on their screens. 'When Tracy Grimshaw celebrated 40 years on television, she talked about how, by 30, she thought, 'Someone's probably going to tap me… Then I got to 50 and thought, maybe I'm not going to get the tap',' she told Stellar. 'Whereas we have always watched these esteemed, fabulous male colleagues go forever. Everybody in this category being over 40, you know, as we always say: you can only be what you can see.' Kruger agreed, saying 'Experience counts for something now. That's what they are looking for.' The three congratulated each other on their nomination and said they deserved a pat on their backs. 'There's a lovely kindness and camaraderie in this group. It's a lovely ride with some really extraordinary women,' Langdon said, adding with a laugh: 'And Hamish.'
